We have the money for next year. two year deals for both with clubs kicking in about 25% for each next year would be ok.

Marty apparently goes up to 800k a season next year
Sims apparently stay on around 620k a season next year.
If we picked both up with a bit of a kick from the clubs I’d see value in it. Certainly more value than Woods rejoining.
Marty perfect front row pair for Stef and mentor for Mikalee who could be our Kapow from 2014. And Sims can play middle and back row and would be a good mentor for Blore. Much needed reinforcements!

Marty is a Prop but yeah I get the point age wise. Having said that Marty's numbers this year were pretty decent. Averaged 157m a game, 53 tackle busts, 620 tackles at 95% efficiency and over 1250m post contact. I'd take him over Woods any day.

Understood and for the right price I'd be happy with Sims. He has something that we dont have (other than that one time with Blore) in that he does seem to hurt in defence. His defence may not be the most efficient but he does seem to hit hard. In any game where he was playing as a fan I was looking out for him, let alone what the players must be doing.

Wouldn’t say no to Sims and Marty. Both of them next year being paid by their former club and both set a great example in training. Marty’s stats also particularly impressive this year while not being mentioned. Both 2 year deals (probably CO for Marty for a 3rd year) and would make no real damage to the cap

I did say both

A starting FR pack of Stef and Marty with Mikaele, Twal, Tamou, Musgrove, Joffa, Seyfarth and Tuki Simpkins in the mix is a pretty decent mix of youth and experience in the engine room.

they made enquiries for Nofo and Madge came out and said he is not going anywhere
Penrith did the right thing with Mansour sat him down and said you will be palying reserve grade and he left to head to souths
If that had been put to Nofo mate if you stay you may not be seeing much first grade he may well have done a move to Melbourne you never know

And he might not have.

Too many people think you can trade like its a video game. It is much more complex than that.

I get that but you can do what Penrith did to Mansour if you think it benefits and frees up a space for another player

Except we can't because no one else will take them because for too long we have had players on too much.

So your saying the only reason why re didn’t perform this year was we had the wrong coach and senior players do not impact the playing group at all?

Meh.. I am not opposed to having Sims and Marty..

Sims still in the NSW Origin Squad and does alot of work, while Marty will be a better option than Amone on the bench.

At this stage.. no one else is really out there..

We missed Mcciness, Finucane and Liu all similar / same as two mentioned above but didnt go for them.. rather experience than young guys in COE.
