Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Momo gets massively over hyped on this forum. He's OK and I'm not against him staying as a back up option but he definitely doesn't make the 17 on a regular basis like some suggest.

4 years for Nofa lol.

Well, at least its comforting that in a dynamic and changing world, the Wests Tigers still do Wests Tigers things.

I think you need to look at our squad signings expiry dates to maybe understand why? You can't have them all off contract at the same time?

But who knows, it could be a great signing or not.

It's great that hes re signed im happy about that but i must admit when i saw the 4 yrs that was my forst thought i hope that its a club option. Time will tell i guess anyway i think the domino's fell for us to re sign Nofo hopefully he cracks on for a few big years with us.

I see a lot more unwarranted criticism than hype tbh. For a kid that played great footy for us

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but if Mbye left this year it would mean we have to spend his cap money this year.Thats the last thing we need,we already have problems spending big money in this years cap, with little talent on the market. The same with Packer we need the $ for 2022.The same would apply to Walters,Cini and others,no release or medical retirement till years end.

Reliable poster on the bulldogs forum has said momirovski has signed/ or is close to signing with bulldogs. Anyone here heard anything else?

Trust me, he’s not going anywhere

I hope you are right. Easily one of our best players.

I believe he will play plenty of 1st grade this year. And agree. I don’t get why he has so many critics

It's not that he has critics. A lot of us see a slow technically very good centre. People on here overstate how good he is. I want him to stay but surely he won't be the first picked option in the centres or if he is given a go there I fully expect Roberts and BJ or even Talau to get his spot at some point.

He is an average player. I've seen people state Madge has guaranteed him a spot and that he is potentially the captain. This is guy who hasn't at any point proven he is anything more than a fringe first grader.

I reckon as a squad member he is a great option or as a moneyball player where you stack other positions in the team he is a great option. We have BJ, Roberts and Talau all vying for a centre spot. I wouldn't pick Momo ahead of any of them assuming those guys are available.

He's faster than Dooey, scores at a better rate than any of our other centre candidates, kicks goals, tackles well and has played in two premiership winning teams. Wish we had a few more average players like him.

To me if BJ & Roberts are anywhere near there best, they will be the centres. They have a far higher ceiling than Momo, who I also agree is just an average first grader. Momo should also never be considered for the wing, as he is far too slow (Didn't Klemmer run him down vs the Knights at Campbelltown?).

Keyword “if”

Momo has already proven he has what it takes to be a strike centre for us as evident in 2019. BJ was terrible last year and while I hold high hopes for roberts, hasn’t proven anything just yet

Madge DOES rate him. Hence why he extended him for a further 2 years.

I don't feel Madge rates him as high as some people think, and even feel the Momo re-signing was pushed upon Madge due to the fact it got Grant get here in 2020 (Momo wouldn't do the loan/trade unless he had the contract extension signed remember?). I think Momo's pace would be a concern for Maguire in the way he is trying to move the team forward. View this video at 1.38 and watch Momo get gassed down with ease by the halfway line

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhUFeqEMNzo

He is a solid player, and the comparison from someone to Shane Elford is on the money. But he is not a game breaker etc. A very handy backup if BJ doesn't have a great year, as he will do little wrong.

Maybe you should show the video of some of his tries that were scored by beating 3 players etc., stepping, brute strength and nouse.

People on here are obsessed with speed - you don't need 17 players with speed, a few yes, but there are other attributes that can be just as important.

He's a Aurion with a bigger engine than the Camry.

Who exactly have we paid overs for this year? What long term deals not in our favour have we made this year?

Random stat but Momo has scored 14 tries in 19 first grade games which is a pretty impressive strike rate
Sure speed is great but it’s not the only thing

Whenever you’re talking tries it pays to eliminate the catch and place the ball over the line ones, I think Momo has a few of those playing in some classy sides.

Not trying to be smart - I think you need to look at Momers tries again if you think most of them were put the ball down over the line.

You could be correct I haven’t done the required analysis
