anyone watch trent robinsons post match conference? Dear lord he rinses Henry Perenara

Sure did. He didn’t miss did he. Robbo handles himself so well in press conferences. I can see why the players put it every week for him, he’s definitely got their backs.

54 - 12. Robbo is learning what it's like to coach a team under the salary cap. Loved his presser but his team got beat convincingly because they didn't have the number of superstars he is use to, and the other team did. Welcome to our world.

54-12 with a team still with the Australian captain Teddy. As well as the next million dollar player in Manu, and the next Queensland halfback in Walker.

They only score 12 to one of the worst defensive teams in the top 8. And have 54 put on them

We don't have these types of players. If we lose to by this score everyone on the forum and in the media think its the end of the world and call to sack the coach.

>Iva Roosters lose they say they don't have their stars.

Thanks for the perspective. I suppose the issue is Roosters do it once per season and we do it multiple times

Because the Roosters have not had a squad as weak as this current team for as long as anyone can remember, and Robinson with all his coaching cred is not going to make much difference when he comes up against better squads. The defensive structure... very WTs like.

So it's not the coach but the quality of the players. I agree.

I suppose when Ivan was here it was the quality of the players that helped us beat Melbourne twice.

Ivan is an excellent coach, far better than Maguire.

This is his 15th season coaching FG and he has never won a comp.
that’s the worst record per capita in the NRL

But was still in demand from one of the frontrunning clubs. Hasn't their choice paid off. Watching the Panthers play their brand of football is a pleasure. Great talent, great development, great players and great coach. I wish we had the same.

Tell us again how the best half back in the world and the best coach in the world did when they were at the tigers. Cleary only got the job at the panthers so Nathan could re sign with them.

This is all you need to know about Ivan. He is still yet to win a premiership and without his son would probably have been fired by us, by now.

Roosters lose they say they don't have their stars.

Roosters have been decimated by injuries this year and are still on the cusp of the top 4. That is all on Robinson.

And as the team becomes more decimated they become less competitive against better squads and have 54 points put on them - just like the teams that are ranked ***in the bottom half of the comp*** without access to rep/quality players. In terms of coaching it becomes an equalizer.

They have been decimated the whole season and are (for now) still in the 4. The teams in the bottom half are still in the bottom half. Hardly an equalizer.

Yes for the one game. Roosters have done an incredible job this year.

I can’t believe they’ve managed to stay in the top 4 after all the injuries. Been a hell of an effort.

Still have Teddy, Tupenoa, Tupou, and Manu last night - 4 players who would make significant difference to any or all of the bottom sides and yet they still got smashed by a very strong South's line up.
Reinforces why we are where we are on the ladder when a team decimated like the Roosters - with still those quality players and Robinson as coach - get 54 points scored against them - puts a lot in perspective.

Roosters only named 20 players instead of 21 this week, because that is all they have. They have Lam, a half in the centres, a guy who started in RMC this year playing, two of their best halves out, best prop out, KEary, Lindsay Collins, Suaali, Billy Smith, Ikavalu, Morris, Friend, Cordner, Copley, Nat Butcher, Chrichton and Radley suspended,

A team missing all of those players is still top 4. Incredible IMO.

I suppose when Ivan was here it was the quality of the players that helped us beat Melbourne twice.

And beating Melbourne twice at the end of the season means jack if you don't win enough games to make the finals who ever you play against. If the team can beat Melbourne twice and lose to weaker teams is that Ivan's fault or the squad?

So what you're saying is that it is always the players? Because that's the notion I'm responding to.

Alright, get the thread back on track regarding signing rumours - posts going off track from this point will be deleted.

For next season we need 2 centres, a winger, a middle, a second rower and a half (due to AD)

Wouldn't be surprised if they only sign one more centre up. Talau, Gildart and AJ all centres. Guess it depends on where they play AJ

Wonder how many centres other teams carry in their 30? We definitely need at least one, a backup winger and another quality prop. People say prop isn't an issue but we've resorted to rookies and reserve graders because of injury and suspension to our middles.

Tuilagi, Garner, Blore and Luciano is a good second row rotation but another rookie second rower who's got promise would be great so they could take over form Garner in 2023.

We'll sign Tyrone Peachey. Lock it in.

Brent Read was reporting today John Bateman is looking to return to the NRL. Tigers should have a red hit crack if true.
