Jackson Ferris from Cronulla is in discussions to join the club as a depth signing as a 2nd row/centre cover, will be a minimum wage deal if it comes through.

Discussions are being had about a potential swap/release for Koroisau to join the club immediately in 2022, Liddle is the obvious choice but also depends if Panthers want him. Liddle keen to stay & fight for his spot be sees the writing on the wall.

Cotric is mulling over a last ditch offer from the Raiders as of Sunday night, they've upped how much they will pitch in but the deal only remains a 2 year deal at this stage.
Our offer is over 3 years covering 450k for 2022 & closer to 500k in 2023.
Luke Thompson deal a long way off with his salary just too much at this point in time, Sheens feels he'd be a massive addition but doesn't want to unbalance the salary cap & have too much invested in the front row.

The club is extremely confident of giving fans a Christmas present of a upgraded extension for Stephano taking him till the end of 2025.

Same mail I had. Nikola has agreed to join us. Just working out the $$$ with the Dogs. Didn’t know about this last ditch attempt by the Raiders though, so that must be the delay

So you’re saying Briton Nikora is coming to the Tigers?

No, Nikola “nick” Cotric. It’s the wog version of the name Nick. He is of Serbian decent

It’s not a “wog” version …...it’s a correct version.
I thought offensive crap language like that became extinct when I last flattened some low brain that called me that at Ashfield Boys.

Jacko stated last week Gildart has been ripping it up at training and has impressed a lot of the boys and coaches hes fast , strong and can turn on a dime expect him to be in the centres round 1

Oliver Gildart's father Ian was a former professional rugby league footballer for Wigan, Wakefield, and Oldham.

If we get Jackson Ferris does that mean we are not interested in luki or nannai from cowboys

I wouldn’t think so I think if we do sign Ferris we would still try for Luki or Nanai

Ferris is tiny - how on earth is he rated as a forward? https://www.sharks.com.au/news/2020/08/01/post-match-jackson-ferris/

looks pretty big here to me, but he does look tiny in that interview to be fair.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFqoKrNbwD0

Looks quick for a back rower and can cover centre at pinch.

He was playing centre in all of those highlights. Looks exclusively a back to me couldn't see him getting a top30 spot though. maybe a train and trial?

How do people think the dogs are signing Paulo? Dolphins have already offered him 800k. Dogs are already under huge cap pressure for 23, with tehir current wage bill they can't be cap compliant. Paying at least 250k of thompson, plus his replacement on 800k+ means they're outlaying more than what they already have under their cap. They would have 15-20 players on minimum wage if they get Paulo. Don't see it happening.

Thanks Pom.

Hope we get Stef done and sign Api.

The Ferris one is a head scratcher, would seem a wasted spot to me.

Understand not overpaying for another FR but I see it as an important aspect of Stef’s development. He’s too young to lead a pack by himself and Tamou has been underwhelming. Maybe Musgrove comes good?

Just curious about everyone’s opinion would you guys want Nelson Asofa-Solomona? It seems he will leave Storm due to Victoria’s stance on vaccinations but he’s massive, has got talent and would be a major boost to the team could easily partner Stefano and he’s younger than Paulo and Thompson (I think)

I’d take him but his vaccination stance makes it almost impossible at the moment as you don’t know when he’s available. If you had a clause that if rules change and he can’t play he doesn’t get paid I’d consider it.

Lock up Stef long term then look for his partner

At this stage yes it would be difficult QLD and VIC have said everyone must be vaccinated I’m not sure what the stance is in the ACT but I checked our draw if he remains injury free and no suspensions he would only miss 5 games for us in 2022 Titans, both Cowboys games because I think our home game against them is Magic Round, Warriors because they are based in QLD next season and the Broncos we face Storm in Round 1 in Sydney and Canberra we face at home too so IMO it is worth it for next season but also hopefully the NRL won’t have to relocate out of NSW to keep the competition going

It's not derogatory anymore. It's actually an endearing term

I went to the Greek cakeshop at Kogarah the other week. The lady who served me asked where I was from and I replied Australia. No she said, where are you from you're not Australian. I told her I had Greek heritage and a huge smile crossed her face. It brought a smile to my face because my family are from Ireland. I love Australia because of the Greeks, Italians, Vietnamese and all the immigrants Australia brought in, It would be pretty boring without them!

Signing up to be a Greek in 'Signing Suggestions And Rumours " section. At least there is an faint connection more so than the recent posts here.

I would really like the club to pension off Tamou, doesnt really offer much for 2022 and opens up a spot for another class junior
