I am very happy with the club because 700k for an attacking second row but horrific defender is too much. Happy Tigers didn’t try to match price. But 600k for Dally-M second rower of the year is awesome. (probably a bargain).

I just hope we as fans hold our nerves and don't go feral when we have a run of bad games next year in 2022.

We finally have a few "Long Term" minded leaders in the club in Madge and Sheens.

Have to agree with Spartan 117 we need to hold our nerve for the first 5 or 6 games next year and see how we go , I’m really happy we didn’t pay $700 for luc , Pap is a way better deal and a better all round player for $600 , Hastings I think will improve us and I’m not saying world beater or saviour just improve us , plus with our Juniors coming along and our new coaching assistants we will be better , just a couple more to sign and away we go

I reckon Cowboys and Tigers won't be able to make a deal and Luciano sticks around until '23.

There's only a few specific players we want it seems and the cowboys don't want to let them go, plus the players might not even want to come here

Seems like too many things have to work out right for it to happen

Nth Qld are struggling to acquire experienced forwards. To wait another year to acquire LL does not appear to be smart business. If they are prepared to move along one of their two good young second rowers to gain LL then there will be a deal. I believe there will be a deal due to the close relationship between Sheens and Payten.

I'd be very happy if we snagged one of their young second rowers but I reckon they'll want to hang onto both of them

Hopefully it works out for WTs. I have confidence with Sheens and McDonnell overseeing this that we will get a good outcome.

Any sign of life from Sheens and McDonnell? Anything at all that can be directly attributed to them and wasn't started by Maguire? Anything?

If you put it that way, Papali'i apparently was commenced via Hartigan. Laurie and Utoikamanu are also Hartigan's work.

Roberts on a modest contract hasn't been a bad purchase. The issue is he never gets good ball in space. I'll give you Joey. Tamou has been fine for the player we knew he was when purchased. Didn't Maguire want him for experience?

Tamou has been a huge bust as far as on-field goes, we knew we weren't getting a Shane Webcke standard prop but Tamou has offered nothing in his 10 minutes of gametime each week. And from an outsiders POV watching the doco he contributes minimal off the field and in the sheds. Would be happy for him to get acquainted with KOE next season.

Yep, overall I think Hartigan did an ok job with recruitment, I think he possibly undervalued the elite players, but his eye for juniors can't be questioned.
