Flanagans record at the Sharks was pretty good , plenty semi final footy and a grand final plus when he arrived there they were about where we are now , way off finals ability , He won’t risk any stuff ups , he can attract players , he talks like he knows what’s going on in his commentary , It’s him or Bennett if they delay addition team to the comp , my money is on Flanagan to take over and within a couple weeks , the Tigers can’t sit back for to long , the coaches call will be done pretty quick I think then the new guy can come in and get some players over to us ,

Yeah we have plenty of exciting youngsters coming through but who knows if they will transition into top First Graders.
We were excited about Cini, Madden etc but in my opinion they will never be top players.
Out of our entire squad we have 3 really good players....
Doueihi - a fantastic player who actually tries hard
Laurie - a rookie
Stefano - a rookie

That is a pitiful state of affairs and frankly it’s depressing.
We need to get quality players in who won’t break the bank. Tariq Sims would be a good start

Youth is the way to go. More signings like Laurie, Stefano etc is the only way we get out of this hole. Signings like Tariq Sims and Blake Ferguson get us no where

I agree, but Tariq Sims if he at least took the field would be an upgrade on Russell Packer.

All you need to do to be an upgrade on Russel Packer is make 4 runs a game lol

Overall I believe among Sharks' supporters he is still well thought of, not only because of the premiership but also the junior systems he had in place. John Morris had a lot to do with Pathways at the Sharks. When a player hit the NRL they knew what to expect and how to be an NRL player.

If you read about Flanagan, he analysed the players in his squad and changed the playing style to suit the tough nuts. I recall being at Shark Park (Caltex, Endeavour etc) and it was a confronting atmosphere on and off the field. It was always a tough, grinding niggling game but the Sharks also had sufficient spark in their backline.

I feel sorry for Madge in that it has been clear that the Fox Sports team has gone out of their way to promote Flanagan, a drug cheat, over Madge. It has been cringeworthy to see him on the panel discussing what is going on at the Tigers. It was like giving him the opportunity to rehearse his job interview for the Hag. Not a huge fan of the Peptide guy along with the dodgy technicality surrounding Cronulla's Salary Cap breaches.

That list Clarkey posted was from an opinion piece Fox Sports did about who the tigers might sign - no actual substance to it.

I think we should look at John Asiata. He'll be dirt cheap, he's a good ball playing middle forwards and is a solid player.

I worry that with all the cap room we have left they'll go out and sign players on stupid deals again. We shouldn't be signing anyone over the age of 30 (unless they're a star)
