Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

700k for junior paulo shows the fact that parra have learnt nothing over the years.A disaster in the making

They had Vave and Matagi filling the same role for much less last year when they had their successful run. I'm not sure why BA has moved away from his impact props but now seems to want to go and splash big cash on one - he should just try and get the most out of the cattle he's got.

If we want Gutherson I think Parra will want us to offer them a forward which could make it easier…

Any suggestions for who you’d swap to get him?

Grant or Sue?

People are dreaming if they think Gutherson would get a release from Parra and when off contract he will get substantial offers from a lot of clubs. We will just be one of a lot of clubs interested in his signature and he strikes me as a pretty loyal sort of person

Next year is Lawrence's last on his contract would you resigned him and if so for how long been a great club man and not on big dollars I think sign him for one extra year and tell him you mite see time on the bench

Ok, but I thought Lawrence was on good money.

He was but on his last contract he did the club a solid and took a pay cut for his 2017 dollars which was rumored to between 650K and 750K and took a new contract of 450K a year for three years starting in 2017

Now I really am confused - an earlier post said similar but $300k. I think you may be closer to the mark but it just shows we are all guessing.

Shows Chrisy on $300k.

He's not on 300K

I'm sorry your majesty, but Zero Tackle is the closest we have to facts unless you are also Mr. Lawrence's accountant… Regardless, he's not on the big coin he once was.

Chris Lawrence was never on big coin.
By ''BIG COIN'' i mean more than $300k.
He's been on $300k for a while now.
Like some one said earlier , he was supposed to get a substantial
pay increase per year but the club offered him to stay on $300k
for a longer period , therefore keeping him at the club for longer.

His big contract finished in 2017 which he signed when he was a top 4 center in the game but in 2016 he resigned for 3 years 2017 2018 2019 but the Tigers asked him to change his payments for 2017 to help with cap pressure and his new contract had to get approved by the NRL he is not losing money

So you are saying he is on 900K over 3 year because zero tackle said so are you dumb ?… to think his manger did not do his best for himself and his client Chris Lawrence let's say it was 650K not 750K

If that is correct after he resigned his new contract he is basically getting 125K a year for 2018 and 2019 because zero tackle said
That's B/S

Please read the Chris Lawrence quotes thanks for coming please come again

Just looked that up too. Says "the Tigers are hoping he may consider a new deal that guarantees him $450,000 per season for 2017 and 2018." Not very concrete. But whatever he's on, he's a true club man, a genuine guy and I hope he keeps up the form and scores again against the Seagulls tomorrow!

That article is not quiet accurate just one of the options at the time of re-negotiation as Rowdy extended his 2017 option until 2019..not just 2018 so for Cap purposes it is 300K per Year for 17 18 and 19..of which a large chunk comes from the veteran player allowance relieving even further Cap pressure.,.

Nicely cleared up. Thanks Geo. Sounds like a bargain!

While Lawrence is entitled to every cent of his current contract money, the Tigers are hoping he may consider a new deal that guarantees him $450,000 per season for 2017 and 2018.

The Tigers have first got to clear the proposal with the NRL, which rarely allows variations to contracts that have already been lodged and registered.

The current Tigers administration believes previous officials have paid "overs" for Lawrence, with the original deal tabled after he broke into the Australian teams of 2010-11.

Asked about the prospect of spreading his wage over two seasons as part of an extension deal, Lawrence said: "If that's the case, it's something I'll talk to with my manager and if it works for both parties it is something we will look at …
