If the Coach can’t attract quality players and can’t improve the defence, where does the club go?

I don't call myself an apologist however my take is no matter who the coach is we need to keep recruiting as we have been. We need guys like Stef and Laurie.

So to me no change in approach.

Ofahengaue, Doueihi, Laurie, Utoikamanu, Blore, Maumalo all from outside the Club..

Only 2 of those are older "experienced" types.
The others can be considered youth, smarter recruitment.

Great, IMO.
Should be aiming for these types and building from the ground up.

Maumalo and Nofoaluma have broken the covid bubble .. both found hiding out In Mullumbimby.

As Murray Talaugi has announced resigned I stumbled across this tidbit in the article.

“The Cowboys were offered the services of English twins Innes and Louis Senior, who are contracted to Huddersfield, but any move now appears unlikely for next year with Taulagi now set to re-sign.”

I just looked these boys up.

21 yo 6’4 and 100kg.

People crying out for marquee signings. Who was the last marquee/origin player the two competition leading teams signed? Development is the answer; it will take time but it's clearly the only method that is sustainable.

Penrith signed Maloney and Tamou who both played all 3 origins the year before they joined Penrith, also both played for Australia the year before they joined Penrith.
You could also say Korosai was a marquee signing as well.
Melbourne are different to every other NRL team in almost every aspect, but they did buy Finucane who had just played for country and in a grand final the year before he signed.

Joey Manu and Angus Crichton are off contract in 2022. We should throw the kitchen sink at them. Both in positions of need too. With extra years of development for our young spine and pack, bringing those two in could allow us to take a big step forwards into a dominant side

We need to throw the house , the pool , Inglis's boat and Harry T bank account at both of them

I’ll sign that petition any day - who’s serving it

@cochise Crichton the more likely and honestly, either one at around 800-900k could drastically change perception for us

I’ve heard Adam is still close with both - although some strings need pulling and we tale no hostages this time...

Our poor performances on the field are only matched or surpassed by our really poor recruitment, which is sad really for us supporters

Lomax if he doesn't hold us to ransom would be just about the best signing we could make honestly. Like if we could get him on the same salary as Douehi we'd be absolutely laughing. Or even just give him Joey Leilua's money.

If Hudson resigned earlier this year, then he is a free agent.
That is unless you meant he re-signed with the Raiders.

None of these players were marquee with the exception of Maloney who at the time was swapped for Moylan an origin player himself .
Strong clubs recruit to supplement the squad or for a specific purpose not build their clubs.
Korosau is a great player but he wasn’t that sought after only the dogs had a crack.

I think Gosiewski is actually better than people give him credit for and has fallen down the pecking order at a good club. He's a pretty good roster guy who has a history of playing at successful clubs. He's one of the rare players I feel you could get for less than he's actually worth. That's why I listed him. I don't expect him to become Isaah Papali'i though.

I think McIntyre being that he was here before is another we could probably get to fill out the roster and not pay overs for. I also think he's not really ever gonna get a real shot at the Titans but he would here. Quite a similar signing.

Ikavalu just impresses me every time he gets a shot at the Roosters but they don't seem to consider him a top 17 guy. I think he'd be good for our roster.
