Finally the Tigers have control again and the players aren't running the show!!
Been a long time coming!! #culture

People tweeting to him to jump on the bus, he has liked everyones comments lol, take him?

I saw the same on twitter. Balmain junior apparently according to one of the follow up tweets. If he's keen let's give him a start

The way he is talking up the club, looks like he has some heart. I'd defo take him.

Yeah he's touting for a gig, that's why he's saying it.

Honestly I'm so over the whole contract situation with woods and Tedesco, I guess we'll have a decsion tomorrow.

I'm still confident Tedesco will resign, I reckon Woods is all but gone…. But honestly both can leave it doesn't bother me after looking at the possible options and the money we have in the cap we might be better off.

Honestly if Tedesco does go to Roosters, raid Latrell Mitchell he imo is the next GI, offer him that fullback spot and more money and after being dropped 2 weeks straight it wouldn't be mission impossible.

If not, I'd be making a play for Dylan Edwards.

At 6 I'd go for Shaun Johnson or Gareth Widdop.... If not I'd be trying to bring Connor Watson at 6

We've signed Milne, so we really just need a winger. David mead would be my first option.

Forward pack, I've been told Matalino has signed and is in COP so if it does become official he's a good start, I'd be looking at bringing in Graham from the doggies and maybe even Kasiano as an impact forward of the bench.

1\. Latrell Mitchell
2\. David Nofalouma
3\. Moses Suli
4\. Taine Milne
5\. David Mead
6\. Shaun Johnson
7\. Luke Brooks
8\. James Graham
9\. Matt Mcllwrick
10\. Ben Matalino
11\. Chris McQueen
12\. Jamal Idris
13\. Elijah Taylor

14\. Ava Suamnafagnai
15\. Sauaso Sue
16\. JJ Felise/ Jacob Liddle
17\. Josh Alioai

The Sydney options for Cooper Cronk have now come down to the WTs .
He shares the same manager as Cleary who will be keen for Ivan to be successful moving forward .

If both left their respective Clubs, would you prefer Johnson or Cronk?
Cronk, although a real pro,has 1-2 years left. Johnson could be longer term?

Can't see Johnson leaving now that Foran is confirmed to be leaving. Whilst i would definately take Johnson, i feel hes almost in the Marshall mould in that he's not so keen to get the team going forward before trying to attack.

Can't disagree with your logic. We've never had this amount of funds at our disposal,I'm just praying we get real quality

Seeing as we're playing fantasy football, I reckon we need to be smart and play a bit of money ball here.

Assuming both Woods and Tedesco leave, I would sign:

Fullback:
Michael Gordon (cheapie)

Wing:
David Mead (cheapie)

Centre:
Dane Gagai/Taane Milne (Milne would be cheap)

These 3 guys have all played fullback, centre and wing (except for Milne), so they are interchangable in the backline.

Halves:
Tyrone Roberts (backup - maybe fills a utility spot on the bench?)
Gareth Widdop

Props
Mautulino
Vete
Packer

Hooker
Nathan Peats

Team would look like this:

1\. Michael Gordon
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Dane Gagai/Taane Milne
4\. Moses Suli
5\. David Mead

6\. Gareth Widdop
7\. Luke Brooks

8\. Ava Seumanafagai
9\. Nathan Peats
10\. Ben Mautulino
11\. Chris McQueen
12\. Jamal Idris
13\. Elijah Taylor

14\. Tyrone Roberts
15\. Albert Vete
16\. Jesse Sue
17\. Russel Packer

In fantasy football terms you've had a fail. You've burned a trade at hooker for no great gain and burned cash in the process. Spend your money where you can make the biggest gains and for us that is not at hooker.

Well what positions are we still short on for 2018?

Fullback - Yep, we need one
Wing - Nofo on one wing, we need another, preferably speedy/tall
Centre - Suli and hopefully Milne
Five eighth - Yep, we need one
Halfback - Brooks
Prop - Matulino, re-sign Ava, Sue as a bench player, need to buy another though
Backrow - Aloiai, Lawrence, McQueen, Taylor. Still need another option here I feel. I'd look at re-signing Idris, he's starting to show potential but isn't in a position where he's playing rep football and can command massive dollars.

I'd say Connor Watson's manager would be looking for another club if this already has not been arranged.

Fullback options for tigers should go roughly in this order

Lolohea
Hopoate (could also play centre)
Dylan Edwards

No need to go for a Dugan or hayne.

Add in Milne who I've been told has actually signed on and the back line suddenly has some pace and skill.

Need one more prop. Someone like Mose masoe is a value buy and 2 edge back towers. I'd be looking at CHN from Penrith and Aiden guerra.

5/8 is tricky. Personally I'd go Tyrone Roberts. But would seriously have a crack at elgy or Shaun Johnson. Outside of that I'd get a stop gap solution for 2018 ie benji. And look to lock up Cleary for 2019.

If all appears true and there's money to spend, this is what I would go with - it's not all doom and gloom.

Losing Teddy is heartbreaking, however the money freed up will make us a better TEAM across the park without so much money invested in single individuals. The saddest part is the money offered to these players should be reserved for players who can break a game, these 4 haven't collectively delivered, therefore dispersing that cash across a team is smart management IMO.

It's also important to remember that a lot of cubs will be in trouble next year due to the NRL advising of a lower salary cap then expected - players will likely be moved to create space where possible and will allow for cheaper pickups. The Tigers seem to have anticipated this better than others and not overcapitalised:

1\. Connor Watson (played fullback for Wyong over the weekend and scored 2 tries - will only be a utility now at the Roosters with Tedesco certain for fullback. Livewire of a player and future gun.)
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Dane Gagai/Tyrone Peachey
4\. Latrell Mitchell
5\. Gideon Gela-Mosby (stuck behind a wealth of depth at the Cowboys)
6\. Shaun Johnson/Gareth Widdop (experience and solid goal kickers)
7\. Luke Brooks
8\. Ben Matulino
9\. Matt McIlwrick
10\. James Graham © (a true leader and cheaper than Woods)
11\. Chris McQueen
12\. Chris Lawrence
13\. Elijah Taylor (c)

14\. Ava Seumanufagai
15\. Sauoso Sue
16\. Nelson Asofa-Solomona
17\. Jamal Idris/Josh Aloiai/Jacob Liddle

I'd also have a look at these established players pending money leftover or if we missed out on the above:

Agnatius Paasi
Charlie Gubb
Albert Vete
Russell Packer
Nathan Brown
Taane Milne (rumours have it we've already got him)
James Roberts
Blake Ferguson
Daniel Tupou
Alex Glenn
Luke Lewis (1 yr)
Ryan Hoffman (1yr)
Bodene Thompson
Felise Kaufusi
Aiden Guerra
Tyrone Roberts
Tuimoala Lolohea
Chad Townsend
Clint Gutherson
Aaron Gray

Out of our current crop for depth:

Moses Suli (needs time to develop)
Josh Aloiai
Michael Chee-Kam
JJ Felise
Junior Tatola
Tim Grant (may go 1 more year)
Jack Littlejohn
Esan Marsters
Kevin Naiqama (good for depth only)

We've lacked depth for years, we can finally set ourselves up to be competitive across the park and when injuries strike:

Jordan Drew
Chanze Nicole-Klokstad
Kato Ottio
Kurt Mann
Sandor Earl
Dylan Edwards

Who I'd love to sign:

Coen Hess - but dreaming is dreaming

Just copy and paste the off contract list lol.
What a ridiculous post.

Fullback (Gagai or Dugan)
Wing (Ferguson)
Centre (Chambers)
Wing (Tupou or Moseby)
5/8 (Johnson, Widdop, Reynolds)
Second Row ( B Thompson)
Prop ( Matulino, Packer and Vete)

I don't know if our name amongst players is mud but there are plenty of options.

Your last line is very important because I perceive that to be the main issue. Some of the players you mentioned are going to be in pretty high demand from other clubs which means we'll be left with the scraps that we will (more than likely) pay overs for. With Teddy and Woods leaving we have absolutely no marquee players.

I rate Cleary very highly as a coach but he would have to be an absolute genius to turn this around within the next 2-3 years.

I know what position we better get used to in 2017

Because most clubs we face for the rest of the season are going to bend us over face first in the mud and just give us the pump

Hahaha this is the post of the year! Love it.

Who they lose than?

Townsends a local boy and surely would love to stay but is off contract.

Ma lonely is still on contract but is serverlly underpaid on something like 450 for the bext 2 years.

Surely there is an upside even if Cronk goes to the sharks.

I'd have either Maloney or Townsend at the tigers

**Wests Tigers Chasing Origin Duo; Report**

The are some changes in the wind at Wests Tigers following the news Aaron Woods and James Tedesco will be leaving the club at the end of the season, reports Triple M’s Brent Read from The Australian.

The Wests Tigers were keen on Dragons playmaker Gareth Widdop but it looks like that won’t happen now.

“I’d expect them to chase [NSW Origin star] Blake Ferguson potentially, and [Maroons] Dane Gagai the other one,” said Ready on Triple M Dead Set Legends.

“[Gagai] has an option in his contract and he’s got about a month to go to exercise that option.” Listen to the full audio below.

He says i expect them to chase, so basically just an opinion.

However, this Ready guy gets the best mail in my opinion of all the journos.

Gagai isn't going to leave Newcastle. He's extremely close with Nathan Brown and above that he's publicly stated in the past day or so that he is involved directly in recruiting players to come to the Hunter. Also looks like he will be given the captaincy at Newcastle now that Hodkinson has been dropped. You can pretty much count this one out, unfortunately.

I promise you two things on extremely good authority:
1- Maloney is on more than 450 lol…
2- he will never play for the Wests Tigers
