I heard the Cowboys are shopping Jordan McLean around. If they can't offload him they won't be able to offer Luki or Nanai anything decent. I'd double down and go for the both of them.

A good judge told me the other day Christian Ma’anaima might be one of our best signings. We won't be chasing front rowers with Stef, Twal, Musgrove, Seyfarth and Ma'anaima Joffa and Tuki. Reckons Ma'anaima is as good as Stef!

Everyone has just come to the conclusion that Simpkin is going to be a star, without having really stood out in the few games he’s played. I honestly can’t work out if the hate for Liddle is cos everyone loves Simpkin, or the love for Simpkin is cos they hate Liddle.

Well said. Exactly my thoughts. As I have said on this forum before - I watched every
Tigers game this year. I have no alliances or favouritism with either Liddle or Simpkin. Neither player set the world on fire but let's be real here. Liddle was streets ahead.

His defence was the second worst for a hooker in the NRL someone posted some stats before. And if you watched all his games and you think his passing is as good as most starting hookers then your an even bigger imbecile then I thought. I would love for him to do well, but 2021 was no stand out year for liddle.

I’ve not seen anyone suggest that it was - all ive seen is posters unashamedly claim Simpkin is better (which he isn’t) and to move in Liddle - without naming a replacement….

Liddle has shown he can’t pass, poor defender and can’t play 80. Simpkin dominated junior grades and is 20. There is a reason the club is looking at moving Liddle. He’s not getting much better and his level is not of a first grade hooker.

Simpkin who is not NRL ready projects to be a much better player. He looks a season away to me but it may be sooner.

This is facts.

Same reason we let Sykes go to Penrith.
We expect the other second rower / locks coming through to be better.

Why would you want to give another club a leg up? Especially a club who has been a consistent top 4/top 8 side the last few years? So he’s good enough for them, but not for us who haven’t made the top 8 for a decade?

Gotta disagree when it comes to tackling, he definitely needs to work on his defence

(Apart from Twal), Doesn't say much for the rest of the forwards then, when he is the next best defender.

Not saying he is perfect - but you do realise that because he is smaller than everyone else in the middle, the big opposition forwards run at him the whole game.

He needs to work on his game, sure but so does everyone else in this team, tenfold!!!!

He was the 2nd worst hooker in the NRL this year for Try Causes and Line Break causes in defence. He's a massive liability in our middle defence. Probably coincides with his lack of stamina

We have 40 odd points put us by most teams in most games throughout the year, And there's one bloke in the side that can't tackle?

We're a lowly team so everyone feels the need to death ride someone until they're gone so we can still be a lowly team.
Jacob Liddle is not Harry Grant (Not many young hookers are) He's got a way to go...
But there's much more upside to him that a heap of other Hookers atm.
JMK, Rein, The Brailey Brothers, Turpin, Egan, Granville/Robson... And there's others.
He's on par or better than most of those - He's also playing with lower calibre players than most of those.
He's the hooker, Not the Fullback - He's not always going to be where the ball ends up... Especially when we have no idea where it's going to end up.

He gets roasted for the Ofahengaue play the ball... But no one mentions Blore (I think) and the 3 other guys that are just standing there spectating....
There isn't another team in the comp where one of the guys in that position wouldn't get to dummy half.

As I said, He's got a way to go... But look at what's about in Hookers and Halves...
Nothing - And as Parra have just found out - We could do much worse.

Finally someone that is telling it like it is. Agree with most of what you said.

I think this year will be a breakout year for our "Lids" - I am going to enjoy watching him play in 2022 with whoever he plays for.

His defence was the second worst for a hooker in the NRL someone posted some stats before. And if you watched all his games and you think his passing is as good as most starting hookers then your an even bigger imbecile then I thought. I would love for him to do well, but 2021 was no stand out year for liddle.

I’ve not seen anyone suggest that it was - all ive seen is posters unashamedly claim Simpkin is better (which he isn’t) and to move in Liddle - without naming a replacement….

Which is a whole new level of stupid

Liddle has shown he can’t pass, poor defender and can’t play 80. Simpkin dominated junior grades and is 20. There is a reason the club is looking at moving Liddle. He’s not getting much better and his level is not of a first grade hooker.

Simpkin who is not NRL ready projects to be a much better player. He looks a season away to me but it may be sooner.

This is facts.

Same reason we let Sykes go to Penrith.
We expect the other second rower / locks coming through to be better.

Cannot believe the crap most on here are leveling at liddle , has he stole ur girls friends or robbed ur house , or is that those shoveling shit on him don’t have a clue about football . Yes he has faults but he has 16 other players each week who play worse than him , lay of the kid , and find something else to do .
