Just a thought what if we move brooks to centre he can defend well and has a great running game


Brooks is not suited for centre imo

I really don’t see why not if we have Hastings in the halfs just tell brooks to defend and run the ball


Why weaken 1 position to strengthen another?Hastings is not an upgrade on Brooks,he is awful in defence and slower.Hastings is probably a better kicker in general play but that is all.

I’m just thinking they have brought Hastings here to play half back there is no way he’s playing lock just trying to think of way we can have both in the team

As Murray Talaugi has announced resigned I stumbled across this tidbit in the article.

“The Cowboys were offered the services of English twins Innes and Louis Senior, who are contracted to Huddersfield, but any move now appears unlikely for next year with Taulagi now set to re-sign.”

I just looked these boys up.

The Coyboys obviously seen something in them to want to bring them downunder. Would be a first having twins at Wests Tigers , literally playing next to each other .
At the age of 21 , though , i'd be more inclined to sign those at the same age who are here in australia now that have tasted NRL and are next in line.

Be great for members & fans to hear some juniors signing news too given the club’s focus on junior pathways. Even that news gives us all hope & knowledge that recruitment is moving ahead.

On the subject, James Hooper mentioned in his blog we have lost promising junior Jaxson Rahme. This kid was an emerging SG Ball Tigers prop & dominated at the recent NSW school carnival. Very disappointing if true.

But I thought there was a strategy! Yeh right !!

Mate, you've never heard of the bloke, let alone seen him play and you're into the recruitment team for not keeping him. Typical of half a dozen experts in here.

Seen a lot of jersey flegg games and Ogden I’d be signing on dev contract for sure, needs t stay injury free and work on his defence but great prospect. Tumeth and Sykes I’d be signing long term, Dillon I hope stays, I’ve been told he is going to take a top 30 at rival club but can’t see the signing anywhere, he’s and out and out match winner in the junior grade and has the speed to worry any defence, he would need to get bigger and massively work on defence but athletically and how many clean breaks he makes every week he is worth persevering with if we can keep him. Kade hill is promising and I believe he will be here for another 2 years and the other young winger Jordan hill was going great guns before he did his leg in, scolari is tough and consistent which is a big factor, My honest opinion other than the young forward forward from Melbourne just can’t think of his name, I’d wouldn’t be signing anybody else from the flegg side long term. William key I’d be letting go, will never see first grade imo.

Agree with everything you've said here - Mavoni's biggest issue is his engine, runs out of puff too quickly, but that can be fixed with hard work and discipline. Etuale Lui is another one I've been impressed with - bigger than Mavoni and could be anything but needs to put in the work. Sione Tupou is also solid but needs work.

What’s you’re opinion (in short) mate? we won a comp with one of the longest serving and most accomplished coaches at the time and couldn’t attract these “players”
we’ve never been able to attract them!!
I could count on my fingers the good signings this club has made post 2000 (discounting the last 2 years) - and that’s including Blair…
We’ve had other CEO’s (even used to have the Manly CEO, his signings over there are much better than his signings with us) we’ve had plenty of coaches… we’ve had plenty of time…

Demographically, we’re torched!! We don’t have the money to match it with Parra or Penrith - or the location to match it with the other Sydney Clubs…
What do we have to offer any player?

It’s not like it’s a recent thing though. We’ve never really been able to attract top marquee talent
