So if we signed Barba, he would be the 30th player?

My understanding it would be our 29th as this is just an exemption to give us more time as these rules are just coming in. There is another club with an exemption but I cant remember who it was.

Yeah it's a bit ambiguous. In theory right now we have 30 counting Ballin and Sironen. There's an exemption for us to go to 31 because Ballin had a career ending injury. As it was told to me C Sironen could be removed from our books pretty easily.

So short answer, there is room for two but no requirement to act on it as of now.

Ballin was signed to a 2 year deal starting 2016, and ended last year. He isn't on the cap, nor is he a top 30 player.

Sironen, while some of his wages are counted on our salary cap (very little, something like $100k of a $400/500k contract), he is not a top 30 player. You CAN NOT be counted as a player for a club while at another club. So our top 30 still has 2 spots (well technically 1 and no. 29 had to be filled by March 1st.

Hope this has cleared this up.

Okay well you clearly think you know better and. I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with you - I've passed on what i was told from someone who has always been right.

Well it doesen't actually because Tigers and Manly both recieved an exemption from the NRL to have not chosen a 29th player by March 1st - now thats cleared up

So I'm guessing that means we have spent at least the minimum required of our cap for 2018 if the NRL have cleared it , which could clear us to front load a contract for 2019 possibly …..

Kurt Baptise?

Roosters apparently are gonna snare him, we should throw our hat in the ring before it’s too late

In the very first instalment, MG discusses the possibility of Robbie Farah leaving the Sydney for the nation's capital, Aiden Tolman heading to the Sharks, Gus Gould potentially taking more of an on-field coaching role with the Panthers and much much more.

If true I guess they see something in him
I thought they already had a pretty good pack

Are you Jason Taylor? How many hookers do we need?

Liddle is still very raw and I’m pretty sure he’s injured for a bit.

Mcwrillick looked quite poor in the trials,

As everything stands that Pita Godinet bloke will be starting hooker come round 1.

Min contract and we have a spot to fill, 2 year contract with the second in our favour won’t do any harm

Id take Farah back before Baptiste

We have most definitely moved on.

They do have a good pack but they're shallow on prop depth - Fifita, Prior, Seumanufagai and then probably Uele. Tolman is fine as a worker prop but he doesn't offer anything special and doesn't bend the line at all. We are already well and truly covered on workers with Twal, Eisenhuth and Matulino.

Scary to think godinet may actually be in the 17 next week.
I hope ET gets a start their before him.

Unless he goes to the Raiders, Farah will finish his career in reserve grade.

He'd be one of the first picked if he was available for us right now. I'd have him back with the same pay or less than Benji and with the same understanding.

On one hand are celebrating getting agendas and backstabbing out of the club, and then people are suggesting one of the chief culprits returns.

Seriously, it is like telling a surgeon to take the brain & leave the tumour.

What's the point of Kurt Baptise?

He is a hooker. We have McKillwich, Liddle and Godinet. Why grab another middle of the road hooker.
Now Mitch Rein and Nathan Peats are probably going to have a bit of competition at the Gold coast. We could snare an unhappy traveler there. Both Rein and Peats are preferable to Baptise IMHO.

Theres no point, Like you said we have three middle of the road rakes, and we have reynolds, Marshal and E.T who can help out there.
this is the last position we need to fill.

Game changer better hurry I think..Bus is about to leave the stop…

I know we have heard whispers that Barba could be coming our way….but do you reckon he will be a game breaker for us,and will we be able to pay him an amount, but get the value out of him if he does line up for us...
