I heard Cam Mcinness has asked for a release to join tigers on a 4 year deal effective immediately.

Really hope this is true

How much would MacGinness be worth? As a lock $500,000 ?As a 9 $600 to $700,000.Meanwhile we have a backline without a real attacking weapon.I can't understand why every time a lock or DH comes on the market that we have to buy him.Sure i like him,but surely our backline is the main priority.

The backline is coming along nicely, not perfect but heaps better. Lots of options available. What we are missing is a genuine lock. Twal is not it, he's a prop and needs to be on prop rotation.

Look at the teams who regularly finish top of the comp and name a bad 9? Cam McInnis no only offers you quality distribution but gives you 40-50 tackles a game at about 95% efficiency. The bloke is as tough as they come as well.

I think staggs is 22 creighton is 20 both great in attack both ordinary defenders wouldn’t so no to either of them

Defense can be trained, though it takes awhile to improve. Also were not good at defense unless we just focus on it (we did beat Melbourne once 6-4 winning on defense).

I still look at both these players and go "another Center". I don't see them as Wingers and the only position I see them being in is Fullback OR with Kotoni Staggs in the second row/lock. For that reason I would go Kotoni closer to the front with Tamou and Ofanague... (wonder how Joe O and Staggs get along).

With the cap going to 9 Million, I think Angus Cricheon would be my preference on the lot. We need to sort out our front row and see if Brooks can play behind a pack that can deliver.

Stagg in the second row/lock ? no chance. We had the worst and slowest backline in the game last year,and JTJ is the only addition except for Madden who most prefer Doeihi, (though i don't) at 5/8. and Cini who people say can't tackle and is Penrith bound.Kepoa ? maybe but what do you do with all our favourite utility players,Momo,Mbye,TT,and Doeihi who seem unable to find a regular position owing to lack of speed or ability.

RIFTS REMAIN FROM CLUB'S FIERY PRESO NIGHT
One NRL club has some major healing to do before the start of the comp, after a fiery end-of-season presentation night a couple of months back.

Things got heated between both coaching staff and players as the beers flowed after a frustrating season on and off the field.

It's been anything but smooth sailing in the months since and some rifts remain unresolved.

Unless the 'vibe' improves in coming weeks, the club could face a long season.

Cowboys

Knights x 1 - ???? Prior to Pearce indiscretion
Sharks x 1 - Would not surprise me

Agree,but how do you know we don't have that player here? Simpkin had more wraps then Harry and has not taken the field. Liddle is classy and only played a few games behind a poor pack.As for lock Blore with extra fitness this year or even give Garner a try.

Liddles distribution is A plus. He’s a forwards dummy half. Ie. he puts you onto the ball to give you every chance to get over the advantage line . He learnt this off Farah , for years. IMO the forwards will be much better this year , as I think Liddle is a better 9 than grant . Grant is a better footballer , sure , but , if you are talking pure garbage runs out of our own end , it’s liddle by a mile .

Is he going to be shifty out of the 9 , and ball play. Nope probably not . He’s going to make the markers move in ways they don’t want to go , gets the pigs on a roll, dart out when it’s on , abs deliver crisp ,accurate balls when the halves scream for it .
Like everyone says , if Luke can’t win this year , with this team finally built around him , then he’s not going to win .

It’s all there for him .

Yeah, Harry gave our forwards a lot of room and even put them over for tries, he’s good at everything. Liddle can still do really well too, I hope he runs a lot and gets the opposition worried about that as it’ll open up the middle of the field more for the big fellas.

Plus he can kick goals.

His manager is trying to push up the market price,as they all do.Chrichton Ibelieve has more promise,but they will be the 2 biggest targets on the market,I would go as high as $800,000 for Crichton,less for Stagg,but Hartigan knows what we need and at what price .A lot chasing these 2,but another star comes along every 6 mths

With the salary cap reduced by 6% and sitting at 9 million now - assume 30 players = $350k average
We are saying that we are willing to pay $800k
Quite a few clubs with Million $ players on the books and i think with the reduction in the cap we need to only 1 marque player at present its Mybe on $950k.....

$300k average with a $9m cap for us, though maybe $350k for those with creative accounting.

Looks a crafty player but I have questions. Is he tough enough to play the game like Harry G or Hodgson? Is he smart enough to play the game in a dinner suit like Cam or Cook? Guess we’ll find out.
