As much as I like Lomax he’s not the player that we need going forward. If the tigers are committed to developing our juniors like they say they are we are bound to have great centres come thru. The tigers lack mental resilience, so instead we should look to target Brandon Smith for next season and Clint Gutherson for the following season. These 2 give 100% every game and their ‘McGuire players’. Tbh I don’t where Gutho would play but to have him in the team would be a massive boost to the team.

You grab quality when you can. The very good players will adapt and win you games. Eg- Storm. NSW have 4 fullbacks in the team.

Knocking back Lomax because Ogden might be a gun would be our dumbest ever move- and that’s saying something at WT.

I remember a game a couple of months ago where Mitchell Moses game him a lengthy spray and told him to f*ck off when making a decision around a penalty (kick for goal or tap).

Excellent culture there, *be really sad to see them bow out of the finals early.*

So instead of getting one of the best centres in the game who's on a team-friendly contract, you would rather cross your fingers and hope for the best that players like Talau and Pauga suddenly grows a brain or learns how to tackle, respectively, or that a young star comes through the ranks who will take at least 5 years to develop. Thinking like that could get you a job at the Tigers.

Spot on. We still need to recruit for development gaps. The players that will take the Tigers forward are in flegg and a few in NSW Cup.

With Mbye off the books next year even if we paid half his way approx. $500k, we could afford Lomax and Cotric. We would be out of pocket for $100k if we subsidise Lomax and Cotric's contracts' assuming they are $600k each and we paid 50% of them. So Cotric and Lomax would be $600k against our cap and Mbye $500k. Both good outside backs at those prices. Mbye is a dead weight for the cap as we know. You could make these numbers work easily. All for it. I think Wests are doing a good job trying to get this cap back in order. We can't get Moses' contract off our books next year, it stinks. We could theoretically have Canterbury subsidies two years worth of Cotric's salary given their desperation. That would be a good outcome. Not sure Saints would be willing to pay Lomax's for more than a year, remember he has 5 years on his contact, Cotric only has 2 left. Thanks @Demps love to dream mate. Am picturing Lomax in a Tigers jersey!

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I have little faith in the Lomax rumour. None of the usual suspects for inside scoops have outright confirmed it has legs, and the fact that he's on a five year contract with the Dragons acts against it.

This isn't a shot at Demps etc. but I think we should have some form of verification for rumours like this, such as messaging a mod your evidence who then keeps it private. Chinese whispers is rife here - the Cotric rumour is evidence of that. Unverified rumours only serve to make us even more disenfranchised when they don't come to fruition.

Happy for this to be criticised, just a thought I had this morning.

I think this is a terrible idea. Why would anyone need to verify a rumour that hey have heard? The media that get paid to release stories can’t get it right most of the time. They had Shaun Johnson to be announced at the bulldogs and next minute he is at the warriors.they had TPJ to us , then to the bulldogs , back to us then finally the dogs. The thing I look forward to the most on here is getting so called inside information, whether it’s true or not. Less people are posting their inside info they are getting because posters are jumping all over them when they don’t get it right or it doesn’t happen. If you don’t like rumours then don’t jump onto the signing suggestion and “rumours” page. Or even better maybe separate the two so highly sensitive people don’t take rumours that don’t come true personally.
