Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We need one more guy who leads by example, someone who is 100% effort and drags his teammates along. I believe that guy would support Tamou and possibly Joffa (yet to prove himself but i have a good feeling about him), and show the rest of our younger guys the way. Angus Crichton, B Smith, and McInnes are this type of player and would really round our pack out.
As for a fullback, I hope Mbye or Laurie can show us the quality that is required in a top 4 team in that position.

No I like big joe for the 13 , blore and Leila in the back row , but yes it would be nice to have another gun backrower .

Pretty sure @cochise was saying that JO stats at 13 are much worse than his output at 8.
Might be wrong thought...

Its more his starts in the second row are the problem. I believe there is an interest in finding a ball playing 13, I think that was why we were talking to Cam McInnes.

Understood, I think a ball playing 13 is a must at the moment, but isn't McInnes still keen to play 9?

He is, but I think our interest was in him playing 13. I don't know anything in that regard, just me guessing.

Agreed. Angus Crichton would be my first choice and I would throw the kitchen sink at him.

I've just skipped 10 pages and people are still waffling on about Jason Taylor. I hate the off season.

Sorry precious.
Thats the thing about forums, sometimes the topic isn't your cup of tea.
Take a bex and have a snooze.

If you want to talk about coaches that's fine, make a thread about it and go nuts. Just don't hijack this thread and fill it with dribble over Potter and Taylor.

I was just joining the conversation regarding coaches. I wasn't the instigator.
If you don't like it just keep skipping pages like I do. No need to parade your disgust. If we all did that we wouldn't have a forum.
Pages of plodder suggestions has the same effect.

Really when you look at who we have signed and who we currently have .. the signing of James Tamou is going to be the key to our clubs future .. he has the ability to be a very inspirational leader to our younger guys in setting up our forward pack and club for the next few years. Having Zane Musgrove, Alex Twal, Thomas Mikaele, Stefano Utoikamanu, Jake Simpkin, Lucy Leilua, Shawn Blore, Tukimihia Simpkins, Kelma Tuilagi and Joe Ofahengaue all players early to mid 20's and some of the most exciting young forwards going around we have the potential of having one of the most dominate packs in the comp for a few years to come .. !! I haven't been this excited in our clubs direction and future since the mid to late 80's .. !! So let us all do our part by getting behind this team and giving them our best support as Mighty Tigers supporters .. !! im sure this year will have its ups and downs for us all, but I'll be giving them my 100 per cent support, as I bleed black, orange and white .. !! Tigers supporter since the late 60's .. !! gawd sorry for my little rant .. sounding like I'm part of the marketing team here.. 🙂 But go the Mighty Tigers .. !!

I’d do some bad things for a signing rumour right now. Someone make something up so I can run with it for the next week 😂

If you look at Lauries stats,he is something special.I'm sure the Panthers will hate us for getting under their guard.I like all the players you mentioned, but we need to see the effect of JO,Simkin,Steff and even Blore have on the side.Laurie will be FB maybe this year but definitly next year. The 5/8 position is our prime concern in my opinion, with Tannous a chance for 2022 but this year Doeihi or Madden have to step up.If we get this position firing and Mbye or Kepoa performs we wil do very well.

I believe JO is not bad with the offload as well as Tamou, this was a weakness last year.

Suggestion if forum members want to engage about past coaches and there performances why not create a separate posting for discussion or reminiscing on past failures.

Thought this was about Signing Suggestions and Rumours??

Personally would like to move forward and forget about past failures and only read about possible signings in relation to what is also reported in the media to verify or listen to other forum members informed feedback on that topic only.

I've got a couple of mates that played U/20's a few years ago for Canberra, and they say that Daine Laurie was the most dominating player they ever came across in their time in the system. obviously it's not first grade, but he was unstoppable in that grade. time will tell, but he may well end up the better player out of Staines, Edwards and himself.

Yes another scoop from insideman with benji to the chooks. His latest scoop is the jet will be given a crack at fullback

Well the scoop is on $150k for 1 season for Benji???
Think Cowboys were offer at least double but did not want to relocate with 2nd child on the way, understandable.

Nofo asking for a 4 year deal at the Tigers and club only offering 3 years, has now sparked souths interest as well as eels.

What happens with these negotiations might also effect Mansour and Laurie but just speculating this but sounds logical.

Will be an interesting decision which way the club goes.

JTJ i hear he has only just returned to full time training, fullback is an issue for us i am sure the coaching staff afre trying various options to see what is the best fit.

There is a problem with my quoting system, I don’t have the option to quote.

But, I disagree on the Potter note. Out of all our sacked coaches, he was the best one. He had our side clicking, Tedesco/Brooks were on fire. He had a bad run with injuries which resulted in us dropping out of the 8 in one season, the other was riddled by Farah sega before the biggest game of our season. He unfortunately had to deal with the ego’s within our side that we somehow cannot get rid of.

We get rid of them, but then invite them back :face_with_head_bandage:

We can only hope mate ay!! Fingers crossed we can get him over early

I'm not really that excited about our 2021 team to be honest, the only standout is JTJ and JT and I really rate AD. Every year it's the same though, there is enough bait to tantalise the supporters hopes but we always fall short because our roster is inadequate. Having said that if we can score a late quality winner the carrot get bigger, let's hope! Still a diehard supporter though.
