even mentioned in the post.And how do you or anyone else knows if they were trying to recruit him?There is a recruitment team that weighs up the pros and cons,Madge is not the sole recruiter.I’m sure the club has spoken to many players and for many reasons were not deemed suitable.



Here is a scenario. If the Knights were to get rid of Pearce as the situation becomes untenable, would you be interested for 2 years? We would be the only club in a position to, unless hes willing to go to a club for next to nothing.


I thought we recently paid $630k for a 5/8 who we tried at FB while we waited for Benji to retire? Where do we move him if we take on an aging $1m half?

What’s your opinion on the dogs paying JAC 700k, cotric 600k and burton 650k ? The Flanagan buy was like 350-400k . I think that’s a good buy personally . The others are a huge risk IMO . JAC , at least will be the most overpaid elite winger in the game , so there’s that , but cotric on 600k , with that forward pack and lack of room , can’t be good . And burton wasn’t exactly Ponga coming through where giving him 600k was a calculated risk . I don’t see what the buzz is about personally . He’s not a better than say 20th half in the comp , so they really are banking on him getting to top 10 . Which is what that money indicates . That to me is a panic buy . At least Mbye when we signed him was playing amazing football.

If Mbye was playing amazing football they would have kept him.

Lol are you serious ? When we grabbed him , he was in the form of his life . That was the same year , they let woods go after 8 games , Klemmer go at the end of the year , and mbye go mid year as well. Thier cap , was gone . At least try to be objective .

My recollection was that Mybe was exactly the same at the Bulldogs as he has been here - tried in various positions and never cemented himself in any.
In saying that I think he had a reasonable year this year just not equivalent to how much he reportedly earns .

Played the entire last season at Bulldogs at Fullback and did well (IMO thats his spot). Previous season played halfback for all but a few games.

What space would Laurie & Mansour leave in the squad? We are still short 2nd rowers unless they are seriously considering playing Bradley there.

Unless we are looking (and likely) to move someone on. How much room do we have in our cap?

Does anyone know if we can just pay someone out their full contract to leave and then bring in a replacement?

Well if true hopefully we can get a full pre season with Laurie at fullback, Doueihi and Brooks in the halves and Liddle at Hooker
Just because we get Mansour doesn't mean we lose Nofoaluma
They play opposite wings
I know many dont agree with Mansour coming but he will add to our defence and experience
Competition will be a good thing for our club

Yeh that’s what I’m thinking. I hope not but been so many 100%s for us lately it’s hard to take in ay mate

He is one of the guys I had tagged. Other one would be Cini. I don't think that either are likely to see first grade. I wonder if the deal also involves Cini going the other way (if on the money).

If jet fails Talau is in and vice versa
I like the competition
It will push all of our players harder
We need our players to cement their spots by effort
Not by default
Same goes for Mbye
If he wants to play he will need to work his backside off
We now have some decent cover should someone go down
Did anyone stop to think that by getting Mansour, it may help in re signing Nofoaluma
They both run the ball back very hard
Mansour has a better tackle efficiency
Nofoaluma won't feel like he has to do it all himself
Add to that I believe a much better forward pack and Captain? With big game experience and a Jet
Nofoaluma would be excited with what he is seeing
Add to that we will have another 8 roster spots available next year, he has to be thinking this is starting to look much better
We can all see that so he must as well

It might be that someone has decided that BJ is not worth anywhere near 700k. Nofa and Mansour wingers for the next couple of years with AJ, Talau & Momo to fight for centre spot beside (or instead of) JTJ.

i dont think getting Laurie a season early is worth getting Mansour ....even if it is only for a season or two ....just my opinion
