Good buy.
Talented but surrounded by rubbish at the Bulldogs who have dragged him down to their level.
People on here are so quick to write players off.

He’s crap ..
So we remain a dumping ground while the Dogs sign Addo-Carr
Makes sense ?

Hey was Dallin Watene-Zelezniak the good one when at the Pamfers..or was that Malakai..?

They both sucked

:joy:

Tell the good folks of the forum the truth ..
You bought a wazspazniak watch didn’t you !

I don't mind DWZ if it's cheap. I am worried that it helps the dogs out of salary cap pressure. I certainly wouldn't take DWZ if it enables the dogs to get Hynes or Smith

Exactly what I was thinking.

We tried to get him before and he said no to us.

He’d be coming here to collect a pay-check because no one else is offering him.

I give him a no.

I thought he said NO, because the dogs offered him heaps more than we did?
But tbh, we don’t know what is happening with him?

So many on here bagging a signing which is an upgrade on our current wing position. We aren't exactly a destination club (yet). I am sure the guys in charge know what they are doing (dollar wise).

On 350k a year he's a fine signing. The talented youngsters in the backline we have are a few years yet (Saukuru, Compton) and guys like Hoffman and especially Kei, are not ready atm. Cini deserves another shot imo but hasn't achieved 1/20 of what DWZ has.

By '23 DWZ has either recaptured good form or a benchie and our young blokes have kicked on.

He's not a bad player and 100 miles ahead of Jennings, Nick Meaney, Tuala, Toa who start for NRL teams on not that much less. He's Momorovski level atm and they'd be roughly the same price.

Just another good, solid player to have around the team. The rebuild continues well.

Hey was Dallin Watene-Zelezniak the good one when at the Pamfers..or was that Malakai..?

dallin was the better of the two

Dallin was the best by far. Was being the operative word..

i tried not to mince my words there and say is
although i suppose he technically still is the better of the two with Malakai retired

Dallin now is still miles better than what Malakai was. Dallin is athletic and strong but he's a bit of a dope. Back a few years ago at the Panthers Dallin was really good. He's gotten progressively worse since then.

Playing in that Dogs team the last few seasons would be enough to make anyone's abilities regress.

We're not exactly the storm

and we are not quite the dogs hahaha

Is this the same mob that extended Nofoaluma until 2025 😂

As a winger he is fine for the right price.
He is young and has shown some form of late.
Not many options around. Shame we didn’t go harder for Saab last year.

Talks between Bulldogs & Tigers with DWZ advanced quickly over the weekend, strong chance he's playing for us against Eels in round 14.
Money being the biggest issue for 2022, dogs expected to chip in around the $300-$350k mark, Tigers offering this season & 22/23

Thanks @THE_POM , are we looking at anyone else??

Brisbane have closed the door on Issako (For now), don't think they expected the backlash from the well documented trip, Every chance Walters will still be released to free up another roster spot.
James Roberts has all but sealed his option being activated for 2022. Leilua not looking likely he'll be here, was briefly discussed that they'll let the option expire & then re-negotiate terms with BJ on a lesser deal but have to see if he's keen on that.
Discussion with re-signing Luciano have begun & everyone involved is confident something will be confirmed prior to November 1st

Thanks Pom, hope we’re not paying JTJ any more money, apart from finishing a couple of tries on the weekend, what has he done?! Needs to prove he actually wants to be a footy player. I hope we hold off for another month.

His option for 2022 is only 50k more than this year.

Good value if he can stay on the pitch

I believe he has KPIs that automatically trigger the option

Hard to see how it would be triggered based on output to date. Must be easily achievable ones??

Even on a subsidized deal wazspazniak is too expensive for a depth signing.

Hartigan has done well so far but this one seems iffy. He's an error machine who could become a very pricey reserve grader. Risk/reward is too great IMO...

He wouldn't be a depth signing he would start on the wing IMO

Yeah that's my point. He'd be coming here to start which is my concern.

There's gotta be a better option somewhere out there. DWZ's best footy is behind him...

He'd start here because we've got no wingers - he's only 25, in his prime at the moment. He could easily regain his NZ form

As for helping dogs with salary cap, they're absolutely loaded for next year still. They've got about 15 blokes off contract and Burton and JAC aren't on millions. Us getting DWZ makes no real difference to them signing another marquee player

Garrick is classy with a capital C. would love if we snagged him.

Not a world beater but way better than DWZ and offers incredible goal kicking

JAC
Burton
Cotric
Flanagan
Jackson
Elliott
Luke Thompson
Brent Naden

...all were signed or re-signed recently and over competition, they will have sunk plenty of their cap into them.
