Forgive me if I'm wrong but I have little faith in the Lomax rumour. None of the usual suspects for inside scoops have outright confirmed it has legs, and the fact that he's on a five year contract with the Dragons acts against it.

This isn't a shot at Demps etc. but I think we should have some form of verification for rumours like this, such as messaging a mod your evidence who then keeps it private. Chinese whispers is rife here - the Cotric rumour is evidence of that. Unverified rumours only serve to make us even more disenfranchised when they don't come to fruition.

I’m not sure about that, the speculation is what gives us that little bit of a high every now and then however I do agree that genuine options may need another thread title.
I know they get their own thread when they sign on or are confirmed to be signing one way or another but It might be a way to sort the discussion from the scoops.

I’m not seeing much of a ‘swap’ in this deal.
The Dragons have agreed to sign MBye for our final contract year probably with us supplementing at least a third of his salary.
Lomax on the other hand is signed to 2025!!!

Yeah, but if they feel he is lost to them after the BBQ affair, they may seek to cut their losses Matterson style.

You're correct in that there really is no way to verify rumours, unless our lippy CEO gets on the dog and bone to radio as he's been known to do.

My suggestion also has a flaw in that unless the source is a known poster here, it's probably likely to be ignored or deleted. I'm not sure what the solution is, I guess I just feel burned by our recruitment and don't want to get my hopes up unless it's a sure thing. Agree wholeheartedly about Lomax - would make my year if we signed him. Exceptional talent.

Just during discussions, relayed what was said and whatnot... and again, all second hand information but got me excited then almost two weeks later more stuff coming to light and it all seemed to be adding up.

All the insiders have been quiet of late ... but very hopeful this one works it's self out.

Success breeds success failure brings you no one of quality.
If I was a decent NRl player and had multiple offers on the table WT would be one to avoid as we appear to be career killers. Hopefully one day a crop of juniors make their way to NRL and changes our narrative until then we are only making up the numbers and bringing more heartache to us the Supporters each year. Cracks me up each off season when we hear the players are fitter, stronger, United for best season ever. Sorry but complete Bull Crap. I have to now enjoy watching other teams to remind me what quality looks like.

As much as I like Lomax he’s not the player that we need going forward. If the tigers are committed to developing our juniors like they say they are we are bound to have great centres come thru. The tigers lack mental resilience, so instead we should look to target Brandon Smith for next season and Clint Gutherson for the following season. These 2 give 100% every game and their ‘McGuire players’. Tbh I don’t where Gutho would play but to have him in the team would be a massive boost to the team.
