It’s possible we are signing Mansour because Nofo has rejected us for the Eels...

That's Nofo's call.
If he'd rather kiss that slimy eel on his jersey than our Mighty Tiger, well then, see 'ya later mate.

I could be wrong but i doubt i shall ever see that happening.I will always respect 1 team players especially if they are there for the long term

Me too, which is why I get disappointed when honest whole hearted players like Tim Mannah cop crap.
Now I'm ready to cop crap for the comment.

Can’t believe the rubbish on here.

We don’t need 2 potential players (Lids and Simpkin) in a hooker role we need established players with potential putting pressure on the established players. If the potential players are good enough they will end up starting.

Lids hasn’t shown any signs of being able to last 80mins week to week for an nrl season & if we have all our eggs in that basket it’s very high risk. Hope he proves me wrong but history is very much against him.

I don’t think there related there was an article saying signing delays were due to players wanting more $$ or mansour case extra years I’d say the club would be happy to take nofo and mansour

For mine there is a lot of talk around players whom (even if they could add something to the club) we don't really need (or want) such as Josh Mansour. Or players whom we are little to no chance of signing such as both Crichtons. I hope we are pursuing these fanciful signings, if all it does is drive their market value up for their current clubs. On that note there is a young bloke down in Melbourne who I would like the club to target.
Jack Howarth is an 18 year old backrower who has absolutely dominated at every level. He is first grade ready but stuck behind 2 international players. He will be a 10 year origin backrower once he gets into first grade. An 'overs' contract offered to him now would represent value in the coming years, similar to Titans signing big Tino just before he broke out. I hope we chase him hard, even if we don't get him, ensure the Storm don't resign him on the cheap.

Good post. And the million dollar question for Pascoe in one of his #asktheboss, Why do we have little to no hope of signing either of the Crichton’s? What needs to change?

Man , who said that ? How do you know that ? Maybe Angus goes from left right out to the man at the roosters because Cordner is done . Maybe Steve is a Penrith boy through and through, and just wants his manager to squeeze every last dollar ? Maybe it’s bad juju to pay a winger 700k to play 5 games of fullback, when he will inevitable go back to the wing , as the only ones who think he will succeed there are his manager , and a delusional Trent Barrett . And pay a kid who 12 months ago wasn’t even rated the top 3 number 6 at his club , 650k a year .
I like our recruitment , a lot more than the hyped up bulldogs . Seriously ?
Within 2 years there will be a million stories about how it all went wrong , and how Barrett ruined their club .
Burton is ok , I guess , but many people think he’s a Curtis/ Matterson/ Graham/ type who will move to the back row , not a 6 of the future .

If we use our money wisely and not try to buy every forward that comes on the market we can buy anyone.**JAC was wise,as a winger he looked at our backline and realised it would be a tough gig'**.If we buy or manufacture a good halves combo(maybe Laurie at 5/8).Pay overs for Crichton and show future gains in the backs to him as well as Tamou,Bore, and Laurie already here. we must be a chance. If not theres a ton of talent off contract in 2022

Did JAC tell you this. My understanding was that he went for the best dollar offer he could get. I don't see Canterbury as having a better team than us either.

You have to be able to discern the difference between your fantasies and reality.

I doubt Mansour or McInnis will be Tigers.Nobodys that dumb not to see these positions are not our main concern,.

Maybe Mansour but don’t agree about McInnes. Not only is he interchangeable between Hooker and Lock, he is competitive, passionate, a leader and hates to lose. Sounds like Madge is dumb enough to see he would be a quality addition.

Another one that can't read a post correctly,Madge was not even mentioned in the post. And how do you or anyone else knows if they were trying to recruit him? There is a recruitment team that weighs up the pros and cons,Madge is not the sole recruiter.I'm sure the club has spoken to many players and for many reasons were not deemed suitable.

Here is a scenario. If the Knights were to get rid of Pearce as the situation becomes untenable, would you be interested for 2 years? We would be the only club in a position to, unless hes willing to go to a club for next to nothing.

I thought we recently paid $630k for a 5/8 who we tried at FB while we waited for Benji to retire? Where do we move him if we take on an aging $1m half?

McInnes and S Crichton are smart targets,Jaydn Sua would bring intimidation in defence and good line running in attack, if the club could jag 2/3 or all it would be great recruiting

No interest in Pearce at all. The guy is a goose and his form at the end of this year was atrocious.

Must have had his head thinking about other things.

You don’t need a long neck and feathers to be a goose.

Pearce doesn't fit the culture we're building. He'd be an upgrade over Brooks sure, but given his age, character and what we're striving to be as a club - big no.

He was playing like Benji end of last year.... atrocious defence and some strange kicks, but no moments of brilliance in between. Big no thanks to Pearce

Lol here we go.....

Lids has had many cracks at the NRL and his injuries aren’t just bad luck. His body hasn’t been able to hold up. Some players can others can’t. Hard to not be cautious about it. Can’t compare his pathway to that of Grant.

Simpkins is a while off playing 80mins, he has no one infront of him if he is good enough he will be a walk up starter for us as to his nrl quality it’s unknown especially not playing for 12mths due to COVID.

Harry had the Aussie 9 & NZ 9. He was also preferred ahead of Lids and Simpkins which says a fair bit as well. He was also playing regular footy which Lids and Simpkins hasn’t been able to do for some time.

0ur 9's are talented, but agree that they're both unproven.

They need a chance in 2021, and I want to see it.
