I was unsure about Nicho Hynes but after watching him tonight without all the normal halves I am all in on this kid.. I was happy with with having Daine Laurie at the back but we should be looking at adding Hynes and if that means moving him to 6 I say yes... He is involved in everything and looks like he can read the game perfectly. We have the money and should at least put our hand up

We should at least try and if we miss him that will at least make another club pay more for him.

Not really. He'd happily go to the right club for less.

We could offer him a starting spot on very good money compared to some other clubs where there money is tight. We have heaps of salary cap so we may as well spend it.. Why hold onto it and pay some other 2nd fiddle player the money.. As a club we are crying out for some kind of star and he could be it.

Found it interesting yet understand why. Brent Read was saying a number of players will be taking one year deals for next season. Putting themselves in the shop window for the new team.

TPJ is a bit more of a gamble, he does have the one thing we really lack which is impact. I think that has been one of our biggest problems this season, though Mikaele has been showing signs of life in that area lately. The teams doing well have forwards that can cause disruption to the defensive line and then get a quick play the ball. We are lacking in that area so can see the attraction that TPJ has to some people.

Agree Mikaele is on the improve. I’d rather gamble on our young brigade than what I assume would be a guy on top dollar.

Tuilagi seems to have that bit of impact about him, but it is an area we are very light in.

To me with TPJ it would all come down to the one aspect I have no access to and it would be the conversations during negotiations. Its whether he has the traits to overcome is inconsistencies, what he brings to the team in other areas, is he the type of personality that fits the team and environment we are trying to create and foster. Those answer can only be found by getting to know the guy as it is undeniable that he has talent. Its whether that talent can be harnessed

To me we are at an interesting juncture. In around 2014 the Sharks brought in Luke Lewis and Wade Graham and completely turned around their footy club. Two guys like that to teach our young guys the ropes is what I would love to see personally. Easier said than done.

Lewis was incredibly close to being here instead.

What we are lacking currently is the damaging forward. We have the toilers and the leaders. I actually think Tamou is having a huge effect behind the scenes, does need to improve his game though.

I like leaders, not just in football but in all walks of life, that develop leadership skills in others. It is a very undervalued trait in people. Looking at the the article that had Tamou talking about Doueihi as a leader the other day and the way he spoke about the younger players at Penrith last year it is pretty clear he is that type of person. The players also talk highly of him so I 'think' they believe in him.

Honestly I love that trait in people and whenever I have hired people for leadership roles it is something that is high on my list of attributes.

When Doueihi becomes captain down the track he will be a better leader because of Tamou.

I admire the determination to sign both players. I don't agree with all the publicity. It's on 7 News this morning as a raid We should have asked the Army if we can use the SAS or the US Army for Delta Force and Chuck Norris. This has the potential for an own goal if the mission is unsuccessful.

The media have made a massive story out of it hoping it doesn’t happen so they can gleefully put the slipper in again.

They just happened to get spotted on the plane and the journalists did their digging. It's a shame because if it's a first meeting it's probably a good chance of a discussion and the players saying they'll think about it but nothing comes of it

Of course as you said the media will go bananas if we don't sign them.

To be honest if we are flying up days after being up their for magic round then I think discussion are further along than a first meeting. Madge didn't fly back to Sydney until Sunday so flew back up 3 days later.

I think Isaako is keen but it is more if the Broncos are willing to let him go.

Hopefully we can get something done with them. Isaako would be a major get for us if we could get him this year to play wing.

It’s weird how our fans complain about wanting bigger bodies in the backs, but when we get them, the fans want them moved to the back row Talau, Joey, Fonua, douiehi ... strange lot some our fans are but they expect perfection from the team and management.
