Heard the same thing from a Tigers insider last week. Said he is not happy at The Warriors and feels his career is going backwards over there. Was told if released (which i doubt Warriors would do), then Tigers would definitely be interested.

We would be mad not to be interested. RTS and Nathan Cleary would turn our team into a premiership chance. I suspect signings of this caliber are a couple years off though.

As for Tui, he would make a gun attacking centre but not sure about his defence.

I am not sure why there is a feeling around that we shouldn't be recruiting players when we already have others in that position. Isn't the idea of recruitment to strengthen the roster? If we sign RTS great, and as for Tui, if he plays well then he makes the team. Simple as that. No guaranteed spots, no jobs for the boys, just play consistently well and the coach will have to find you a spot in the 17.

RTS only has 1 season left at the Warriors. So who knows? We might be able to convince the Warriors to let him go early if he tells them he has no interest in signing beyond his current contract.

We have spent way too much on Lolohea to piss him off by signing RTS .. !! I really can't see us having a crack at him, Cleary would have mud on his face if he even thought about it. I think we have enough backs right now for this season, let's have a shot at high level or a really good 2nd tier forward. If we can't get a decent forward, save our pennies for Nathan Cleary the year after.
