Yep. Players seem to like Barrett for some reason - he was awful last time he was a head coach, no amount of good signing will fix that.

Probably not, unless they buy him any outdoor table.

Good one .. Barrett is unprofessional, blew the whistle on his colleagues and cried crocodile tears over an outdoor table he had to bring in from home - no wonder Manly put this sooky baby on the slide.

Excuse me for big noting here but I mentioned we were about to sign AJ, Kelma Tuilagi and Tuki Simpkins about a month before AJ actually signed. Three out of three.

Any more recruitments news ?

Nothing solid

So when's he coming so you can get 4/4.....lol

You can take Widdop off the list

We are using the strengths of our recruitment staff to attract mainly the best young players on the cusp of the NRL. It is a realistic strategy which will position WTs as a leading club for the future. The Bulldogs recruitment has a highlight in JAC but appears to be more a scattergun approach. I would be worried if Barrett does not achieve immediate success.

Dogs buying Allan, reminds me of our panic buys.We have a few guys we bought that were maybes and lacked speed. Now we are trying to find positions for them.

Simpkins looks to be a handy pickup, you can see what Madge is trying to do, he is building for 2022 as a breakthrough year, if we can hang in there and develop these young guys and pick up a marquee player this season or next I think we'll have a good run for a few years. Liddle looks like he's put on muscle but that knee worries me, anyone have updates on him?

JAC is the only one I wanted here. The rest are ok or un proven.

Seems that they're spending their entire xap in the first year and the digs will have these guys locked in for 3 years.

If they dont do well they might struggle again..

Over the past few seasons WT always seem to be without a reliable goa; kicker. Think how many tines the club have lost close matches because of this missing link. There is still time but 2021 appears to be heading in the same direction.

I believe Richards is doing a lot of mentoring, but on what players?Momo and Doeihi ?The problem is they may not be in the run on side after a few games. We don't know how the side will pan out.

Madge and Hartigan signing all of these talented young guys is great but at the end of the day it’s a lucky dip. They are hoping one or two develop into good first graders, maybe rep players.

My worry is they eventually let the wrong ones go... again.

I share your worries, but Hartigan appears to hold the recruitment reins, and in a short time has shown that favouritism has no place in the game,as well he plans ahead. He won't be perfect but he's one of the best in the game.

Hartigan clearly knows what he's doing. We signed Reynolds, Mbye, Packer and Matulino for half the cap before him and he signs Grant (yes I know it was a swap) and Luc for peanuts.
The guy will do what the Roosters do, get great value for money in the forwards and will spend big in the spine and backrow. This time next year I guarantee you we'll have a genuine marquee signing in the spine

They look to be going all out for this year, and it can take a while to build combinations with so many changes .It's the future they have to worry about,Dezi and others stuffed their roster before with back ended contracts etc.It appears Barrets been given an open chequebook, where most clubs now have specialised recruitment staff.

The Dogs had the Morris twins and were awful. Spending big on a bunch of outside backs is not how you win this comp. Expect them to continue to finish 8th to 14th for the next 4 years

Dogs were actually competitive for large chunks of games last year but couldn’t score points, I’d say they are filling needs with NRL proven players or ones that look like they have upside (Burton/Hetherington). Honestly I think they’ll push for top 4 maybe miss due to a lack of a hooker.

Top 8

Penrith
Raiders
Roosters
Souths
Storm
Dogs?
Titans?
Parra?

Tigers
Knights
Manly
Sharks
New Zealand
Nth Qld
Broncos
Dragons

True I actually forgot about their halves signings. Unproven though

Do you honestly think the dogs will push for top 4 in 2021?!

No chance. They won't make the 8. They may get close to the 8 in 2021 when JAC and Burton join the team.

Agree, I don’t know the exact numbers for there cap, but they appear to have gone all in for the next few seasons, with not much room to improve their team further if this falls over.

Barrett wouldn’t give me a lot of confidence after his stint at Manly, though he may have learnt some lessons?

I think the Dogs are on a money adrenilen high.To much power to one man,and to many changes too quickly.I think even with our backline doubts we will finish ahead of them.

Cotric and Allen are upgrades and Flanagan will give them direction. Their pack is NRL standard. I have them 4th-9th. If they miss it’ll be due to Marshall-King at hooker.
