Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If we're prepared to pay Smith equivalent to a good hooker then play him as a 13 his purchase would strengthen the team. I would not be swapping either of our hookers as they are both very good. A monetary compensation to the Storm is the preferred option.

Give them Mbye... they want a rep player and he’s played for Queensland

I would say the Mansour talk is just trying not to burn bridges incase Nofo deal falls through. I don't think we have any intentions in Mansour once he resigns which most people believe he's close to.

I don’t think one relates to the other

Nofoaluma is a right winger
Mansour is a left winger
Both bring the ball back hard
Both solid wingers
And not a bad combination on our edges
I wouldn't be upset getting Mansour at all for a year or 2 max

We dont really have any world class players in our team and I don't think we should be paying a million dollars for one either
A couple of players on the edge of greatness would be good
If Nofoaluma sticks around, and we get Mansour along with the fullback we signed from Penrith or Mbye, I wouldn't mind going real hard for both Crichton and Staggs
That would have to be close to the best back 5 in the Nrl
Then If Doueihi can kick on in the halves with Brooks, our one to seven could be set
Our Front row looks great on paper
We have two quality Hookers to choose from
Only real weakness would be our back row but I think we could find someone from within
Lj has one spot so really just after one more good back rower as we have a little depth in Garner

Crichton and Staggs would end up being just as good if not better than Gasnier and Cooper
Or Ettinghausen and McGraw

They would form a lethal combination

Mansour would be a retrograde step and all the good work done by the WTs would be undone. We don't need another slow winger who can't tackle. We already have Nofoaluma. We should be working overtime training our best youngsters to ready them for the NRL. Kepaoa. has already demonstrated he can score tries Nofoaluma can't because of his pace. Pace brings a whole new dimens ion to both the attack and defence.

Mate!!!!

Nofo scored 17 tries this year - but he can't score tries.

Give us a break ... I know you don't like him and you want a young bloke in his place .... but really, let's not make things up.

Not everyone can score an 90 metre try, in fact very few.

How many did he let in? The support you give him you would believe him to be the complete winger. Do you believe at 27 it is too much to ask of him to be a competent defender? Don't you want our team to improve? I do not support WTs because Nofoaluma is in the team. Have you ever wondered why he has not played SOO. I note you don't mind putting the boot into JAC . He is far superior to Nofoaluma. That is the reality.

I could be wrong here lads but didn't he score 17 and letin 22.

Mansour would be a means to an end. Probably not worth it, so better to wait.

I'm kinda in the same boat but the one thing about Mansour is he does dig in and do the dirty meters coming out of his own half. Add Nofa doing his usual dirty meters and you could potentially have 2-3 tackles regularly in attacking position.

Trade Mbye for Cheese please!

Doesn't even have to be the actual player, just swap Mbye for a packet of Kraft Singles.....we would still come out on the right side of the ledger with that deal.

For some time we don’t have a proper lock, Smith would be great!

Trouble is I think he really does want to play in the 9 jersey, unlike JAC who was just foxing about wanting to play fullback whilst waiting for Souths to get cap space in 2022. Hence, offering Smith a lock position won't get him here.

Tigers CEO confirms still chasing Mansour.Cowboys trying to tie up the Hammer fullback.Dogs aiming for JAC and Crichton for 2022.ALL in NRL news.--- I can't believe we want Mansour and i hope we are looking to sign at least 2 strike players for2022. I hope the Tigers with 2 mil to spend in 2022 arn:t asleep at the wheel

WHY need another has been winger? We need a second rower and a prop? That should be the priority

I think going into the season with Kepoa as our first choice left winger is very risky. There are currently a lot of holes in his game.

I’m not a Mansour fan but we need some more depth in that position. All our other outside backs are centres, even Kepoa is apparently a centre.

? meter eaters and good finishers on both sides, but AJ is quicker

I am hoping Roberts might be considered as a wing option, which helps the issue somewhat.

Except he would also keep one of the young blokes out of the run on side. The result they could go elsewhere. I’d rather bring through AJ or Talau.

Who plays wing,Momo ?Noufa-may not be here,Kepoa ?TT ?Fullback-don;t have one, maybe Mybe. Centres BJ and Jimmy both got talent but ? Halves Brooks and Doeihi, ?Benji and JR gone only Jimmy. new. Lets hope it all comes together.

When you haven’t made the 8 in 11 years that is risky

I just don’t see the need for Mansour, we have Nofa, BJ, Tommy, Momo, AJ, Hoffman,Kei and at a pinch Cini.

Would you take him if it meant getting Laurie early though? Kind of like when the Sharks got Fafita for taking on Gibbs.

No. He would block the progression of one of our younger players, take up a top 30 spot and $. Laurie is on a development contract. To retain him at the Panthers, imo they would need to upgrade him to a NRL spot and contract which would place further pressure on their cap. If they cannot do that, he should be released. We have Mbye.

Here we go again! Let's give a big message to any aspiring young player, do not go to Wests Tigers, they prefer slow, old has-beens, so you up-and-comers do not get a go. The Club talks about building a culture, so why go back to the old tried and failed AGAIN.NO to Mansour!!!Let's build a culture that gives us the reputation of giving good up-and-coming players a fair go!.

These kids have to learn off some 1 Mansour has been there and done it he will set an example for these kids to follow

Great idea - we could get Mansour and he could show our youngsters how to run slow, (wouldn't run out of sight on a dark night in the blue mountains) and he could show them how to drop every second ball and get out jumped.

Don't need him, don't want him .... this is not a retirement home anymore!

Pretty similar stats
Only difference is Mansour has played a few more games
Just like tigers, Penrith struggled for many years

If we aren't interested in the slightest in Mansour, then we shouldn't be to worried about Nofoaluma finding another club
Both players have been very guilty of having off games
We need competition in all areas
If the young guys are good enough they keep Mansour out of the team

Obviously if we are able to sign an Addo-Carr or similar then they would take precedent over someone like Josh

Over to you Madge

I dunno..

For me personally I feel like Brandon Smith will be too dominate for Luke Brooks..

While on the other hand, Liddle is the perfect match for Luke..

Plus the way I see it.. imagine this..

Jacob Liddle takes off after quick play the ball from James Tamou, passes inside to Luke on the left and then Luke plays it to James Roberts on the right! AND THE TIGERS TRY! such speed would be crazy..

Not also to mention I don’t think I’ve seen any inside out plays done in ages at all this year!

We have Mbye.

That's a joke right?.
Perhaps if this scenario is true, WTs should have thought this through before rushing to sign Nofoaluma. That his re-signing appears to be happening, taking Mansour is not an option. It is one or the other, not both.

Mbye isbetter that Mansour.

Why would we be even thinking of taking Mansour we should only pillage Penriff when its to our benefit otherwise let them suffer.I would much rather blood some of the young blokes WT'S have they've got to start somewhere.

Hooker and wing are not our priority for 2021 ...... second row and /or lock is!
Situation with Smith potential signing is very much dependant on whether his desire is focused on being a out and out hooker or to take up a more flexible role similar to what he currently has at the Storm.
If former ..... then we need time to assess whether Liddle stays healthy and Simpkins shows promise during upcoming season.
If latter ..... then sign him now for +2022 as we could use a player with such flexibility's.
