I've heard zero from the club about Hodgson being chased. So what that says to me is that when he stays a Raider or moves to Gold Coast, it will be yet another baseless story about how Wests Tigers botched the signing.

When Journo's start interviewing and quoting other journo's as if it's fact, it's time for the funny farm.

It is the other side of the story that gets too me. Liddle is a very fine player and a loyal WT. I believe he is a captain in waiting at WTs. He is articulate and presents well. He has made an amazing recovery from a very serious knee injury. Injuries of this type take a long time to overcome. I know this as my brother in law was a physio at two former first grade clubs. These posts which want to move him on are in very poor form.

I like and respect Liddle. For tigers to be top eight we need above average players. Is he in the top 4-8 hookers? I personally think he’s reached his ceiling hence the whole not in the future plans talk.

Josh Hodgson hasn't been in the top 4-8 hookers for the past two years, and sure as hell isn't going to be in two years' time.

IMO he’s higher up the list than liddle in the short term. and tigers will develop or recruit for the long term.

I just think we should invest in our juniors like simpkin and invest hard let blokes like liddle go to another club sure he may flourish under a new coach but long term success wise we benefit from keeping simpkin and bringing in talent like Hodgson and bringing up our young boys like simpkin like Rua and Scolari

I don't understand the hate for Liddle. Can anyone explain where this comes from? And not just "I reckon ".... facts please. I see a capable dummy half who has exploded clear for try's on several occasions and managed a reasonable pack to positive metreage on most occasions. Please explain any improvement you can see with the signing of another hooker. People on here were screaming for Simpkin to be given a go until he was given a go, We saw how that turned out.

No issue with Liddle in the squad here. I think he is a great running 14, solid enough in other aspects of the game.

He is not an 80 minute hooker at NRL level yet, and his service can be patchy. It is hard to say more than "I reckon" as I've never seen a stat for crispness of delivery from DH. They should invent one though. I'd keep him and give Simpkin 12 more months, but if he is white anting at all he has to go (have only seen rumours of it here).

2 things we lack that this switch addresses. Guys that buy into a better culture, and that means playing at 100% irrespective of the coach. And the second is leaders who understand success.

Hodgson is not perfect, but in these 2 areas he is a slight upgrade at worst.

Now we need 1, preferably 2 fast outside backs, and 1 very angry, ugly, stinky forward.

Agree, though I don’t have a problem with a possible signing of Hodgson, just think we have other priorities such as backs and a forward, not hookers?

Pure speculation, but I don't think Maguire was getting the roster he wanted, partially because Hartigan was so staunch on player valuations. With Sheens coming in, something had to give.

Looks like the right decision.

Our recruitment has been a big problem, th leaks have been a problem mayby it was him.

He was shoved from job to jobat roosters and took us frim 9th to 13th. No point having 2 heads of footy

No idea why they would let go of Hartigan. With Sheens being made head of football I understand that Hartigan's job has then been made redundant but he should at least be involved in some capacity within the club in identifying and recruiting young talent (a field in which he's shown to be more than competent). And for Sheens to let go of Hartigan and bring back McDonnell... let me just say it's not been a great start to Sheens' return for me

Since everyone is an appointed expert on Adam H all of a sudden, can someone not named Cochise, tell me what he’s done for the club aside from identifying junior talent ? My knowledge of all that background stuff is very little but surely the role of general manager of football has more to do than that ? Not to mention the 2 juniors I see mentioned in spades on here is Ogden and Hill and it appears the club is on the verge of losing both of them. No good identifying junior talent if you can’t keep it right ?

The replacement is dumb granted but the best clubs don’t let go of people like that if they’re so important

My knowledge of all that background stuff is very little but surely the role of general manager of football has more to do than that ? Not to mention the 2 juniors I see mentioned in spades on here is Ogden and Hill and it appears the club is on the verge of losing both of them. No good identifying junior talent if you can’t keep it right ?

Wasn't there someone on here who knew him from the Roosters days and was very critical of what he'd done there?
