Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Last reject we got from Bellamy turned out really great.

Lodge and Blair. maybe we might have more luck with a back.

also from NRL.com

"Gutho to be kept in cotton wool

The Parramatta Eels won't take any risks with Clint Gutherson. They are being extra cautious as he recovers from his second ACL knee injury.

While Gutherson is determined to get back as soon as possible, NRL.com understands the Eels are willing to give him as long as it takes. Normal recovery from an ACL injury can take up to nine months. If that's the case, round eight will bring up the nine-month mark."

Not sure if it has been touched upon, but the Panthers releasing Cartwright gives them more cash to throw at Cleary, possible front loading. What a delicate position Ivan has the potential to be in soon if we do show interest. From a coaches perspective, he would love him. As a father though, you want your children to get the best possible deal. And I think Penrith may throw more money at him then we will. Win/win for Ivan.

Gould was saying 2MMM yesterday that Nathan is the total profession and it isn't concerned with money or future contracts. (just after the 3 mins mark on the podcast).
still if you're not unhappy at Penrith and a massive pay day comes around. it would be hard to say no to.

Reckon Munster would goto Penrith? Gus needs a win on the board and I could see Munster replacing Moylan very easily.

I bet he's going to the Roosters Luke Keary is injured and Cronk is there

It would be a link, but even with the flexible ledger the Roosters have how on earth could they fit Munster except on the lowest salary. They Maxed out their cap signing already. Seriously if they sign Munster we just got to Riot next game.

Their spine is already stacked. Seems like money better spent elsewhere.

Gutherson also knows the words to Eye of the Tiger…

Who doesn't ??

I know the words to Eagle Rock …... 😕

Most know the words to Piano Man , Khe Sahn and American Pie

You are a strange man :crazy

We seem to be following in the footsteps of the swans with a "no dickheads" policy.

Can't see why Ivan would take Munster seeing he seems to go against everything we're trying to build, even if he is a quality player.

We'll take the scraps offloaded from whichever club does sign him.

Report: Cameron Munster could be released by Storm over off-field antics

Cameron Munster of the Storm.
Cameron Munster of the Storm.

AN explosive column has reported Cameron Munster could be released by Melbourne as a direct result of ongoing off-field antics.

NRL.com claims Storm officials and some players — most notably captain Cameron Smith — are fed up with the talented utility for the way he behaves and his attitude.

It follows Fox Sports’ chief NRL reporter James Hooper last week revealing Munster had been sent home from Kangaroos camp for punching on with teammate Ben Hunt during the World Cup.

NRL.com understands the club is considering releasing the 23-year-old from his contract, which runs to the end of 2019.

Craig Bellamy is famous for running a tight ship, with a foundation of discipline and professionalism led by senior players like Smith and Billy Slater.

Munster is known for being a bit of a party animal and has felt the wrath of Bellamy in the past.

Sign him up…..get it done Ivan...

Could this Munster thing be related to this other rumour that's going around? If it is, he's not really someone I'd want at the club. Though I don't really think the two are related.

Agreed, releasing Suli for so called attitude problem, than picking up a bad boy cast off from the Storm would be a very bad look. We sure could use him, but it will not happen, my guess Bellyache is putting a massive rocket under him by going public

Nah …..why would we want an Australian and Origin rep that could play anywhere in the backline and be by streets our best player...

I'll just see myself out...

All this talk of players and Griffen not getting along puts us in a better position imo, regardless of how much Penrith have to spend on Cleary. The one thing we will have to do though to have any chance is to climb the ladder and show a big improvement. Nathan nor his father would want him going to a cellar dwelling club. However making the finals would mean Brooks has had a good year which would make the decision to go for Nathan more difficult.

I saw an article the other day on Twitter saying how the Roosters still have $750k to spend in the 2018 cap. My own response probably got me in trouble.

And We can chase Cleary whilst retaining Brooks if Brooks' form warrants it. The top teams seem to have three good halves anyway.

What do you guys think of Brock Lamb from the Knights. I haven't seen a lot of him, but he looks decent. I think he kicks goals too. Not sure of his contract status but I'd imagine he'll be in Reserve Grade all 2018 and looking for a first grade start somewhere else.

Yeh, a young guy who has played fullback, centre and 5/8th at an elite level, no need for him, we got it covered, never ceases to amaze me Geo, how are we ever suppose to get to the pointy end of the ladder if we don't speculate and accumulate.

Difference between Suli and Munster is one bloke is bludging through rehab and training and has achieved 0 in the game. The other one is a repl player, goose and maybe a moron, but there is nothing to suggest he doesn't put in.

Being lazy affects performance. Being lazy costs games.
Being a goose and moron off the field doesn't.

But he is on the wrong side of his captain, who will be remembered as one of the greatest players. The example he sets as an Aust rep and Qld player impacts the discipline of the squad. Bellamy is big on discipline and structure. We don't need a loose cannon at Wts.

Melbourne will surely give him every chance to turn his attitude around, he's too talented to simply sack. Having said that, with Suli off the bus we would probably have enough coin to get Munster if he is told to pack his bags.

Would expect that if the storm ditches him and we are interested, placing suitable clauses in a contract should not be a problem. That is as long as his weight has not ballooned as well.
