Cronulla have extended an NRL lifeline to former Raiders forward Kai O’Donnell after his first-grade career appeared over.

Regarded by the Raiders as physical and a dedicated trainer, O’Donnell will join the Sharks’ bubble later this week after signing a train and trial contract for the remainder of the season.

The 98kg lock-forward was reluctantly released by the Raiders last month as a result of the club needing to cap the amount of players that were allowed to relocate to their Queensland hub at 30

So sharks already have a full squad but are still allowed to add another player under a T&T contract...

Woods discussion is very early & just a gage to see if any interest in returning, nothing concrete & no offer put forward.

Nothing said or mentioned internally from the club about Lomax.

There is plenty out there at the moment, contracts mean nothing. I heard that the expansion being put on hold has forced the hand of players managers who are trying to get new deals. In the words of a player manager based in Brisbane “it’s a buyers market” . There is still 3 months to go before the start of the new season & plenty to play out before the end of the season including a few Tigers who should be fighting to save their careers. The deadline is gone there is no rush to sign anyone now.
