Are people seriously wanting a 30 year old JDB on a multi year deal deal when he's on a long term deal at about 800k with the drag queens. Massive pass

Why not, h e's a better lock than Finucane at the same age and same money imo.

Be great for members & fans to hear some juniors signing news too given the club’s focus on junior pathways. Even that news gives us all hope & knowledge that recruitment is moving ahead.

On the subject, James Hooper mentioned in his blog we have lost promising junior Jaxson Rahme. This kid was an emerging SG Ball Tigers prop & dominated at the recent NSW school carnival. Very disappointing if true.

But I thought there was a strategy! Yeh right !!

We snapped up that other prop and Saukuru brothers . Maybe he saw limited game time here , as those boys were all nsw/ nz / aus squad players .
Seriously why even follow the club ?

These posts annoy me. You don’t know how much Snake or other fans have invested in the club, both financially and with their time. Just because someone has a differing view of how the club is going doesn’t make them less of a supporter.

They only annoy you because they invalidate your own world view , and undermine your position .
I’m not saying blindly follow the club , but when he says things like “I thought there was a strategy , yea right “ , how is that a differing opinion ? It’s nothing of the sort . Is negativity for negativity’s sake .
If 1 kid who has above average talent , not elite talent , above average , leaves, it doesn’t undermine the whole idea of building . Nor does signing some gun player either .
A series of elite juniors leaving or signing , along with pathway degradation , or improvement may , or may not .
It’s series of events that leads a pathway to what may lie in the future .
And outside of a really poor first grade , which sux , it’s mind boggling , but anyways , we have won at all junior levels , signed smart people, brought back Tim sheens , along with Kimmorley , and continue to sign elite juniors .
The law of averages says this strategy will work, it just takes time , and patience . Something guys like you and snake , have zero time for .
For me , it’s been ten years , what’s another one .
Because I’d much rather sustained success , than 1 or 2 good years then not much.

Seriously man what are you rambling about? I said don’t question others support for the club as you have zero idea what their support looks like.

I pretty much disagree with everything you write but I’m not going to tell you to support another club.

You know exactly what I’m saying , I explained it clearly . Being negative is fine . We all vent , but what’s the point of constantly every single post , sentence is a backhanded compliment , or outright negativity.
I disagree with you a lot as well . As you rarely offer any solution to your whinging . It’s fine to point out flaws , and problems , but rarely do you offer solutions .
“This guy sux,the club sux , this recruit is crap , we can’t recruit people… IT IS CONSTANT!!!
I dont understand it . And I hate reading it . It’s no different to the Wests tigers Facebook page .

I don’t want to fight . As I like hearing your alternate view, and at times I’ve shifted to an idea you’ve had because you’ve validated it concisely , and offered reasoning .
And most of the time I don’t agree . But that’s ok . I’m sure you’re a good bloke , we just offer different world views .

But like I said , I hate whinging with no solution , and I hate bullying or mob mentality (not applicable here).
So when I see it , I’ll call it out , especially when it’s not true . As is in this situation.

I said to you that you shouldn't tell people who to support because you don't know what sort of supporter they are. And for some reason now you're airing your grievances about my posting generally, which is absolutely your right to do. But also please know that I don't care.

Cool man whatever . I’ve explained myself the last 2 posts , if you don’t get it now you never will. And that’s ok . I hope we can win a lot more in the future so you can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel .
All the best mate , it’s hard to convey tone and context in the written format .

we are not the least desired club. we are just not desperate to pull our pants down that we will say yes to any conditions thrown at us

I could not disagree more, we are easily the least desirable club

And that's because we don't have real talented players other players want to play with....too may "try hards" not enough x factor

That is because we can't attract good players, something stinks here, and I have made my opinion known what is a major part of the good players going elsewhere.

What’s you’re opinion (in short) mate? we won a comp with one of the longest serving and most accomplished coaches at the time and couldn’t attract these “players”
we’ve never been able to attract them!!
I could count on my fingers the good signings this club has made post 2000 (discounting the last 2 years) - and that’s including Blair…
We’ve had other CEO’s (even used to have the Manly CEO, his signings over there are much better than his signings with us) we’ve had plenty of coaches… we’ve had plenty of time…

Demographically, we’re torched!! We don’t have the money to match it with Parra or Penrith - or the location to match it with the other Sydney Clubs…
What do we have to offer any player?

Be realistic now….

Basically, Balmain and Wests, and now Wests Tigers never had to really go out and buy players from other clubs. We have mainly developed our own player from juniors, country areas. We probably picked up more players from the UK and NZ than from other NRL sides. Penrith do the same.

The fact our losing percentage is more than 50% in all but 3 years of 22 - Tells me it's not working, It's never worked...

In fact, You could argue our best ever player wasn't a local junior.

Well Balmain did good, and Wests would have done better however the rich clubs constantly raided them. Penrith are doing well now. With Wests Tigers we were doing ok until Sheens left.

If the Coach can’t attract quality players and can’t improve the defence, where does the club go?

I don't call myself an apologist however my take is no matter who the coach is we need to keep recruiting as we have been. We need guys like Stef and Laurie.

So to me no change in approach.

At the right price, i would happily put my grudge aside and welcome Woodsie back.

That grub should never put foot back into our colours after his half hour interview with pooper on Fox when he decided to leave our club. He bagged the s### out of us and he was our captain. After all this club gave him and he had the hide to bag us. Give me a junior any day over him.

We took Benji back

Let's make a similar mistake - great idea.

Sorry to bring this back to a Signing and Suggestion chat.
As Murray Talaugi has announced resigned I stumbled across this tidbit in the article.

“The Cowboys were offered the services of English twins Innes and Louis Senior, who are contracted to Huddersfield, but any move now appears unlikely for next year with Taulagi now set to re-sign.”

I just looked these boys up.

21 yo 6’4 and 100kg.
Wing and Centre
Anyone know much about them.

It sounds like they were keen to try there hand in Aus.

With the cowboys out of the running I wonder if our new head of football may have a word to them?

You might be surprised!

what've ya heard?

People crying out for marquee signings. Who was the last marquee/origin player the two competition leading teams signed? Development is the answer; it will take time but it's clearly the only method that is sustainable.

Another loss for Penrith during their finals charge.

You just know Melbourne would absorb an injury like this and just keep rolling on.

Melbourne is going to smash them this weekend.

They’ve missed there premiership shot
There loss to us put the final nail in the coffin .

#Humiliation
#FlawlessVictory

Only 2 of those are older "experienced" types.
The others can be considered youth, smarter recruitment.

Great, IMO.
Should be aiming for these types and building from the ground up.

Joey Manu and Angus Crichton are off contract in 2022. We should throw the kitchen sink at them. Both in positions of need too. With extra years of development for our young spine and pack, bringing those two in could allow us to take a big step forwards into a dominant side

We need to throw the house , the pool , Inglis's boat and Harry T bank account at both of them

In the spirit of "signing suggestions", here are the players I would be enquiring into that remain off contract according to Zero Tackle.

Broncos: Jesse Arthars
Canberra: Harley Smith-Shields
Titans: Sam Stone, Sam McIntyre
Sea Eagles: Jack Gosiewski
Storm: Isaac Lumelume
Cowboys: Murray Tualagi (would go hard for this dude)
Roosters: Matt Ikuvalu, Fletcher Baker, Egan Butcher
Resignings: Mikaele (2 years), Seyfarth (1 year), Cini (1 year)

I think Offa has been decent.
Maunalo needs to get better and stay in the game the full 80.

I suppose we got Tamou too.

Not the best of the best but making do with what we have i guess.
