Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I reckon our forwards are doing the job. Spend the money on the backs - let's get some blistering pace and quality out wide. It's all coming together nicely….

Yup, agreed. Good depth in our forwards for now, especially when ET and Packer are back. We are in dire need for some pace out wide. I would hope that we go after Isaako. Broncos are plodding along, could attract him here easily under Cleary and bonus is he's a goal kicker. I just can't remember if he was the player that asked to go to Brisbane… so that would be a spanner in the works if that's the case.
I would also go for Oates. Great player, good finisher, heaps of speed.

I think the Morris twins would want a lot more money then that mate, sill handy players.

Fair enough…they have been quoted as saying they will stay in Sydney for less but acknowledged they may need to move to the Super League to continue playing if they want big coin.

I reckon the package is a bit much but we should make a run at one of them

They would want 4-500k each at a minimum. Pass.

Just read that Parra want Nelson Solamona from Storm.

He would be the dream signing for me easy…...

Get him on the bus

Surely most teams would want NAS. Trying to get him away from the Storm might be mission impossible, however.

I thought he re-signed with the Storm last year?

Off contract end of next year

Was a short contract….

Idk there's reports Parra want him so if he's gettable we should go in hard he's also a kiwi I'm pretty sure that could help us too.

It's apparently NRL journalistic practice to link every player on the market with Parra and Roosters.

With the amount of players they're allegedly after they'd need to hold group negotiations to have time to talk to all of them.

With Brooks going so well
If he can keep this up all season
Do we still make a play for Nathan Cleary
Or do we offer Brooks an extension and upgrade
On another note
We need to re sign Ivan 1st
He has shown us already what he can do
I think a further 3 years would create a lot more stability for our club and players
He is getting results that we as a club have not seen for a very long time
The players seem to listen to him and all look very happy to play under him
Let's not forget all the baggage that came with the club when he took over
Ivan has handle the pressure very well indeed
Keeping Ivan long term will attract more players to our club and this will only make us a stronger unit
Would still like Oats and Mansour at our club

Yes. Benji retires, Brooks to 5/8 and Reynolds to bench utility.

I was the one who proposed Brooks to 5/8 last year and also brought it up a few weeks ago….. not many were fans of it but it's coming obvious now that Brooks is a 6! The pressure will be off him too not needing to control everything it will give him some relief and a more relaxing approach which Brooks plays better with

Brooks and CLeary as a combo can very well be the NSW halves combo in the future

I see a very goof combination with them, Benji is doing what Nathan does not as the standards Nathan produces but still the same, with game managment and kikcing game with those spirals but also brings the element of goal kicking too.

While Brooks plays off it with his running game and short kicking game too

Reynoldys to bring some enegery from the bench too

Give them a fullback who can just support and orgainse defesivve with a good passing game - maybe a Gutho or leave Thompson in there cause he's playing that role really well..... maybe try get Brad Abbey at the club, I think Ivan can turn him into a gun

With liddle and Reynolds sharing the hooker duties you've got the best spine that Wests Tiger have ever produced imo

A player that kicks goals at 90% should be on our radar, plus the talent that he is.
I'm a fan of Luke but if we got NC it would be an upgrade, even if Luke changed to5/8.
I agree that we need another winger/centre, maybe even a classy fullback.

Thats the story Wayne puts out but i'm not sure whether that has been proven to be the case.

A signing that fits our culture and price range is Jason Clark from Souths. He's bog average but tough, experienced and fits the no DH policy we unofficially have. Could replace Tim Grant if he decides to leave.

Perfect for our Massey cup team

Like Robbie Rochow ay?

Robbie Rochow had shown he had it in him in his time at the Knights. Jason Clark has never shown anything.

x2 - Clark is softer than a Marshmellow Fart - heck I'd have Brooks in the back row before I'd entertain Clark from Souffs.

Thankfully Ivan Cleary is our coach.

So many wanting Brooks at five eight, Nathan Cleary at half and Reynolds off the bench.

Again, I am so happy Ivan is coach.

Just read on Tripple M's NRL Twittter
that Josh Papalii is asking for $800,000 a season as exit looms.

Four NRL clubs are interested but is he worth the money???

(sorry i dont know how to post the article off twitter)

(he's currently on $430,000 a year)

That’s big money for a couple of good games a year.

Papali is delusional if he thinks he is worth worth more than half of that.

Next step is the lunatic asylum.

Nah, Papalli, Hess and Tau Pau give us something we need… Impact.

Now everyone says they will have Ego's.... Well you have guys asking for an 800k contract what do we expect!
I reckon Cleary could pick someone who doesn't fit our culture. Would love any of those three.

think a lot of people on here need to take a deep breathe, great or really good forwards win games, yes we have been going great but 2-3 injuries and we would be back in the pack. and as good as we are going we really need another top class front rower and a backrower, maybe not right now but for next year. ivan brought in cheap backs who have done really well, so it shows that good forwards and middle to the road backs can win u games. so lets hope ivan brings in some class forwards with our war chest of money.

Our forward pack is going fine and we have plenty of impact. Our money should be spent on backs, not forwards.

My God Reynolds is our 5/8 just because he hasn't been on the field people start pushing him around everywhere as a fill in. We paid big money over 4 years, so lets settle in and watch what he brings then we can start raving about how much of a good move Ivan made in bringing him here

Has been said that Blake Ferguson is off the booze. He is playing like he has been and like the natural athlete he is. If true i would have no problem with him playing with us. He is the strike power we need. Only thing is, I like my wine and tell myself to let it go at times. I do for a time but i like my wine. Can Blake keep it up? If Ivan can keep him clean for 2 years he is a X factor player. I say yes lets get him.

I doubt we could get him at the supposedly discounted price the Roosters got him for this year. His resigning was probably conditional on him getting off the grog etc.
