He wants $700k, that’s a lot for a centre who generally don’t get paid that much I’m sure. Not really a position that earns you heaps of money - his defence is also awful. We should chase him though he’s a good player

I get what your saying.Staggs25and what has he done previous to last year?Is he injury prone? Can he tackle?Can he play FB ? Chrichton ,huge wraps by everyone,but was it because of a great team.Young and inexperiened but made the defence look ordinary.Can play FB ,centre wing and possibly 5/8 ? I'm sure many hrs would be spent looking at both players and their value Me i just guess,-Chrichton.

Our record with injury prone players is terrible.We nursed Benji for 10yrs with his bad shoulders but his brilliant attack made it worthwile,Matalino carried injuries but tried hard,Packer maybe 1 year then a bad toe etc.JR another guy apprx 25 injured most of the time,MC Qeen another injured recruit that hardl played. I would be very wary.

RIFTS REMAIN FROM CLUB'S FIERY PRESO NIGHT
One NRL club has some major healing to do before the start of the comp, after a fiery end-of-season presentation night a couple of months back.

Things got heated between both coaching staff and players as the beers flowed after a frustrating season on and off the field.

It's been anything but smooth sailing in the months since and some rifts remain unresolved.

Unless the 'vibe' improves in coming weeks, the club could face a long season.

Cowboys

Well thanks guys so far its the following,
Cowboys x 2 - Although new coach next Season
Eels x 1 - ?????
Knights x 1 - ???? Prior to Pearce indiscretion
Sharks x 1 - Would not surprise me
Broncos x 1 - Already had a recent indiscretion Hass
Manly x 2 - Good luck Josh A if so.

Anyway at least it was not us which is more important lets hope we remain out of the press these next 2 months.

With the salary cap reduced by 6% and sitting at 9 million now - assume 30 players = $350k average
We are saying that we are willing to pay $800k
Quite a few clubs with Million $ players on the books and i think with the reduction in the cap we need to only 1 marque player at present its Mybe on $950k.....

Hearing a lot of talk about McInnes coming over? I thought it was just another song and dance to jack up his asking price but it seems he is off Dragons since Mary got the axe.

I know we have Liddle and Simpkin, but I would take him in a heartbeat. He's one of those consistent, hard working players who would be an instant leader and really drive the values that Madge is trying to instill on the team. Plus he's a bloody awesome 9. Would probably mean Liddle would get the tap on the shoulder but you could easily carry both McInnes and Simpkin in the 17 with McInnes having a stint at lock when Simpkin comes on.

Reports were that he came to check out Tigers training facilities, so I guess it will be a hard pass from him now haha

Defense can be trained, though it takes awhile to improve. Also were not good at defense unless we just focus on it (we did beat Melbourne once 6-4 winning on defense).

I still look at both these players and go "another Center". I don't see them as Wingers and the only position I see them being in is Fullback OR with Kotoni Staggs in the second row/lock. For that reason I would go Kotoni closer to the front with Tamou and Ofanague... (wonder how Joe O and Staggs get along).

With the cap going to 9 Million, I think Angus Cricheon would be my preference on the lot. We need to sort out our front row and see if Brooks can play behind a pack that can deliver.

I heard Cam Mcinness has asked for a release to join tigers on a 4 year deal effective immediately.

Really hope this is true

How much would MacGinness be worth? As a lock $500,000 ?As a 9 $600 to $700,000.Meanwhile we have a backline without a real attacking weapon.I can't understand why every time a lock or DH comes on the market that we have to buy him.Sure i like him,but surely our backline is the main priority.
