He is a gun and will be a very good player for the Knights for years to come. I doubt they will let him go and he will be their 5/8.

What about Watson, they paid good coin for him, and he didn't go there to play 14 again.

I though Watson wanted to play fullback?

What will they do with Pongo then..Million + for a winger..

Pongo ??

Does he play the bongo

Try Ponga …..your slipping old boy

Honestly if they play Ponga at fullback they will concede far more points than his attacking ability is worth. I am not so sure.

Ponga will probably be their fullback

Not sure he will be.

Pretty sure Watson wanted to play five eighth, that's one of the reasons he chose Newy over us - we already had Reynolds. I think it will be Watson & Pearce in the halves and Ponga at the back.

Wests Tigers make play for Warriors captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck

Wests Tigers have entered the race for the signature of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck as the joint venture attempts to land a long-term replacement for James Tedesco.

Tuivasa-Sheck, off contract at the end of the year, is one of the hottest properties on the open market as league and union clubs clamour for his signature. Fairfax Media can reveal the Tigers have contacted his management to register their interest in the hope of bringing the former Roosters fullback back to Sydney.
The departure of Tedesco to the Roosters – who will line up against his former club in a blockbuster opening to the NRL season – has left a void at the Tigers. Tui Lolohea is likely to get first crack at the position, although Kevin Naiqama will also have claims after a starring role in Fiji's Rugby League World Cup campaign.

However, Lolohea is equally adept at playing anywhere in the back line and there is a feeling the club needs a superstar replacement for NSW custodian Tedesco.
RTS is at the top of the Tigers' wish list, although they face stiff opposition for his signature. The Warriors are desperate to retain the New Zealand skipper and have opened negotiations. There is interest from other Sydney clubs, including South Sydney, who view the 24-year-old as a better long-term fullback proposition than Greg Inglis and Alex Johnston.

However, the biggest threat could be rugby union. Tuivasa-Sheck seriously considered a switch to a New Zealand Super Rugby franchise when he was off contract with the Roosters before committing to the Warriors. He played both codes while attending school in Auckland and has previously spoken about the lure of playing for the All Blacks.

Having represented New Zealand at a Rugby League World Cup, he would likely have to switch at the end of the season to give himself enough to time be seriously considered for the rugby union equivalent.

The NRL rumour mill went into overdrive last week with suggestions Tuivasa-Sheck had agreed to terms with the Auckland Blues, a claim quickly refuted by his management. The Warriors privately believe the scuttlebutt was fuelled by New Zealand rugby officials once lawyers became involved in the contract dispute surrounding young gun Etene Nanai-Seturo. The fullback represented New Zealand at the Sydney Sevens tournament after claiming his five-year Warriors deal, signed at the age of 15, was not binding. The tug of war for his services continues.

Warriors chief executive Cameron George remains hopeful Tuivasa-Sheck will re-sign.

"We have had open, honest and frank discussions about what we're trying to achieve and the timeframe in which we could do that," George said last week. "He's a massive part of that for us and he knows that."

The Tigers have enough money in their salary cap to accommodate Tuivasa-Sheck this season, but there is no chance the Warriors will let him leave early. The black, white and golds released Moses Suli from the final two years of his contract to join Canterbury and still have two spots to fill in their top-30 squad. The club has been the most active in the player market having signed Josh Reynolds, Benji Marshall, Russell Packer, Ben Matulino, Chris McQueen, Mahe Fonua, Taane Milne, Robbie Rochow and Corey Thompson in the off-season.

Coach Ivan Cleary is yet to appoint a captain, with Chris Lawrence, Elijah Taylor and Josh Reynolds among the leading candidates.

Ponga will definitely be fullback. You don't sign a kid on a 3 million dollar deal and play him out of position!

1\. Ponga
6\. Watson
7\. Pearce

Absolute lock for the start of the season, unless injuries strike..

We've be in touch with RTS's agent, as have many clubs i'm sure. Don't see him staying at the Warriors next season. Even rugby seems doubtful. He's only be on 200k unless he gets topped up by the All Blacks later, and they do have a LOT of proven performers in the outside backs.

If that is the case we should go hard after Brock Lamb, he will be the future NSW SOO 5/8.

Didn't he already sign with the Dogs or Manly?

Never rated him. Looks very average and no better than what we already have. Sign him up or nsw cup but we have benji and gamble already

No that was cogger. Lamb showed me enough last year to be a really good player. Though Cleary should be our number 1 pick. Jeez id just be happy to know that our tries would be converted if he came here haha.

Lambs ability to dig into the line and ball play very late is amazing for a youngster. He will be a good first grade 5/8 for someone. Personally i'd have at 6 for Newcastlw instead of Watson. Pearce cant play at the line and Watson is a runner. They desperately need a half to ask questions with runners around him and thats Lamb.

Jack cogger signed with the bulldogs.
He’s a good young talent also.

It’s only February but already one club CEO is under immense pressure to retain his position.

This bloke loves to shoot his mouth off in the media and can’t get enough of seeing his name in the paper.

The only problem is he often goes off before acceptances and has failed to deliver on other big ticket items.

The club’s board would love to see more action than words in coming months.

Who could this be ????

Have we heard any more about the COE ?

Maybe Buzz taking pot shots at us, but I really doubt our CEO is in any trouble with the board. He has done a great job, our bottom line is healthy, our memberships are up, our brand name is strong, basically everything is going well except our football performance and with Cleary that will get better…fingers crossed
