Penrith Panthers can confirm Tyrone Peachey has been granted a release from the final year of his contract to take up a long-term deal with Gold Coast Titans in 2019.

The 26-year-old utility remains contracted to Panthers for the 2018 season.

Peachey has played 85 games and scored 29 tries since joining Panthers in 2014.

"Tyrone has been wonderful for our club," Panthers Executive General Manager Phil Gould AM said.

"He came to Panthers looking for an opportunity to play NRL football and has now developed into a representative class player.

"The contract at the Titans is a great deal and tremendous security for Tyrone and his young family.

"At the moment though, he is still a Panther for 2018 and we get to enjoy his football for the rest of the season.

"Tyrone is looking forward to the year ahead and remains committed to finishing his time here at Panthers on a positive note."

S.F.A cost us a lot less than Ballin and did as much on the field

Look I think we should not be panic buying where the market is not providing anyone we really need.

It’s best to keep our powder dry ….. gives the coaching staff a chance to assess how the squad is performing and (by round 8-9) we should have any gaps and concerns well and truly identified.

I think that with the cap money still awailable, we are well positioned to bid for what we may need either this season or in the future.

Coote is past his best, and even that was not in the top echelon of fullbacks. Are others I would chase before him

x2, I'd rather wait and see how the young Aussie rep fullback we snared from the Sharks goes this season and promote him if he's good enough.

x3 We need to wait a bit to see who plays well and who does not. Then go out and buy what we need.I still think there are some good players off contract this year. Maybe a few very good juniors from other clubs, get them into the Tigers system and maybe then they can replace the likes of Grant, Naiquma, Fonua, and Brooks. Just a bit of forwarding thinking.

Yeah, we really lost out not being involved in that merry go round.

I thought Geo was from there.

Cant be. There's no pies there

Came here because of Pies..

On signings..I don't believe we are paying Sironen and 1 of the development players will be elevated to an NRL contract as No. 29…

My information, and I believe it to be accurate, is that we are paying C Sironen money and he does count as a top 30 player. Matt Ballin also counts but gets no money out of our cap.

Another JT master stroke, sending Siro packing and we pay manly for 2 years, JT the gift that keeps on giving

So if we signed Barba, he would be the 30th player?

My understanding it would be our 29th as this is just an exemption to give us more time as these rules are just coming in. There is another club with an exemption but I cant remember who it was.

Yeah it's a bit ambiguous. In theory right now we have 30 counting Ballin and Sironen. There's an exemption for us to go to 31 because Ballin had a career ending injury. As it was told to me C Sironen could be removed from our books pretty easily.

So short answer, there is room for two but no requirement to act on it as of now.

Any idea why Ballin is still on the books? He signed a 2 year deal that started in 2016 and ended last season. Isn't that deal over now?

He had an option in his favour.
