A Crichton is a no for me,did nothing at the roosters for a long time, and only having a go now because they wanted to move him on,800k+ for someone who will go back into cruise mode...no thanks

Our forwards looking ok, our priorities are every other position ,

We are looking good on middle forwards but second rowers are where Old Mother Hubbard is. We really only have three realistic starters in Luci, Garner & Blore, after that it’s MCK, Seyfarth and a promoted development kid

Agree, unless one of our own "Blore" or others jumps out of the box the pickings are slim.
Crighton, Mcinness, Fincunne, Yeo and Harris are top shelf but will be hard to remove from their current sides. More realistic and established players would be B Smith, Sironen, Sua, Capewell, Peachey, Fitzgibbon, who are all off contract next year.
That leads me to the players lacking opportunity / limited minutes players, ie Young, Niukora, Butcher x Brothers, J Curran Bunty Afoa and S Talakai.

Now for out of the box players C Watson, would cover full-back, hooker, and 5/8 and eventually to be a roving ball distributing lock. Injuries cruelled him last year, achilles I think, but this kid 24 years, 90kgs, and a threat with the ball. Could he handle the middle, he started 7 times at 9 for 80 minutes except once in 2019 for the Knights yes he can. Size/weight too small, anyone heard of Murray and Radley they go alright, he would only need to play 65min, covers hooker, "and still a threat" this allows Madge a different dimension to our bench. 2 years with a third in the club's favour at 500 with KPI's, worst case we have a much better version of Mybe sitting at 14 at half the price.
Cheaper than B Smith but would allow us to have cover before deciding which hooker going forward Liddle/Simpkin as I dont think we will able to keep both

I'd rather give Mbye a go at lock than waste money and a roster spot on Watson. Mbye is the same size as Murray and only a couple of kilos lighter than B Smith. He has played in the middle and the last time he played hooker he made 59 tackles and only missed 1. He has ball playing ability and would be quick for a lock.

It’s a reasonable idea but I don’t think Mbye’s heart would be in it. He’s really not that professional when it’s not what he wants (my opinion).

He'd get more injuries ......

Don't know about the full-time gig, but he could well fill the role against a side late in the game.

Agreed, those small forwards get by on guts, aggression and sheer determination. I don't see any of those qualities in Mbye.

That's exactly the concern I would have. I think he could handle it but whether he would have the heart to take the line on in the middle is another thing.

Great choice

There are comments his contract includes payment for potential. More for him, less for Crichton.

Ivan shut down burton 2021 release and said Laurie still on the table if we take mansour

Interesting. They need Mansour gone to make a competitive offer to re-sign Crichton?

Let’s do it, we need Laurie now and Mansour would be handy at a cheap rate. Ivan can take his love child Packer in return, Penrith are short of a forward or two 😉

They can take Packer. The dud brothers together wouldn’t hurt...

Makes no difference. Mansour and Crichton are both off contract at the same time.

They probably want to use Mansour’s money to replace Laurie.

No. Let's hold out and try and get Crichton instead

Everything Wests Tigers
@EverythingWests
Zac Cini and Daine Laurie have been both training with the Penrith Panthers. Very interesting. Hope we haven’t released Cini regardless, would be a complete waste

He posts on the forum here.. probably not a Tigers supporter.. 15 year old wanting to get a Instagram following and supports players not coming to the Wests Tigers.

What a stupid thing to say hahahaha

Probably is, wont speak the mind next time.

other then that, can anyone provide any information on the camp that the team went to over the last 3 days? Wonder if they smashed it while doing so.. personally i'd be putting them into another camp during Jan-Feb.

Camp????

Boys went on a 3 day intensive army camp and just got back today. Seems most clubs do it these days tbh

Would be cool if they show exclusive content of the camp. I know penrith did it last pre season

They definitely got smashed, was watching them

Could be the reason for the hold up.

But the tough decision is will he just be using us to bring up panthers price like everyone else.
