He is also such a **smart footballer between the ears and knows how to control a game**..

This is a huge part of what's been missing in 2021. Some of the play was absolutely **brainless**, particularly through the back end of the season.

I've heard zero from the club about Hodgson being chased. So what that says to me is that when he stays a Raider or moves to Gold Coast, it will be yet another baseless story about how Wests Tigers botched the signing.

If you check my posts, I mentioned this as a good option (in my opinion) some months ago (8/8/21 to be exact). Its no surprise to me at all. I've not heard any official comments on it, that's all.

I've never said it was crap, my point is regardless of it being factual or not, it will be reported as factual and how we botched yet another signing if it doesn't happen.

The club can't win.

As people have rightly pointed out, Maguire is only made 'responsible' for recruiting players when they don't come.

If recruiting Shawn Blore is one of your coups you ain't done much. Chammas hasn't done him a favour.

A few people in the last couple months said Hartigan was over his head. Perhaps he's also being made an example of for leaking to the media? @cochise

I can understand why someone whose main strength is recruiting junior "elite" talent - given we've the new pathways in place and have Kimmorley and Betsey, and we require more than that. Just confused about the McDonnell thing, like I asked before is he as bad as is stated on here?
What sort of reputation does he have with NRL players - which signings has he made in his tenure at all clubs he's been at etc.,??

He established the relationship with Keebra Park SHS. One of our good young centres from Flegg is a Kiwi he recruited for Canterbury with his younger brother. His younger brother has returned to the Dogs but the older brother still at WTs looks an outstanding centre prospect. I believe Sheens will like to do a lot of the NRL recruitment. He was known as the 'recruiter' at WTs.

I think that’s why old mate Chammas finds it bizarre. He doesn’t know where he’s gonna get his info from anymore

You could probably answer that yourself by looking at his previous tenure at the Bulldogs from 2016-2019. I wouldn't imagine it would cover him in glory, but i havent had a look.

Am i wrong in saying there is a cap now for all footy departments. I am led to believe you can only pay so much now to stop clubs going broke sacking coaches and the like. I would assume now Sheensy is back we may have gone over the cap so Hartigan was let go. Either way Ill put my trust in Sheensy to identify the future talent required. Hartigan did some good stuff but failed in many ways.

All I can say is that I am aware a number of our junior stars have been promised a lot but getting paperwork for next year has never been forthcoming. If you speak to some of the agents, they have been pulling their hair out for months.

This club is so bloody disorganised - whether someone was holding back Hartigan I don't know. It's amazing how being all over the shop off the field runs deep throughout the club and onto the field.

It will be a miracle but if the club doesn't move quickly, some of these kids will be lost.

It is the other side of the story that gets too me. Liddle is a very fine player and a loyal WT. I believe he is a captain in waiting at WTs. He is articulate and presents well. He has made an amazing recovery from a very serious knee injury. Injuries of this type take a long time to overcome. I know this as my brother in law was a physio at two former first grade clubs. These posts which want to move him on are in very poor form.

I like and respect Liddle. For tigers to be top eight we need above average players. Is he in the top 4-8 hookers? I personally think he’s reached his ceiling hence the whole not in the future plans talk.

Josh Hodgson hasn't been in the top 4-8 hookers for the past two years, and sure as hell isn't going to be in two years' time.

Would he play for Australia?

He's British though isn't he? So no he wouldn't play for Australia. Also if the prerequisite for signing a 9 to our club is that they are the Australian hooker we'll be waiting a while.

The implication in saying “Josh Hodgson is an international hooker, are you kidding me?” is suggesting that representing England is as big of an achievement and as impressive as being an Australian international. It’s nowhere near the same. How much competition would he have for that jersey? As good as he was at his peak, he would not have come close to an Origin or Australian jersey. Any other rep jumper doesn’t carry the same significance as a lot of average players represent other nations because they simply aren’t as strong.
