Might be time for a highlights vid

more importantly, i'd like to see how he interviews or podcasts

Good buy.
Talented but surrounded by rubbish at the Bulldogs who have dragged him down to their level.
People on here are so quick to write players off.

DWZ is a very good winger, but not a good fullback.

As long as it’s as a winger only, I’m somewhat okay with it. He is a very strong runner of the ball, looks frustrated at the dogs.

Was one of the best players in the league on the wing before wanting to play fullback. If he's come to the realisation that he's a class winger and dud fullback, we can benefit greatly from this.

Talks between Bulldogs & Tigers with DWZ advanced quickly over the weekend, strong chance he's playing for us against Eels in round 14.
Money being the biggest issue for 2022, dogs expected to chip in around the $300-$350k mark, Tigers offering this season & 22/23

Thanks @THE_POM , are we looking at anyone else??

Brisbane have closed the door on Issako (For now), don't think they expected the backlash from the well documented trip, Every chance Walters will still be released to free up another roster spot.
James Roberts has all but sealed his option being activated for 2022. Leilua not looking likely he'll be here, was briefly discussed that they'll let the option expire & then re-negotiate terms with BJ on a lesser deal but have to see if he's keen on that.
Discussion with re-signing Luciano have begun & everyone involved is confident something will be confirmed prior to November 1st

Thanks Pom, hope we’re not paying JTJ any more money, apart from finishing a couple of tries on the weekend, what has he done?! Needs to prove he actually wants to be a footy player. I hope we hold off for another month.

His option for 2022 is only 50k more than this year.

Good value if he can stay on the pitch

I believe he has KPIs that automatically trigger the option

He’s crap ..
So we remain a dumping ground while the Dogs sign Addo-Carr
Makes sense 🙄

Well, they obviously think they can turn DWZ’s game around, I guess we will see, if it happens.

DWZ is a crap fullback, good winger. We could shift Roberts to centre, drop Talau and put DWZ on the wing and that makes us a stronger team overall I think.

I guess we won’t know, until it happens, but we have a pretty good brains trust running the show, I trust them to make decisions that are best for the team?

Thanks @THE_POM for the update..
Do you know if we are chance of landing a big fish at this stage ?

No big fish Jonesy, but at least we're getting dwz who's a big turkey

A turkey would be about the limit of what Maguire could attract insofar as NRL players are concerned.

Much rather have a punt on a young winger.... Not like we'll be contending anytime soon.

Not a fan of signing DWZ. I guess the kamikaze-running version would go okay on the wing and likely improve us BUT over the term of a 2.5yr deal we'd be paying overs.
Would prefer to keep JTJ on the wing, and Nofo ain't going anywhere.

seems as if Madge is a big fan and these past few years where DWZ has done literally nothing of note except play the ball backwards has not affected that. if we can get him in the right frame of mind and playing the footy he was renowned for he will be brilliant, but at this point it seems past him.

You're right, we really won't know unless he comes here and plays. Everyone will have their opinions but we really don't know

DWZ, not the best winger in the comp, but will do a solid job and will give you no1 coverage. At this stage in the development of the team he is probably a good signing. People call for us to go for a youngster, might be okay in a good side, but with youngsters, come mistake, take Tommy T for example and our team can’t afford that.

Iam willing to back the club on this one and as a winger I think he is better than Isako

Cheers @THE_POM , you made the week already with insider news.

Any further talks extending Mikaele, Liddle, Seyfarth?

Also what’s the chances of us talking for a forward at all?

Expect us to sign an outside back that we missed out on the last time he hit the market.

Auburnon80, that you?

And if DWZ, not bad for the right price.

Obvs everyone could, but we need to find an X-factor in the backs. Perhaps Laurie or AD can turn into that guy. Maybe Simpkins in the forwards if he keeps growing.

Yes and yes. Trying for this year

Thanks. He's versatile at least, covers a few positions and frankly, we don't have much depth in the backs. Hoffman isn't banging down the door, AJ will be out for a long time and Ogden is young. It would signal that BJ is not going to be resigned.

What's he like off the field? Would he be a good person to have around the younger boys?

He would be great if you want someone to show them how to drop a high ball, knock-on, or offload to an opposition player.

Might be good in "C" Grade....for someone else.

:+1: :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy:
