Quick update;

1) Tim sheens is boarding a flight tomorrow

2) Tigers confirming with NRL if final spot is still to be filled by 1st of Aug due to Covid

Seems like an incredibly stupid and naive question. Surely all clubs have known what the rules are for some time. We do what we can to get someone from outside and then promote someone like Pauga if necessary

They are asking if the current situation changes the requirement, makes sense to me?

But all the players are in the same bubble in Queensland. We probably wouldn't be asking to bring in someone from outside. If it was a promotion of a junior even then Pauga is already with us up there in any case. So not sure what difference it makes, just that we're stalling

It's not about who is in the bubble, it is about who moves into the top 30 in regards to player payments etc.

I believe the teams in QLD are made up of 30 players plus 11 staff 41 in total.

We took up 29 players and 12 staff + truck load of equipment .

+ Robbie didn't go into bubble so didn't travel to QLD.

Why would we take 12 staff if that locks out player 30? (If there was any immediate signings)
TPJ is elligible to play in round 20. Given he makes a switch.

Just sharing the info dude.

The 29 players that are up there arent all part of the top 30 as we've left AJ, Packer and musgrove behind.

On the WT site, they are saying all 3 are injured?

After sustaining an ACL tear earlier this year, Kepaoa is moving through rehab programs as expected is and is currently working through an intense strengthening program. He will return to running in the next four to six weeks as he eyes off a return in time for the start of the 2022 season.

Packer is continuing to work through his knee injury with a gradual increase in his running load at the moment, while Musgrove has been unsuccessful in a conservative management plan for his foot fracture — progressing him to a surgical repair and a non-weight bearing program for the next four weeks.

Oh well, rolled the dice with Musgrove and came up snake eyes. Geez I hope we get some value out of this guy, else he could make Nofoaluma's similarly long extension look like a bargain in comparison.

Didn't Musgrove suffer a Lisfranc fracture last year and we opted against surgery? That is a tricky injury with long term rehab. It looks like someone made the wrong call.

Is there someone in our structure who previous players have suggested do not take injuries seriously enough & expects players to battle through rather than seek appropriate treatment.

He had surgery on it last year, seems unlucky that he's having more troubles with it. Lisfranc is just about the worst injury you can get in your foot

Tell ya what’s ridiculous?!
Besides AD,Joey Leilua has been our best centre this season 😂 that’s how poor our outside backs have been.
Roberts has been a classic failure and should follow Leilulua out the door.

Just for some respite, what do we think about Alex Glenn as a signing for us? Senior player, leader and could probably sign him for not much. Seems to me to be a guy that the players like to play with and who might get our guys focused week in week out? Just listening to the way Joe O talks of him, is it a terrible idea? Do we just sign guys for on field performance? I feel like Tamou needs some leadership assistance and Alex could be that guy? Thoughts?

Yeah , nah. Plus he's too young. lol

Maybe 4 years ago!

It would be a no from me.
But will watch him a little closer this weekend, I haven't seen him play for a while and will be interesting to see if he is making a difference in leading the Broncos pack.

IMO we need to be looking at solid first graders in that 23-28 age range with decent first grade experience that aren't in the 650k+ territory and continue to focus on finding the promising young players (Laurie, Simpkin, Simpkins etc.).

We're not going to land any big names unless we massively overpay and I'd only want to do that for a top class spine player (B Smith, Ponga, Munster etc.).

It seems like this has been the recent approach so keen to see how it goes.

Although I admit after each game where we are dominated I immediately want us to panic buy someone.

That is pretty much the aim of the club, looking for the right players in that 100-150 game range.

He’s cooked. Would be a forum punching bag.

Does anyone else smell something really off here? Lee stating Tigers will announce a new signing in the coming days then this story drops this afternoon. Please dear God just let it be pure coincidence...........

MILFORD’S MYSTERY NRL SUITOR

New Corp is reporting the 27-year-old is in “advanced stages of brokering a deal” to ensure that fresh environment is still in the NRL.

Milford’s suitor is unknown at this stage, but he has been linked to the Rabbitohs with Jason Demetriou taking over as coach next season. The two have worked together at the Broncos.

I don't think Lee said a signing would be announce in the coming days but said soon and I believe its the bunny getting Milf. Even we could not attract Milf if we wanted him

Regardless of when he said it might happen I honestly hope Milf doesn't end up with us. He seems like the sort of player Tigers would try and justify signing. I've been taking the piss out my mate for weeks who's a massive Bunnies fan that Milf was heading there, imagine the look on my face if he ended up at the Tigers.

Imagine the meltdown on here if we signed Milf. Would be quality reading.
