Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Nah …..why would we want an Australian and Origin rep that could play anywhere in the backline and be by streets our best player...

I'll just see myself out...

very true… The people on here are hilarious.

If Cleary doesnt walk into Pascoe's office and tell him to sign Munster, maybe we should be throwing Cleary off the bus!

Russell Packer did some awful things, and we are giving him redemption.

Why not Munster then?

Russell's problems are behind him. Munster's aren't. Doesn't mean I wouldn't throw him a lifeline but still, there's a big difference between the two.

Packer hasnt played a game yet - things can change very quickly on here if he doesnt live up to expectation.

Not sure if it has been touched upon, but the Panthers releasing Cartwright gives them more cash to throw at Cleary, possible front loading. What a delicate position Ivan has the potential to be in soon if we do show interest. From a coaches perspective, he would love him. As a father though, you want your children to get the best possible deal. And I think Penrith may throw more money at him then we will. Win/win for Ivan.

Reckon Munster would goto Penrith? Gus needs a win on the board and I could see Munster replacing Moylan very easily.

I bet he's going to the Roosters Luke Keary is injured and Cronk is there

It would be a link, but even with the flexible ledger the Roosters have how on earth could they fit Munster except on the lowest salary. They Maxed out their cap signing already. Seriously if they sign Munster we just got to Riot next game.

The more drama about Coaching unrest that surfaces; also increases the chance of Hook not being there after this season.
It Maybe enough for Gus to go to Cleary ( if he goes well this seasonj
And make it worth his while to comeback to the Panthers next year.
Nathan hasn’t signed yet, and it might be the catelyst for him to stay there.
Cleary is in a good position as things sit now,(as long as we don’t go pearshape this year.
Its ironic that we need him to be a great Coach:
But thebetter he gets, the more attractive he is to the Panthers as a double act.
From what I’ve seen of Gus over the years, I don’t think that he’d have any problems in saying that he was wrong about Cleary

I know he’s got a contract here;
, but he’s said that he wants to coach his son at some time, and things may be aligning at the Panthers,
Penrith have some of the best dept in the NRL, and I don’t think they will suffer much from the players have lost this year, it seems there’s a tree in the backyard that drops backrowers like confetti.

Difference between Suli and Munster is one bloke is bludging through rehab and training and has achieved 0 in the game. The other one is a repl player, goose and maybe a moron, but there is nothing to suggest he doesn't put in.

Being lazy affects performance. Being lazy costs games.
Being a goose and moron off the field doesn't.

But he is on the wrong side of his captain, who will be remembered as one of the greatest players. The example he sets as an Aust rep and Qld player impacts the discipline of the squad. Bellamy is big on discipline and structure. We don't need a loose cannon at Wts.

I do agree in part, but I'm not against giving people a chance to change environment, at least once. Melbourne is a great environment for most young players, but it is possible that with a change in club behaviour may change too.

I will admit it is unlikely, but I imagine blokes like Reynolds (on the field) and Packer (off the field)have done enough dumb things and come through the other side to be influencers. They would be very different to Smith, but I think he is quite a dodgy bugger in his own way, just more of a hypocrite as he is paraded as the NRLs hairy legged centrefold.

Anyway, looks like this deal died quickly. Time to target some other troubled soul.

Oh yeah sorry my bad..we don't need him we have Lolohea and Reynolds…

He is a good player but I don't want someone here with obvious attitude problems. 3 last year and 1 before the season even starts this year. These types of guys can derail a club.

I think we should only have players on our books that have the right attitude.

He's pretty much the best young player in the game. I really can't see the Storm releasing him and even if they did there'd be chequebooks galore thrown at him. The Cowboys and Broncos in particular would be all over him.

People keep blaming the passengers on the bus , maybe the problem is the bus itself Watto

What do you guys think of Brock Lamb from the Knights. I haven't seen a lot of him, but he looks decent. I think he kicks goals too. Not sure of his contract status but I'd imagine he'll be in Reserve Grade all 2018 and looking for a first grade start somewhere else.

He is a gun and will be a very good player for the Knights for years to come. I doubt they will let him go and he will be their 5/8.

What about Watson, they paid good coin for him, and he didn't go there to play 14 again.

Report: Cameron Munster could be released by Storm over off-field antics

Cameron Munster of the Storm.
Cameron Munster of the Storm.

AN explosive column has reported Cameron Munster could be released by Melbourne as a direct result of ongoing off-field antics.

NRL.com claims Storm officials and some players — most notably captain Cameron Smith — are fed up with the talented utility for the way he behaves and his attitude.

It follows Fox Sports’ chief NRL reporter James Hooper last week revealing Munster had been sent home from Kangaroos camp for punching on with teammate Ben Hunt during the World Cup.

NRL.com understands the club is considering releasing the 23-year-old from his contract, which runs to the end of 2019.

Craig Bellamy is famous for running a tight ship, with a foundation of discipline and professionalism led by senior players like Smith and Billy Slater.

Munster is known for being a bit of a party animal and has felt the wrath of Bellamy in the past.

Sign him up…..get it done Ivan...

Could this Munster thing be related to this other rumour that's going around? If it is, he's not really someone I'd want at the club. Though I don't really think the two are related.

what rumor?

If his captain at Club, State and Test level has had enough of his attitude and behaviour, after winning the triple alongside him last year, then I say dont go near him with a bargepole.

I though Watson wanted to play fullback?

Ponga will probably be their fullback
