It's looking more and more likely that we will be trotting out basically the same team next year as what we currently have. So 2022 is pretty much a write-off, hopefully 2023 is the year we finally have the cattle to make a impression in the competition.

Don’t hold your breath. 2022 was supposed to be the year that we were to have a clean slate with no Reynolds or Packer. Well, we got grub off the books a year early, and only signed a player no one else wanted (Roberts), and with Packer gone we are signing ESL players. When you see what clubs behind us are doing, it’s depressing. And as hard as it is to stomach hearing the media always stick the boot in, they have a point when you compare our recruitment to other clubs. It’s the worst in the competition and it’s not even close.

I’m betting we do better next year.
Lots of deadwood gone and some reasonable upgrades.
No I’m fairly optimistic.

I just looked these boys up.

How complicated is this! Simon Woolford was trying to get them a run in the NRL and nearly had them at the Cowboys but they opted for the young guys they already have. He approached the Tigers ( and others ) about them but apparently, Woolford is not their official manager so we told him to get nicked. Their real manager is not accredited here so can't negotiate with NRL clubs but he has been in contact with a couple of local representatives to see what can be done. They come as a package deal, however, and not many clubs are in a position to make that sort of a deal so we're a massive chance.

Interesting. Isn’t Woolford the one from outside pushing Flannos case and having a private row with Hartigan?

The interesting this is that we 'have' to spend a large amount of our cap...and there is really not a lot left.

If Mbye was to go for 50%, we'd have 2 million plus and not a lot to left to buy.

We are in a very good spot to offer other club's juniors 150-200 more than their current clubs can. We just need to get the right ones (like Stefano...Parra could simply not match us with all their rep forwards on decent money at the time we came in)

We scooped Twal and Aloiai out of Parras system...
Then Stefano.

I love these types of signings.
Hopefully we continue to make moves like this.

We don't need "30 year old x 4 year deal marquee Signing" or "25 year old inconsistent hype boy chasing the bucks" signings.

Play the smart game.
Sure it may take longer but it's more rewarding and ensures years of success... 💯🙌

Would be great IMO, but it would send some on here crazy, as there seems to be a few with a severe allergy to English signings.

I do with the crap ones who are basically dressed up future reggies
