WE ARE NOT WINNING GAMES SO WHAT IS THE HARM

There is a lot of harm in destroying the confidence of 60 players with "just try anything".

Doueihi plays a very specific role as a running 5/8, similar to Jack Whiten. **Whiten took quite a while to come good at 5/8 and learn when to pass and when to run**.

Doueihi is not a halfback, and your 6 and 7 have to compliment each other, certain types of halfback go with certain types of 5/8s. Brooks is an allrounder and a running 5/8 like Doueihi is the right match for him. If both can play with confidence and freedom and the forwards stop getting dominated, it can be a good combination.

Trying random stuff means that we never see what could have been if we had fixed the teams attitude and defence and let the spine have a season to play together.

And look at him now
And what about Darren Lockyers switch
This is not about switching Laurie
It's about getting the best we have out of the team we have
Switching Nofoaluma from right wing to left wing and Nofoaluma had a great game the 1st time that happened
And you talk about confidence
What confidence does our team have
I haven’t seen confidence in our team for a very long time

I would not go anywhere near Flanagan.

He is already being shopped around by the Bulldogs. They're finding out quickly why the Roosters wanted him gone and it's not just related to on-field performances...

He is not the only one being shopped around, they are keen on making a play on Hynes, who is meeting with the Titan’s this week, there was originally talk about Stimson but that now includes up to another 5 players. I think the Tigers could get some great value

We need quality by the bucket load, not value

Ok so from that we can tell he has very good hands and sets up his wingers nicely. Has good speed and excellent footwork.

Something to work with but will all depend on how he defends and if he wants to improve his game. Looks 5kgs of muscle light as well.

Cannot believe people are wanting to tinker with Doueihi and Laurie.

Doueihi is 100% not a halfback. He is really good as a second receiver or running on edges. He's such a strong runner, why play him at halfback where his primary role would be passing wide and organising? It makes no sense. Maybe he could fill in and do it, but if you want players playing their best position why move him? He really looks at home at 5/8. Maybe he could play a role as some sort of lock and he could probably play centre too, but his position and his strengths suit 5/8 as a ball runner with a good cut out pass, a bit of guile and a great mid field bomb (which wasn't going well against the Titans). Definitely not a halfback where I think you want to have acceleration, busyness, elusiveness. Doueihi has a bit of Fittler about him with the smooth running andscheming play.

Also, a big no to moving Laurie. How can anyone consider moving a player who has barely made an error at fullback and is getting better in attack every week? In a terrible side he still looks incredible, **just wait until we actually have some momentum (if we ever get that**).

Moving either of these players weakens our greatest strengths. Find better ideas people, moving these two would throw us into even more mediocrity.

One of our halves lacks creativity
We desperately need that (creativity)to succeed
Tedesco couldn't help us when we had Moses and Brooks running the show
Laurie is now in the same boat

So who plays fullback if you move Laurie? You're moving a player who is virtually faultless from fullback to take on the halfback position, when he's barely played played ten nrl games, and you're replacing him with one of our error riddled fullbacks like Mbye. You're now a big chance of messing with Laurie's confidence while not getting a good halfback out of him and stuffing up the fullback position. You mess that up and players will stop believing in you. And you're making all those changes when fullback is virtually as important as halfback these days (look at Turbo's impact at Manly), so why bother? It makes no sense. We need a better idea.

Good post. By putting Laurie in the front line he will have countless forwards running at him as they do Brooks. The difference is Brooks with Twal are our best defenders. Laurie needs to work on his defence but blunting his creativity in the half position makes no sense.

I saw Joe Tapine last year around this time.
Asked him if he'd ever consider the tigers.

... he said yes.

He was hitting some sprints at my local track when COVID kicked off.

Worth a chat.....

One of my mates who coaches in Souths junior reps met him last year and has remained in touch - reckons he's one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

Yeah, I was surprised to see him and his wife and their dog in my area of all places.

Can confirm, super nice.
He'd be great for our pack.
He's an experienced player but still pretty young.

Sign him up Madge.

Every team in the comp would chase his signature with one or two exceptions if he becomes available which I doubt. Where do you believe WTs would be?

Like u said, all clubs would be keen.
I'd guess we'd be in the mix.

He'd do more for us than we for him, I assume.
But... maybe he wants the challenge.

Hopefully BJ can talk Tapine into coming across, where would he slot into tho? Garners place? Or off the bench?

Lock, second row, anywhere. one of the first forwards picked.

Anything at this stage is worth a try, at present we are going nowhere. I would try Brooks an Madden in the halves, and AD at centre, see how they go, at half time try AD and Madden in the halves and Brooks at centre or lock .

The only place i'd LOCK Brooks is in the video review room at training and make him repeatedly watch how to dive and ankle tap a player that he is a meter away from.

Your blaming the only guy that put in the effort to chase?

He didnt chase him , he escorted him to the try line.
He made sure he got there in one piece , HENCE WHY HE DIDNT ACKLE TAP HIM OR MAKE SOME SORT OF EFFORT TO BRING HIM DOWN.
