There has been some chatter around that Israel Folau management has put out feelers to Tod Greenberg for possible return to the NRL.
Would be great pickup for us. Would cut deep into our salary cap if NRL didn’t offer some incentives.
However one downside ….. I believe he is managed by our friend Moses.

Izzy to the rorters the only club that can afford him.

Parra have been linked to Izzy

Cowboys ….. they have a lot of dollars leaving their salary cap shortly

With the war chest my personal opinion is that you have to qualify to use it you must be in the bottom 8 clubs for wins in the 4 previous season it can not be used if you are a successful club like the Roosters Broncos Melbourne the war chest should help the game overall and not just the elites get stronger image if Izzy went to Newcastle that would help the game

Also anyone see Mick Ennis call woods a stats
Man no aggression he did a good job here but happy he's and replaced with Matt's and Packer

Mick P Ennis is a good rugby league mind. He is spot on with Woods he is a stats man that is overpriced weak defensively and creates no punch for his halves to get on the back of. Has a good offload but it’s not hard when you run backwards. Nothing new Lazarus called him out last year. Best decision we made was to go with Packer/Matulino at a similar salary amount as Woods. Ava was the bigger loss tbh.

Mate there was about 1000 posts about this a month ago. It was Barba. It was rubbish.

Life moves on.

Jamie Soward says a club would need 800k in their cap for izzy.. I'm pretty sure we'd have that left over in our cap. Wishful thinking on my behalf but would love to see a talent like izzy in Tiger colours

Lets flip this on its head for a minute.
At Wests Tigers, Ivan has what he has asked for; control of the team.
He came here from Panthers with Gould looking over his shoulder and having ultimate control. If he goes to the Capons, will he have control or will someone else (Nick) be looking over his shoulder with ultimate control?
Where is he better off in terms of realising his vision, building a team, structuring that team and laying out his game plan, here or at the Capons?
He comes across as a man of integrity. He has talked about a plan at WT spanning a few years.

Haha Capons… had to look it up.

I wouldn't just be worried about having full control vs interference, I'd be worried about results. Thing about clubs like Roosters, they'll take care of you if you produce results, they'll also dump you quick smart if you fail. You've got ongoing rumblings about Trent Robinson's future and they guy has overseen 4 very successful seasons out of 5 total, including 3 MPs and 1 premiership.

Ivan needs to take Tigers to the finals a few times to be heralded a hero. At Roosters that would be the minimum.

Coaches aren't included in the salary cap.

IF we are looking at becoming a dynasty before, during and after 2020, the Tigers should be making money by that stage.

Throw the kitchen sink at Cleary I mean like Bennett money at him if he's done what we think he's capable of doing over the next couple of years- for once lets beat the Roosters at their own game.

Nathan will want to play for dad, and would do it at a slight discount you'd think (besides, dad might just start paying him "pocket money" if he's still under the same roof - say 10,000 per week… )

Cowboys will get Val Holmes instead

Do you believe paying big money for a rugby convert would go against Cleary's intent of a more evenly spread expenditure of the salary cap among players?

We have Thompson performing really well. He knows he will get a fair go under Cleary if he performs. I feel a coach would be intimidated to drop Folau if he didn't perform and was on near a million a season.

In regards to Ivan its hard to say what will happen between now and 2020 but I would like to believe he would stay. He has said that the Tigers wont be playing their best football for a few years and I am sure he would like to reap the rewards of what he has built which Gus didn't allow him at the Panthers.

I think Ivan will win a premiership as a coach and I hope it is with us.

I would be fine with having a get out clause for Nathan if Ivan left and offer them both a 5 year contract.

Rorters do have deep pockets but I am sure our offer will be really good and Ivan did say he was a Tigers supporter growing up.

Would be nice for us to get a signing over the chooks.

Glad to know he was a Tigers supporter. Hey that counts with Brad Arthur in the Eels

More then that, were assuming a lot:
Ivan says he wants to have Nathan on the same team…. What about Nathan? Son may think very differently.
We just saw the Roosters eject Pearce. Boyd was sounding miserable on MMM. Why would you send your son there?
Sure they have Cronk as a mentor, but clearly the Roosters are prepared to drop people at the touch of a hat.
The Roosters are more willing to drop coaches then players.

Unless there is a $2M signing bonus. He wont be going to the Roosters. The Roosters will sign Flanagan, Bellamy or Green.

I don’t think Nathan needs a mentor.
Val Homes didn’t make a good go of it at fullback and seems uninterested on the wing this year. Still, only two games have been played and there’s a long season ahead.

Penrith winger Josh Manour is off-contract and as one of, if not, the best on the market, he’s demanding big money.

As a Test and Origin representative, the Panthers understandably want to keep the flyer but it’ll cost them to do so.

Phil Gould revealed he’s seeking a deal worth more than $400,000 a season.

“That won’t get to first base,” Gould told 100% Footy when asked about a 400k deal for Mansour.

Parramatta are a club in the mix for Mansour.
