I know some people find it hard to be optimistic at the moment re Wests Tigers immediate prospects, (I'm one of them also finding it hard,) but if we can get Hodgson and Papali'i, then that will definitely make me feel a lot more optimistic.

And Cotric, idk, Dogs have him on about $600k (according to Zero Tackle) for the next 2 years, they'd have to throw in at least $150k in both years for us to consider him.

Anyone at all nervous about Papalli?

He had a great year but I mean can you really judge off that?

I think you can when you take his age into account. Not like he's a 27 year old journeyman who has had 1 good year. He was a good developing young player who has blossomed into a great player. He was 22 this season. I think he still has some upside

I am starting to get a very strange feeling that unfortunately we will NOT be signing any top line players for next season…….
Just not good enough!

We're just waiting on Kevvie and the trifecta will be complete ?

Thanks @mike. Just heard the Benji news and wanted to see if others were happy about it too. The world really is a better place when WTs fans have something (anything) to celebrate.
Agree with all positive remarks, in that it will be great for the club's reputation/brand and may make a critical difference in restoring or instilling some pride and passion.

I always feel the club lifts it’s spirits when the guys who put it on the map get involved with it again.
Sheens, Farah and Benji are a trio that will be well received by the playing group, especially the youngsters.
Good to see Hastings show his excitement publically. Interesting year ahead folks!

Hey Glenn ...you forgot to add me .....i think this club is an abortion and I won't be surprised if we are gone within 10 years .....

When are we going to sign a player ranked even in the Top 100 players of the NRL ......

Can't recall the word "abortion" getting much of a run on here before.

I was saving that for a worse loss than rd 25 but it’s out there now!

Looks like we have recruited well from QLD with the focus on pathways

The Wests Tigers have six of the best – Queensland schoolboys merit prop Herman Tofaeono (Keebra Park SHS), 2021 joint Justin Hodges medallist Chris Faatugu (Marsden SHS), outstanding Wavell No. 13 Junior Taungatua (Wavell SHS), middle forward Mou Taumaletila (Marsden SHS) and utility Kienan Tempest (Marsden SHS) who is a David Stagg clone.

Throw in brilliant Kirwan SHS outside back talent Dudley Dotoi from Far North Queensland and you have a bag full of good kids headed to the Wests Tigers.

And yet the majority of the forum are still carrying on like Jason Taylor is running things.

People need to wake up to the fact that this club is indeed doing good things and stop blaming them for the past mistakes.

Maybe the club should communicate a lot better with there stake holders … if this younger talent is on the books TELL us ,explain what’s happening and the direction the club is taking . COMMUNICATION costs nothing it’s easy but the most fundamental resource that organisation do not use effectively.

Still feel it wouldn't matter. Most people are still hung up on Josh Addo Carr etc

I actually met Addo Carr on Cup Day. Lovely fella. Asked him why he didn't come back to the Tigers and he said we didn't want him

At the price he was asking...

I can understand you thinking that way Hap. We seemed to go down hill when Sheens was sacked, not because of the significance of sacking a successful coach, but it appeared to set a different course for the club. A destructive course where the administration viewed leadership as a threat, rather than something to foster. Maybe they thought the role of a leader was to create followers as they systematically moved on those who showed potential leadership qualities. Lol. Fast forward about 6 years the club realise they have no leaders so start buying them, only to learn that it’s not working. To me it looks like the AHA moment has finally arrived, where they realise that the role of a leader is to develop more leaders. Would be interesting to know who is driving this change?

Marata Nuikore signs with the Warriors. The Eels won't want to lose another backrower. Watch them up their offer now for Papalii. And guess who is likely to miss out on another signing ? All conjecture of course but I have seen it too many times. We deadset move at the pace of a slug with anything we do.

Went from wanting to come back to Sydney for family reasons and signing a HOA with us to if you hold out another year the dog's have a bigger offer for me so stuff the family I'm staying in Melbourne for another 12 months on an upgraded offer than joining the dog's for the money they are offering

It’s not about not wanting to lose another backrower, they don’t have the space. They just re-signed RCG and Mahoney, and still have to re-sign Matterson and Gutho. And I’m the first to bag the club, but how are they moving at a snails pace in this instance?

The version I heard was that the values were about the same. But when he first agreed to go to the Tigers, Storm agreed to a player swap with either Nofo or Talau. Tigers said no way. JAC then felt well if you won't trade for me, clearly you don't want me there that badly.
This would match up with his "they didn't want me line".

At the end of the day glad we didn't pay too much for a winger. He was pretty average for storm in the finals. Not saying he won't turn it around but doubt he was going to be a full back we were hoping for

We did pay too much for a winger though…way too much. I feel sick every time I think of Nofo still being on the wing in 2025

The vaccine mandate may pave the way for a few players to get out of contracts. Maybe we are holding off signing anyone for our last 3 or so spots to see which players may become available?

Is there an NRL vaccine mandate or is it just in some states?
