This forum cares way too much about players personalities... as long as they work hard at training and work hard on the field let's take them. We can't afford to run background checks on players and only sign charity workers.... McGuire is a grub but he would be a solid pickup and footy is what matters

I'm very proud of the fact our club hasn't ever been seen as purveyers of grubby play.
To the point that even the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Finger" or Tim Simona stuff never left a stigma upon our great clubs name in the same way Storm cheated the cap or Easts Rorters continually seem so flushed for choice or Sharks being found over the cap every year either side of their premiership.
Our integrity is intact.
We are proud.
We signed bone-heads before, the most recent having been dropped last week.
Was it last year McGuire got done for eye-gouging?
Let us not even entertain the thought of having someone of so little repute at our club.
If we limp... we limp like men!

Other big teams (especially forwards) dont respect us
we play nice
we don't play finals

Im sick of limping out of finals contention

I think most teams do respect us, we are quite known for producing the unexpected

Havn't been in contention for a while sure but we make most teams sweat regardless

RCG stated in an interview after the game that if they play like that against a good team they will get beat by 40.... they dont respect us.

We don't make them sweat

I bet they did sweat when we were only 2 points away from them.

Considering they scored at least 2 tries that should have been called back and we had one disallowed that was line ball and played like crap most of the game I would say they should be sweating thinking about what a good team would do to them without them getting all the line ball calls.

Won't be too long before those slimy pretenders start choking again and fail to produce the goods for yet another season.

RCG is just a boof head that needs to learn a bit of respect and someone needs to smash him and his porn star moustache all the way back to the seventies where the moron belongs.

they didn't sweat. they rested matterson an extra week

If Reynolds does decide to leave, the Bunnies may opt to retain Benji Marshall for an additional 12 months as they develop young gun playmakers Blake Taaffe and Lachlan Ilias.

I told my mate that the Souths halves needed to be careful, Benji has a way of undermining the players who are supposed to be ahead of him in the pecking order.

I don't even mean this in a sinister way and I'm not suggesting Benji is doing anything untoward, it's just two (and now three, because I was right) clubs in a row, Benji gets signed as a backup player and ends up overtaking an incumbent and becoming a first-choice play-maker.

Firstly Reynolds was being shifted off the ball in early rounds, in favour of Benji, then his new deal is being capped at 1 year, now talk he's going to move on because of that offer.

it couldn't happen at a better club. haha

Reynolds needs to take a lead from Benji and parade in front of the media in an Auckland Blues jumper and really give Souffs a serve.

Incorrect. No one respects us at all. We're generally considered a laughing stock to most clubs and players.

You know this for sure, right? You know what most clubs and players generally think about Tigers, you've taken a survey?

have you? It's not an emotional thing here.

Everyone rests players against us, we play teams back into form, we had prayer circles, our forward struggle to make 100m a game, we cant score points and now have a record for more than 26 points scored against us in consecutive weeks.

Seriously its been a mess over the years, slowly getting better though. Potentially we may be underestimated soon, but not yet.

We haven’t made the top 8 for 10 years, it’s pretty obvious that teams don’t respect WT.

I don’t understand the sudden revelation, it’s been like that for a while.

If South's are not budging on a one year deal for Reynolds there is a problem - not sure why people can't see that. He doesn't want to leave, and if he is forced to he will try to get every dollar possible out of us to do so. If I was in charge of managing the cap in the best interest of the club I wouldn't be offering any thing more than South's.

Souths are in salary cap strife
But they should be offloading someone else before Reynolds
Reynolds leaving is a bit like the Benji Marshall situation
But Reynolds is still a great player
How come the Media haven't started bagging south sydney the way they are treating their key player
He is as much a legend for South's as Marshall was for us

Makes you wonder...Reynolds is Souths…don’t know why he wouldn’t just take the 1 year deal…slay it and make it impossible for them not to re-sign him again…something is not right…

Footy is business, take a one year deal and if he breaks his leg no more money for him. Makes a world of sense for him to want to secure his future. Different story if it's a 22 year old player

That it is ..but it wouldn't be a wise signing if he broke his leg..

Reynolds is a no brainer for me. Give him a two year contract with a club option for a 3rd. Give cowboys Brooks. We need a experienced half who is a proven game manager with the best boot in the game and an amazing goal kicker. Make this happen tigers.

No I haven't done a survey, but I am not making claims to know what players think. It's just a stupid and pointless claim that "most clubs and players" think or do anything.

You claim resting players, playing teams back into form... there's no data for that, just sweeping generalisations.

The one legitimate thing you've said is the bad defensive record >26 points in consecutive weeks. No debating that, and I believe that is the primary difference between where we are now and finals football. All the rest of it - the wingers, Brooks' performance, Doueihi as a long-term 5/8th option, our hookers... I think they are all very secondary to a complete inability to defend under pressure.

But, again, not making any stupid and pointless claims about what other teams "think".

Cowboys coach, Todd Payten and his team will be flying into Sydney sometime during the week, hopefully during this time talks between clubs are being done to transfer Moses for someone at their club.

Who would you take?

Like I’ve said before, Jordan McLean for me.

Jordan McLean is a massively overpaid plodder IMO. He's about as much value as Rusty Packer.
Maybe Feldt but he doesn't have too many years left in him.
Cows are going absolutely horrendous at the moment, they don't have much of a carcass to pick at.

100%

Seen that Greig, their big backrower got an immediate switch to Parra. He would have been worth a look. Outside of Hammer, there's just a bunch of overpaid, underperforming players. If Mbye is going to Cowboys another domino will have to fall somewhere else for anyone to afford him.

Adam Reynolds is not the messiah, his short kicking game and goal kicking are excellent but he does not do anything else. He does not lead the team around, he tries to avoid physical contact and rarely engages the line or makes tackles. He was dropped from SOO years ago for a 19 year old has been under pressure to keep his spot at Souths many times.

The same people that bag Brooks no matter what he does would not be any happier with Adam Reynolds (or the messiah).

Nah I don’t think it’s that mate . I think it’s that for some of us , we were so negative for so long that we are now turning the tide , and can see the light in the tunnel . Doesn’t mean we don’t have issues , but it’s taking 21 years to get this place to be professional , that we appreciate the progress that has been made .
But , I’m with you in the sense that it always feels like it’s 2 steps forward 1 step back .
I get it though man , it can feel like we are never going to come good . But I’ve seen it in every sport all around the globe , eventually it turns around .
I just hope it’s not the Cubs and we have to wait 100 years . By we , I mean my great grand kids lol joking , but not really ....

Ok its been 4 weeks and we clearly know where we stand...

Changes for me:

1. Look into swapping Walters for Corey Oats as he just needs a change as his has played SOO, Tall, great at bringing the ball back and is still only like 26 years old.

2. If there is a chance to off load Brooks I say let him go as he still has like 3 more years here and we need a true half. I would put that money to buying Reynolds with a 3 year deal but the 3rd year a club option. He would just bring us a player that can control a game and kicking game is outstanding.

3. I would look at buying Sua from Souths as he is a SOO player and would add that aggression we lack plus we have the money and no chance of getting Angus C from roosters.

4. If moses can find a club i would also let him go as paying the money he is on for a bench spot that Simpkin should be taking is ridiculous

5. I would also look to buy Brown from Eels - I know he is a grub but we desperately need a guy like him to lift the team as we have too many Mr Nice guys.

I know a lot won't agree but we need a hard edge and need it ASAP.

Apart from Brown - you are right, I don't agree.

We need a winger, a centre and a halfback urgently.

Oates for wing
Naden for centre
Hastings for halfback

Well that should insure that we get the spoon, well done.
