For those questioning his **commitment and attitude** after reading what his current bosses at Wigan said about him then here's some quotes from the Salford coach and management...

So let me get this straight ... you’re confirming his commitment by his tenure at 2 super league clubs
... one he left after one and a half seasons, and the other after signing an NRL contract midway through his 2nd club?

Yep sounds really committed to me.

What was your favourite fairy tale to read as a kid?

I'm all for people having an issue with the signing, but your argument here isn't really sensible. He signed a half year contract with Salford, then he signed for a further year. He was a free agent when he left to go to Wigan and he's playing out his contract there before moving here. He hasn't asked for an early release and has committed to see out his contract. So your issue with him is that he saw out his contract and then moved somewhere else?

Additionally, he signed with Wigan mid year at Salford and then went on to be their best player and win Man of Steel. There hasn't been a word about his lack of commitment in the UK except for people on this forum, which tbh seems pretty agenda driven.

So you don’t find it concerning that he hasn’t committed to any of his clubs for longer than 2 years?

David Fafita had played a total of 44 games for the Broncos
Broncos bailed him out of a Bali jail
Now he is a Titan
That's the way things go
Due to Covid Hastings probably wants to come back to Australia as we can move freely here compared to England
He has to think of his family to

David Fifita has more talent in his left pinky than Hastings tho
Maybe a little over paid for a forward

Also he’s a Gold Coast junior

Where we think Moses end up hope he leaves parra.

I don't think he will.

Surely broncos finally have a big play at him.

You would think so, but i don't think Moses or Parra have an appetite for change at the moment.

I actually think broncos will have a crack at ash Taylor now he’s playing better

I reckon broncos will go
Dearden 7 and Johnson 6

Once the spin doctors have finished his makeover, CK will provide reports of him walking on Lake Illawarra. And if that doesn't occur it will be Brooks' fault.

Hastings will miss the plane from Heathrow and it will be Luke Brooks fault

The way I see it:

Moses Mbye leaves the club at the end of this year, we pay half of his salary to leave.

Jackson Hastings moves into the 14 role

Thoughts?

Can't believe we would pay 50% of Mbye's salary to play elsewhere. We then buy a player of Mybe's ability with the other 50% and we are no better off.

exactly Hastings is no better than Mmbye

I don’t expect anything from him except effort, consistency and a will to win.
As opposed to some players we have who show a blank faced expression no matter what’s happening.
Continuing to bag him now illustrates you’re happy with us never trying anything different to get us into the finals.
No hurry though, until then you can keep pumping up Brooks’ tyres and blame everyone else in the team, the coach and the ball boys if he doesn’t fire.

I wrote earlier the money wasted on Leilua J and that to be spent on Hastings would be better invested making good offers to the best of the next wave of Bronco talent similar to Simpkin. We've had success with it, why not commit more $?

Not better than Mbye? Is that based on what?

Im reserving judgement until he is here.

I want Mbye gone though better ti have half the cash spare.

Doueihi is obviously our main man but I think Brooks does a good job of complementing him. Does the halfback really have to be the dominant player when you’ve got a loud six?

No you don't need Brooks to be the perfect organizing halfback. We need a team effort and the right players from the team at the right time.

If Brooks is the wrong man for the job get rid of him but let's not judge him by standards that are just stupid.

Ive no problems with the signing of Hastings and if it means Brooks is asked to move on sobeit, if he can work to a position switch and still happily contribute to WT on field, great!!
If Maguire is thinking of playing Hastings at lock in the first instance OK, thats his call.

As a general comment answering the question difference between WT and the big teams? The big teams are utterly ruthless in replacing players when a better one comes along= whether existing one is under contract or not. Make of it what you will but the big boys would not have been waiting for 8 years for Brooks to sort his act out to fully fill all the roles of a halfback.

Danny Weidler reporting Hastings returning to the NRL next year with Tigers front runners to sign him.

We'd be the only runners. Seriously if this true, our recruitment has reached a new low. I believed Joey Leilua to be right down there.

Why would Hastings be a new low?

I informed a friend of mine. He and his family have links to Illawarra footy. His first comment is why do some coaches believe they are the exception when others have failed (in relation to recruiting players who have a history)? This is the same gentleman who pointed out a young 16 year old Ryan Girdler as a future star. I listen when someone of that background makes comment.

No offence intended mate but I dont think we should entirely write off this potential signing based on your mate who has connections to Illawarra footy.

No offence taken. But if we are considering or have signed Hastings, I despair for our club and its future.

What did Hastings actually do? No one has ever said. He also seems to have matured a lot after being exiled.

Blow up witb DCE and most of the other players in the team was the last thing I remember. He didn't seem to get along with many people wherever he went.

Blow up with DCE wow didn't see that coming

And this is what I mean. He's essentially been run out of the country based on a bad attitude at this point. I assume he did something really nasty off field that has been ignored or covered up because he's a nobody

He was only 22 at the time and some young men do not mature as quickly as others. If ruffling the feathers of a few ego's is the worst he has done I think he is probably entitled some leeway. His price tag would be thing I am most concerned about. He is still relatively in proven here.

Nothing wrong with hating Manly players.
The blokes who don’t want him are scared he’ll show Brooks up.

The Brooks fan club are so worried we will have a number 7 that madge can use if Brooks don’t deliver that they are using any reason to talk down this signing.

What ? You’ve lost the plot ! Why are you death riding our halfback ? I don’t see anyone denigrating Hastings . If you think Hastings is the saviour , then I’ve got bad news for you . The team needs to lift around the spine collectively , which will happen as the game time they play together increases . And that includes Brooks. . If the club decides to move him on , then Madden not Hastings should be the one to get the nod . Hastings is NOT a halfback . You’re so Enamaouted with dumping our halfback , that you somehow have twisted it in your head that your being victimised . It’s actually impressive how you’ve done that . A little scary , with the lack of reasonable thought , but impressive none the less .

You need help. My 12 year old daughter has more IQ and rationale then you. Once again you plant false statements and accusations to make your point. I don’t know if that makes you feel good about yourself but if your lonely don’t take it out on me. Show me where I’m death riding our halfback. I’ve actually just stated in another post after the Rabbitohs game that our spine should be given time to gel and work together. Where did I say Hastings will be our saviour? I don’t think any player in the club is putting pressure on Brooks and that includes Madden. Have you been watching our NSW cup team? So if Hastings is here , then yes I’m happy that Brooks will be looking over his shoulder. Nothing would please me more then Brooks turning into a champion because that means tigers will be winning. But if he doesn’t then we need to have options. If Hastings is here as a lock I’m happy with that aswell. And my favourite , I’m “being victimised” what the hell are you on lol. It’s a forum , people will have different opinions then me and you, get a grip on yourself.

Maybe they're trying to win the Auckand Nines.

Nice Tigers should learn from signing Jet.We take too many risks with recruitment.

Just what they need .... Another back :face_palm: :face_palm:
I'm Glad they are spending big on backs as that leaves them below us ..

If they get Naden I would be happy for us to enquire about Will Hoppa or even DWZ at a reduced rate. Both are good players in the right team.

No thanks on Both, they're appoaching UsedBy dates.

Better and hungrier in system for less money

I think Hastings offers an immediate effect.
Has played first grade since he was 18 and stepped up enough in the last few years to be picked for Great Britain ... and then continued that good form.
We’ve got a mile of young talent coming through that will take time to be NRL ready.
