Let's hope if true it doesn't drag out for 3 to 4 months
If he has that offer on the table, we should request a quick decision
2 to 3 weeks should be more than enough time to decide if he wants our money and a starting Hooker position at our club
That also allows us to plan around Liddle and Simpkin
Last thing we want is these two players signing elsewhere getting cold feet and we end up getting ZILCH

There is no way that Hartigan is going to offer anywhere near $700K a season for McInnes.
Why do we even need to think about another hooker, we have that position covered, unless Madge is looking for a lock.

I find 700k very hard to believe given all the talk of putting realistic values on players.

If we are looking at spending $700,000 on McInnes , someone needs there head read , I would not pay that to get Smith , maybe $600,000 , but we need to give Liddle and Simpkin a go at the spot , we need a backrower or two with that money

Our he could be looked at to play lock and as a back up hooker to give Liddle or Simpkin a rest during the game
It would also put a Cracker up the backsides of both Simpkin and Liddle to perform or be replaced
Whether $700'000 is the right figure to offer or is even the correct figure that we have offered is something we will never know
McInnes is a very good solid 80 minute player
It would allow us to have a front row rotation of
Tamou Ofahengaue Twal Musgrove and Mikaele or Stefano
Back row of LL Blore and Garner

That pack then looks very solid and hard to beat

They’re offering $700k? That’s probably overs. He’s a good player but he’s not a game breaker, more a consistent performer who won’t let you down.

He offers more than just his ability. His presence and attitude are second to none. Captaincy material.

That’s true, he’s a fantastic leader. His work ethic is second to none. Could also play some time at lock so we can carry a hooker on the bench, assuming he wants to play hooker which is what I’ve read

I think so too. Even $600k is a better price

$500k maybe. I don’t think he’s worth more than that. He’s a pretty good hooker and a pretty good lock. Cheese is much better in both positions.

I would argue that McInnes is one of the better hookers in the game. Sure he’s not worth $700k, but he’s a quality player. Made the NSW squad, one of the best defenders in the league, great runner of the footy too, he’s more than just effort and he’s in his prime.

If a decent price can be arranged I’m all for it, would rather a top hooker than waiting around another 2-3 years for one of our guys to hopefully come good. If Liddle or Simpkin fires this year then we might not even need McInnes

He’s free to talk to any other club, he’s off contract come 2022. Xavier Coates was spotted talking to Bellamy too.

Friend is a similar player. Korisau maybe on par. Paying him 700k is a sure way to blow the money freed up when some of our other overpaid stars leave.

Liddle could be his equal and based on noise Simpkin better.

We have more pressing needs.

I wouldn't get McInnes for the hooking role. Maybe as a lock. We have let two of our hardest workers go, in Eisenhuth and Taylor. The new rule changes only accentuate the need for the older style lock forward, who is agile, has big lungs and does a heap of work. McInnes certainly does this. Not for $700K however - maybe 600?

That pushes McInnes to Lock and 80 minute player
This strengthens our pack

Another quality half may be required if the Doueihi/ Brooks combination doesn't work but this can go on hold for now as we need to see how this works out

The rest of our squad is looking good

I would be very happy to land McInnes
If not McInnes then the Cheese but he wants the Hooking roll
If that happens then we will lose Liddle and Simpkin you would imagine

Off topic but benji made the tigers. We were nothing before him. The biggest reason why we have so many fans. Greatest West Tiger ever.

Which makes his behaviour disappointing. What’s he doing now? Should have retired a Tiger, and should have got the send off he didn’t get the first time round. But his ego wouldn’t allow it. Sad.

I doubt given our reluctance now to pay overs we would offer McInnes $700k, $600k at most. Though at the end of the day no one knows what we've offered him or if we have even made him an offer yet (although if Hartigan was present it would give the meeting a bit more weight).
