Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It would be hilarious after announcing this signing in the pre-season of 2019 that we lose by 40 in round 2, 50 in round 3 and the clubs sacks Cleary after 3 rounds… :roll

I'm sure Nathan's next contract will have a "Father-Son" clause in it.

You Queenslanders have a sick sense of humour

No just their 2 heads conflicting!!!!!
:roll

I can see Reynolds not seeing out his contract due to injuries. His hammy is goneski .. unless they do a transplant / implant on the hammy he 'll always have issues with it. He'll be Matt Balin the second to us.

I do like the idea of Gamble / Cleary at 6 and 7 for next season :righton:

In a way it may be convenient if Josh has to retire due to injury in a couple of years time. You don't wish that on anyone, but if the injuries persist it may be an option.

I do worry about this contract. 4 years on big money for a guy mostly here to bring 'enthusiasm and attitude' without bringing key skills to the position.

We do need to change the culture at the club now, but in 3 years these will hopefully have already largely happened.

Nathan Cleary would be such a good addition if it was to happen but I don’t wanna get my hopes up, the way he is going he’ll be the next blues half for the next 10 years.

I think Reynolds would form such a good combo with Cleary as Reynolds would set the standards in regards to engergy and support play to Cleary and forwards while Nathan takes charge of the ship and leads the team around which he is already doing extremely well at 19.

I think the signing of Nathan along with a fullback and a solid second rower we can be really dangerious in terms of contending for the premiership.

A fullback like Holmes there’s reports he is unhappy as he wants the fullback gig, watched the game closely and they didn’t go his side at all even when his opposite winger was sent off.

And a second rower, try raid one from Penrith any of Kikau, Fisher - Harris and Harawira- Narera….. whom are all on the nech I’m pretty sure.

I have heard Roosters and preparing to table a sizable offer to attract both Cleary's.

Penrith will throw everything at Nathan however he is close to his Father and the way he was treated at Penrith will weight on any decision.

I would throw everything at Nathan as we need a decent half back.

Long term halves pairing Cleary/Gamble… A fair bit of upside in that pair

That is what I was thinking, but what about Reynolds

I know… to be honest, if the team can show continual improvement we'll probably outgrow what Josh brings to the #6 well before his contract is up.

That would leave him as an expensive benchy or needing to vastly improve his skills at #9...

How exciting..

Gamebreaker…2020..

But what if Brooks metamorphosis into the next joey johns ?

Por que no los dos?

Que ??

Few members throwing Gamble's name up before he has played one game of NRL , bloody big call

I'm not suggesting he go to #6 immediately but I do think that as a young fella, his form looks excellent for doing that in the future. (also based on what I saw of him last year)

Trouble is, if it was a pre-existing injury, it counts against our cap.

That's what not to do!
Don't punt experience and bring in Newbie's to steer the team. Can we just be clear what happened when we punted Marshall and put in Brooks + Moses? We were bottom 8 trying to be better.

Reynolds, Marshall are both experienced halves. Cleary is showing us one valuable lesson EXPERIENCE MATTERS. A team of Juniors does not work. If we get Reynolds, Gamble and Cleary fighting over the 2 halves spots we will have a strong spine. If we just have Cleary and Gamble, were going to have another 4 painful years.

Only for the season he retires in, not for the full duration of the contract

No point in Brooksie actually turning up this weekend then,
it's all but in the bag, unless someones fibbing, or playing games with contracts.
Naaahhh!…........ They wouldnt do that surely
