Here's hoping for a very promising & successful 2021.

Nofoaluma talks are progressing/promising, the sticking point is most certainly the 3/4 year deal side of things, club recently came back with a counter offer of a 4 year deal but the 4th year being in the clubs favor, this was submitted in the last couple days.

Madge/Club really liking the looks of young Allan Fitzgibbion, every chance of snagging a top 30 spot on minimum wage for 2021, only concern is attitude/application towards doing the extras needed but club surrounding with the right people to get him on track.

Panthers still not playing ball in relation to Laurie, but the club will keep a top 30 spot open for him till it has to be filled.

Remaining spot looking to go towards a utility forward/lock.

Mbye has had some discussions with clubs north of the border over the break & would like to move back to QLD but nothing solid yet to come from it. Also Walters to Brisbane talk won't go away, if that does eventuate the club will look for another utility half type for depth purposes, no names yet if this comes to fruition.

Also Cini still likely to leave the club but the spot would more likely be filled with a train & trial player like Tyrone Roberts-Davis

Great insight mate.

Interesting you mention Allan Fitzgibbon's attitude. A good friend of mine that has played a lot of first grade and also with Allan Fitzgibbon previously, said to me when I told him he was at the Tigers *"Well, I hope he has changed his attitude. As it was very ordinary for a player wanting to make the NRL".*

Glad that the Tiger's may have picked up on this early as it could also explain why the Panthers let him go from their Cup side, however from games I saw him play, he was outstanding on game day, but may not be the right fit outside of this.

Also regarding Cini. He met with the Panthers prior to Christmas, seems this one may not happen, unless things have changed since, as the Tiger's wouldn't let him take his management with him to the meeting, as Madge is keen to keep him onboard.

Just me 2 cents for what it is worth.

I played juniors with a guy who was always late and sometimes wouldn’t show up to games unless you arranged him a lift with another one of the dads, he went on to the highest level of the game.

Sometimes it’s not attitude it’s other influences in a young guys life, particularly some cultures, WT showing this bloke some love could pay off in spades.

Good post, in regards to Fitzgibbon, don’t we have Timana Tahou (spelling) to help him as well?

He looks a beast, just the way Madge likes them I think.

Trust me, he’s not going anywhere

I hope you are right. Easily one of our best players.

I believe he will play plenty of 1st grade this year. And agree. I don’t get why he has so many critics

It's not that he has critics. A lot of us see a slow technically very good centre. People on here overstate how good he is. I want him to stay but surely he won't be the first picked option in the centres or if he is given a go there I fully expect Roberts and BJ or even Talau to get his spot at some point.

He is an average player. I've seen people state Madge has guaranteed him a spot and that he is potentially the captain. This is guy who hasn't at any point proven he is anything more than a fringe first grader.

I reckon as a squad member he is a great option or as a moneyball player where you stack other positions in the team he is a great option. We have BJ, Roberts and Talau all vying for a centre spot. I wouldn't pick Momo ahead of any of them assuming those guys are available.

He gets a lot more people on here saying he is average though. People have short memories of how good he was at the back end of 2019 for us. We ended up winning something like 6 of our last 9 games with him in the side and he had scored 9 tries in 6 games

The guy has played 21 games and scored 14 tries. If you can find me a fringe player that has a similar strike rate, be my guest (in before Jennings)

Random stat but Momo has scored 14 tries in 19 first grade games which is a pretty impressive strike rate
Sure speed is great but it’s not the only thing

Whenever you’re talking tries it pays to eliminate the catch and place the ball over the line ones, I think Momo has a few of those playing in some classy sides.

To be fair most of them weren't like that. Some of the tries he scored were actually class. I think it was the Dragons game he bagged a hattrick, he got on the outside of Aitkens (lol) then came back inside and swabbed off 3-4 defenders. Another was a 90m intercept and the last one may have been a fall over the line

I think this is a really good point, and the fact he’s got Roberts and Roberts-Davis around him, who’ve both played NRL should help him, particularly jimmy. He’s played at the highest level so hopefully he’s pushing Allan to work just as hard alongside him.

Seems like the club are putting some time into him which is good, who knows would could come out of it, it’s all up to Allan now. Moeaki Fotuaika started on a train and trial and now he’s playing origin

Liddle is a kid - certainly not a plodder.

It looks like we are going to give him a go, that should make you happy Sleeve.

I like Liddle as well, my comments were mainly aimed at the lack of variety and enthusiasm in this area,we just looked bland in our attack. We relied on overlaps, and long balls to the wings, and not enough through the center. Cheers mate!

Well I respect your opinion Earl but....

You describe Momo as "an average player" and "a guy who at any point has not proven he is anything more than a fringe first grader."

I don't agree but you may well be correct in your assessment - however I do think that if you believe that - I can't possibly see how you can say that Talau (13 games, 8 tries) is vying for a centre spot with JTJ and Joey and Momers (19 games, 14 tries) is not. Plus the fact Momers has a tackle efficiency of 77.2% and Talau 69.2%.

At this stage, I don't think Talau is any better than Momers and from watching their games Momers tries were much more difficult and when little else was on.

As I say, you may well be correct - however I don't think you are doing Momers justice by saying he is average and writing him off.

Not trying to be smart - I think you need to look at Momers tries again if you think most of them were put the ball down over the line.

Trust me, he’s not going anywhere

I'm a fan, and want him around, just don't know where we can fit him.

Sounds like you know how we'll use him?

My mate is good friends with him, reckons he loves the tigers a lot and can’t thank them enough for giving him the opportunity. Also madge really does rate him

No idea how we’ll use him but the feedback I get is he’ll be used somewhere

That's very interesting, I don't doubt your information at all - but I've just had the sense he wouldn't be too happy there given the lack of opportunity, then the signing of JTJ.

I can only think of a place for him at fullback (I know, no pace) or 5/8 if AD fails - both positions maybe a stretch for him, but better that than wing and I don't see him getting ahead of JTJ/BJ if either play as well as they can.

Momo centre/Roberts wing. Just my opinion though, could be wrong

I think it’s definitely something madge has thought about. Helps Momo is a quality kicker too

All things are possible for sure but thought Momorovski played mainly as a winger in his 11 starts in 2019

Article here and I get it's just some random's opinion but it ranked Nofa & Momo as the 7th best wing pairing in 2019. He was very good for us in 2019

Momers has played 11 games as a centre for 10 tries.
6 games on the wing for 4 tries,
1 at FB and 1 off the bench - in both he didn't cross the line.

That is 19 games for 14 tries - most were not just put the ball down.

He's faster than Dooey, scores at a better rate than any of our other centre candidates, kicks goals, tackles well and has played in two premiership winning teams. Wish we had a few more average players like him.

Adam Hartigan was Roosters recruitment manager when they signed Crichton in late 2017 for 2019 on

None of that means anything but at least you’d think we have some trustworthy contacts from an Angus Crichton point of view to at least test the waters with him
To me he’d be our biggest ever signing and perhaps one that would take our team to the next level

Spoke to Adam late last year and asked him what the focus was recruitment wise. He said lock forward (This was after the signing of Joe O).

I then asked him who he considered a good lock based on matrix/analysis and he said Angus.

Liddle is definitely not a plodder just an unlucky young guy similar to another player we had one B Marshall who like Liddle was possibly introduced to FG to early before he grew into his body but once it all came together there was no stopping him from some glimpses of him in FG last year I think this could be the case with Liddle

Don't understand the concern about Momo, he's a very handy player who's shown to be better than Talau and Kepoa. Also Crichton needs to be priority number 1. We're definitely a top 8 side with him

There is a problem with my quoting system, I don’t have the option to quote.

But, I disagree on the Potter note. Out of all our sacked coaches, he was the best one. He had our side clicking, Tedesco/Brooks were on fire. He had a bad run with injuries which resulted in us dropping out of the 8 in one season, the other was riddled by Farah sega before the biggest game of our season. He unfortunately had to deal with the ego’s within our side that we somehow cannot get rid of.

Of all the coaches, I felt sorry for Mick Potter the most. (maybe Wayne Pearce as well)

As Milky and some others have said, he had no budget and bugger all say in the team, but I thought he did a pretty good job with what he had, which wasn't much.

He had the balls to bench Benji and it was pretty obvious that there no love lost between him and Grant Mayer. (what a piece of work he was)

Remember Mayer sitting in the coaching box giving Potter grief - what CEO does that?

Very unprofessional on his part and saw him as nothing but a snake oil salesman who promised the world and delivered nothing.

Was glad to see the back of him and just for the record, I don't think Potter was sacked, just didn't have his contract renewed for what it's worth.

I think all the mess falls on the board of the joint venture.
Don't forget they were split for years and factions within the board were white anting each other.
I can recall that JT was hired at the behest of the West side of the board who complained constantly about not getting a say in football operations.

Thats all behind us I hope.

What total rubbish - do you want to point me to where the facts are about the signing of JT and the Wests faction. Or are you just recalling the dribble that was posted on the forum at the time.

Interesting that there are reports that Brisbane are looking for a centre. Maybe the club should look at offering Mbye on a subsidised contract.

Reliable poster on the bulldogs forum has said momirovski has signed/ or is close to signing with bulldogs. Anyone here heard anything else?

He's faster than Dooey, scores at a better rate than any of our other centre candidates, kicks goals, tackles well and has played in two premiership winning teams. Wish we had a few more average players like him.

Momo is alright, but some of the hype is a bit much at times from some people so it is frustrating. I also feel Madge doesn't overly rate him (Hence him dropping him early in 2019, and being willing to trade him to get Grant). The fact that there is rumours of the dogs being interested also shows that Momorovski may be under the impression he won't start at the Tigers.

To me if BJ & Roberts are anywhere near there best, they will be the centres. They have a far higher ceiling than Momo, who I also agree is just an average first grader. Momo should also never be considered for the wing, as he is far too slow (Didn't Klemmer run him down vs the Knights at Campbelltown?).
