Why would anyone want to sign here ? Genuine question.

To play first grade and win the comp. It can be turned around pretty easily with quality players. If I was a quality player it'd be really easy for me to sign up to the Tigers. If my son was a quality player I'd push him to sign with the Tigers.

For a start, stop talking about which players we are targeting in the media. All it’s done thus far is put egg on our collective faces.

I don't get the problem - they asked Lee about those players, he didn't bring it up. Then he says "yeah we've spoke about them, we are looking for quality players".

I see nothing untoward about that.

I hardly think that confirming you have considered a player is tantamount to losing out on their signature. You are talking about 2 players here, right? Latrell and JAC. Lee had good reason to mention those players when we were apparently within a hair's breadth of signing both of them. You can't build a trend out of 2.

Because of course, when Lee says nothing at all, Tigers sign 50 elite players.

Agree, there is probably a percentage of players that go for glory, but for the majority, it’s surely about the money and why not, they don’t have long careers.

The argument is so stupid. It's pretty clear that 99.9% of players go for the dollars. If they are on top dollar they will stay at their current club if they keep getting paid top dollars.

agree, its not just an issue for our club but competition wide.
Why are the Storm, Roosters consistently at the top? They get the choice of the elite young talent because those young players know they are walking straight into a strong team. They then also then get their pick of the talent who have been around a while but never won anything as they want to go to a strong team for a shot at a title. Finally, they can generally keep their top players because they have been successful at that club they feel a sense of belonging there.

The lower teams however need to pay massive overs to attract talent. But they are then instantly disadvantaged as their salary cap is now disproportional and can not sign enough elite talent to field a strong team. So they continue to underperform and remain a lower team.

I hear this a lot, but my take on this is Burton was a steal at that price, JAC not over priced, Thompson good value for money, Burton around market value, Flanagan on $350k is not over paying, Cotric was an Australian and NSW player when he signed, so maybe slightly over priced. DWZ extremely over priced, Allan over priced, Napa over priced but they needed a signing then, Jackson and Elliott probably offered to much to stay.
Overall not as bad as people make out, and they got some quality in amongst them, we couldn't land some of those, and we tried for quite a few of them

Ok so you’ve just completely skipped my question. We can’t get quality players because we suck. I’d argue every other team in the league bar the broncos are closer to winning the comp soon than we are.

I didn't skip your question at all. I don't really understand your question. I'd definitely want to play at the Tigers and I'd recommend anyone to play at the Tigers.

I disagree with your assessment about us not being able to get quality players as well. We just got Ken M. Hastings has signed with us. Giddart has signed with us. Simpkins re-signed with us.

I think that we are in with similar chances of winning the comp within whatever number of years as most other teams. The top teams today like Melbourne and Penrith are much more likely to win the comp within the next couple of years but that can change easily.

Not one of those players you’ve mentioned are quality players. People have turned on Ken already, Hastings and Gildart are super league quality at the moment like David Fifita as in Andrews brother and simpkins in is stuck in reserve grade behind the most bog average 9 in the comp.

Of course you definitely want to play at the tigers, you’re a fan. I’d love to hear your enticing speech to get someone to sign with the tigers, I’d imagine it involves said player getting to wear the same rose tinted glasses you have
