Finally the Tigers have control again and the players aren't running the show!!
Been a long time coming!! #culture

People tweeting to him to jump on the bus, he has liked everyones comments lol, take him?

I saw the same on twitter. Balmain junior apparently according to one of the follow up tweets. If he's keen let's give him a start

The way he is talking up the club, looks like he has some heart. I'd defo take him.

Yeah he's touting for a gig, that's why he's saying it.

It's 2017\. Only appropriate that twitter (a single tweet, at that) forms a part of the recruitment process.

Can we keep these in the big signing rumours thread please.

Honestly, we are going to be linked to every single off contract player from here on out, no point starting a new thread for each.

If both left their respective Clubs, would you prefer Johnson or Cronk?
Cronk, although a real pro,has 1-2 years left. Johnson could be longer term?

Can't see Johnson leaving now that Foran is confirmed to be leaving. Whilst i would definately take Johnson, i feel hes almost in the Marshall mould in that he's not so keen to get the team going forward before trying to attack.

Would prefer Cronk for those two years, hopefully we find some success and attract a good replacement for him. Right now we need experience, confidence and quality which is all Cronk. And direct play.

"I'd expect". In other words its just his opinion. And we wouldn't need both, one would suffice. Preferably Gagai. Great player, and even better name.

Gagai isn't going to leave Newcastle. He's extremely close with Nathan Brown and above that he's publicly stated in the past day or so that he is involved directly in recruiting players to come to the Hunter. Also looks like he will be given the captaincy at Newcastle now that Hodkinson has been dropped. You can pretty much count this one out, unfortunately.

You've come up with some interesting mail so far Baze. What other players do you know if that the Tigers may be looking to chase? Five eighth and fullback is an immediate concern along with centre and wing.

Cronk is in the worst form of his career. Would love him as an assistant coach but dlnt want him taking up 1mil as a player.

Just bringing attention to it before it gets buried in that thread.

It would be buried there and not all of us read everything on here

The big signings rumours thread is annoyingly long and mixed with so much crap it gives me a head ache thinking about it….if you don't like what people write maybe you shouldn't be the controller

It's hard to say at this stage, i havn't heard anything solid, but most of the player recruitment/retention was focused on Woods, Tedesco and Nofoaluma in the past couple of weeks. Now that they've made their decisions, player targets will become clearer in a week or so now that there is clarity over how much money is at Cleary's disposal.

Lewis is 100 years old, no thanks. Gagai yes, Carney is missing a Y chromosome and Tagatese doesn't have much left in the tank either. Better options out there.

Yep, fair enough. Well please keep your ear to the ground as to who our next targets may be. We need some positivity around here before Happy's depressive state spreads to the rest of us.

Gagai yes others pass. Need passionate players who want to play with us not just turn up for a paycheck. Any decent poms in the mould of Gareth Ellis?

And yet Lewis is a better back rower, playing better football than any we have that are (by your calculations) 70-80 years younger than him… He's got a good year left in him (At least), Playing great footy, a great leader and a champion bloke. We could (and have done) a lot worse.
- Perfect guide for Lawrence and other Back Rowers we have coming through...

Carney would be a great Foil for Brooks - With Forwards that give them room. - And he can kick.
- Would also come back for to oz for a song...
May be a bit of a stumbling block at the NRL - But surely they'd feel sorry enough for us now to get him over the line.

Tagatese is 30 - Just won a premiership and punching out better numbers than most of our entire pack. VERY respected by the pack at the Premiers. - Fallen down the pecking order there - But plenty to offer...

Carney is a non-starter with the NRL so forget that.
I'd take Lewis for 12 mths.
Gagai - not as a FB.
Tagatese - meh, probably better value elsewhere, but wouldn't be bad depth.

David Mead, Christian Welch and Felise Kafusi have just signed extensions with their respective teams. All three have been mentioned as possible recruits for us. The list of possible signings gets smaller.

Hodkinson could be an interesting one to partner Brooks, I know he's not a 5/8 but in all seriousness they play split most of the time, he could be that older head Brooks needs and he's a handy goal kicker. I certainly wouldnt be upset if we had a crack at him.

I thought he had serious problems with his knees?
