There's 16/17 Teams, 4-5 Top Class hookers in the game (Maybe less) Unless we're getting one of those (Which we're not),
Then I'd prefer much prefer Liddle Stays.... LONG TERM!!

Liddle is not at the top level, But our Team as a whole are not at that level (Yet)
Both may never be... People here need to accept that.

I've seen a gazillion sack him, sack that guy - This guy is crap posts,
But NOT ONE is followed up with a realistic, suggested player to fill the position
I'd be throwing 1.2 at B Smith, I seriously don't think that would land him....
We're just not that appealing right now... I doubt we ever were, Or even will be....

The only way we'll ever land those type of players - Is buy building a tough, mid level side that shows to be on the up. Get the numbers right and then land that big fish...
We're not there yet, And I for one... AM NOT letting the Hooker or Half go anywhere until we firmly have our hands on a much better option - Which we don't.

I want any player with a WT jersey on to play well, succeed and win games. But Jacob needs to improve alot for that to occur

Which statistics are you referring to? - His 92(ish) % Tackle efficiency?
If we had a goal kicker that kicked that well, He'd be the pride of the team....

87% actually. And his 10 try and 13 linebreak causes in 20 matches. He missed 65 tackles last season, second most for the club (funnily enough the apparently great defensive half Brooks missed the most tackles in 70 for the season). He needs to be better

Where you getting them From? NRL (The game he plays) has him at 92.1....

Everyone has just come to the conclusion that Simpkin is going to be a star, without having really stood out in the few games he’s played. I honestly can’t work out if the hate for Liddle is cos everyone loves Simpkin, or the love for Simpkin is cos they hate Liddle.

I hope they're both stars - And both here long term....
As it stands, They're the only 2 NRL(ish) Hookers at the Club.
Why we'd be sending one to a top 4 team is beyond my reckoning...

We look to let him go, I could almost guarantee the Roosters, Eels, Manly & Storm would be lining up for him.

But it would also expose Simpkin. We hear how Liddle isn’t an 80 minute hooker, neither is Simpkin.

We need another hooker. Liddle can't go 80 minutes consistently if at all. I think Simpkin should spend more time in reserve grade. It's a problem position.

I was happy to have Hodgson, so we could juggle all 3. Being prepared to pay 500k though was imbecilic. Glad the Raiders dug their heals in.

I get the support for Liddle, but please don't try to appreciate his service game. Its the lowest tier for first grade hookers.

Hooker is so much more than their stats. The reasons many teams can send their wingers in un touched is because of good dummy half play. We don't do that. Our attack is slow, clunky and often goes to the right over and over again. This is because Liddle is simply not good. His service is so slow and he isn't good at engaging the markers and giving our forwards more room for hit ups like Farah could. He also gets gassed early in the game and regularly misses over 5 tackles. He's a bottom 3 starting hooker. We need higher standards.

I would suggest that 90% of the players we played last year need massive improvements in 2/3 of these areas...
Not only is it my suggestion, The results clearly state it.

Probably telling him off at training for throwing a simple pass from dummy half way forward or being too slow when passing from the play the ball well that’s what LL did anyway during last off season and honestly he had a point but extreme with the push and shove that occurred but he was right to tell him off and for him to be better

Yes that’s the elephant in the room. That most seem to ignore or be oblivious to. I am sure all the other clubs were aware of and I am sure the coaching staff are taking action for 2022. No change = no improvement = wooden spoon.

I'm interested to know if you have checked the stats of those that are standing right next to him. Tamou? Tuki Simpkins? Tom Amone? Tuilagi? Leilua? Ofahengaue? Not a tackler between them, but its all Liddle's fault.

Thats their second job. Their first job, and that of EVERY player is to make sure those basics are covered FIRST. If you're playing on the wing and the forwards all walk off, you just keep standing on the sideline, or do you get in and have a dig?

No it isn't , It's their job to get to the play the ball when the hooker is too far away....

When there's no hooker - Exactly how would they be looking to receive the ball from him? I said it earlier.... No other club makes that mistake in that position. Blaming 1/13 guys for it (Especially when he was in the middle) is just stupidity.

Watch it again, Blore was within a few steps and not even looking at the Ball.

I guess all are right on here. Everyone agrees that each spine for Tigers in 2021 were not bottom 3. But what is fact that the rest of the pack was bottom 3. With a soft pack like we had in 2021 the spine had no chance. 2022 will confirm that the dogs even with the worst spine in 2022 will do a lot better than teams with a much better spine. Simply because of a pack that can defend and even hurt you in the process. Something we have been lacking in spades. We have scored enough points to win games. Our problem is we can defend to win. Get that aspect sorted and the rest will fall in place.

Even when we had rep props... No one was scared to run at them.
When have we had a Fit enforcer... (2011 was the last time)
Get a bloke on each side of the field that can put blokes in the ground
you'll see a difference in our side across the park.
