Not really sure about Mansour, but we do have a problem on the left wing unless Kepaoa suddenly learns how to catch. Talau is too slow for the wing IMO.

As it stands now whoever is on that left wing will be heavily targeted and lack of experience on the left wing cost us both games against Souths this year IMO.

Kapoa had eye surgery after the discovered an issue which blurred his vision when looking up...

Should have worn glasses.

It was an issue with the muscles around his eyes.

I was joking, glad he’s had it fixed - I like him as a player.

So do I, I would still have him under a lot of high balls over the preseason. Have Mbye join him as well.

If Mbye and AJ can get their handling together they’re both really good players. We all joke about Mbye but he’s a quality player.

I really like Mbye as a fullback, I always have.

Me too, when he came across mid season in 18 he was fantastic, probably our best player for the second half of the year. I think a mix of injury and lack of confidence destroyed him. If he can get his confidence back this off-season he’ll be great.

Not a fan of him at fullback. Defensively he is woeful, gets caught out of position a lot and that forces him into mistakes .

I think defensively he’s pretty solid.

It's a strength of his game. His problem is catching the footy.

When he drops a bomb it seems to effect him and he will have a run of them. AD should practice his boms every training session with Mbye waiting under them.

He’s got slick passing and a solid running game, he’s not slow. I remember in 2018 he set up some tries with some amazing passing with his passing, and he can do it on both sides.

Fingers crossed he can thrive there again!

People forget how good Mbye was in 2018 at fullback. In 2019 he never got over the knee injury from the trial, it effected his pace and therefore every aspect of fullback play. At his best he is better then Thompson and Doeuihi at 1

As a vocal critic of the club on a number of fronts, I have to say good decision to not chase Mansour, ageing wingers are a no go zone.

Hope he finds a new club and finishes his career well but not here.

I still think he has plenty to offer a club. He was still one of the top wingers last season. In reality Mansour would be a walk up start in our 17 if we signed him.

In saying all that I think not chasing him is the right decision. It’s a definite risk as I see AJ as our only option to start the season. I’m happy to back him in though. He looks a real talent.

Agree. Supporters of the decision makers on this forum are telling us to back the youth policy, we’ve already signed Tamou, it’s now time to spend some coin on some consistent NRL players with a few more tomorrow’s to help these youngsters learn what the pros is all about. Mansour is good but this contract is his superannuation policy.

Why make comments like “supporters of the decision makers youth policy “? It’s so passive aggressive .
Can I ask guys who bag the club on a consistent basis what’s your brilliant plan?

I’ve made my views very clear on this forum in the past, no real need to go over it all again mate.

Agree with that. But if we did sign him I’d have absolutely no fear about him using us as a retirement home as so many before him have.

He doesn’t seem like that sort of character and he’s definitely not that sort of player. No matter where he ends up I have no doubt he’ll give everything he’s got.

It’s part attitude with some but mainly it’s just physical at that age. You don’t heal as quick and your muscle twitch just isn’t the same. Wingers are (in general) best between 24-27 for mine.

He will play against parramatta and manly

The draw doesn't work in Packer's favour due to us playing Eels in Round 4 and then Manly in round 7 so he can only afford a 2 week suspension.

The next time we play the Parramatta scum is in round 14 which shouldn't be a problem but us playing Manly again in round 16 is a problem if he has to serve a suspension.

Big Russ will have to make sure it all looks legal and above board.

Turns out Hodgo might be the best signing we have ever had
Maybe Hodgo was planted at Hull Fc so he can sign all our plodders
I wonder if he is still on our books

On a serious note, he knows our guys and although they may not be the best players around the Nrl, a few of them would kill it over there
Mbye, Reynolds and even Packer if he could get a visa would all be great Signings for Hull
Especially if they can stay fit

Agreed - it’s his kick returns that concern me the most. He gets dominated too easily meaning our sets start poorly.
