I don't think that's the way the game is going, mainly with the 6 again rule. I think you need more ball playing ability and speed off the bench now

I tend to agree, 80 minute hooker is ideal. Just not sure we have anyone who could play 80 mins there.

Hooker is one of the most important positions on the field touches the ball more than anyone... by 2022 our spine can’t all be young guys we hope live up to potential. We need proper top players there

He wants to be 9 and we need a 13, He is the captain of their club, and unless we are offering him big money which is unlikely judging by our current recruitment policy its a no... I would take him at 13 but i suppose it good to see us linked to top line players.

Yeah but you want an extra forward coming on defensively that can help the middle 3rd out as well ...usually our problem isn't attack ....it is keeping sides under 20


And is usually proven year after year that good defence will get you into the 8

Of course a player is going to say that when he is trying to get a massive pay day.. He has stated in the past that he would prefer 9 and me personally would not sign him as our 9 with us already having LIddle / Simpkins..
Don't get me wrong he is a great player and if he was happy to play 13 i would not be saying no.

Liddle/Simpkin may be that player. We don't know. Brandan Smith or McInnes to me would be great but mainly because they can play at lock as well.

We need more than just the hooker to step up as well. Do we have a player who is a proven gun in the spine ? I don't think we do.

Liddle/Simpkin may be that player. We don't know. Brandan Smith or McInnes to me would be great but mainly because they can play at lock as well.

This is true...

It’s all well and good to get excited about our forward pack but our spine consists of 2 unknown number #9s, an inconsistent Brooks who at his best can be serviceable, an unproven AD and nobody knows who will take the field at #1 yet.

Well it’s bit of a puzzle that couple of latest pre season training photos published on the west’s tigers website don’t feature Packer.
